Story
Want to meet the biggest sweetie with 4 paws? The Colonel ( “Colonel, Kern, Kern Kern”) is a mature calm cat. He is quiet and and sweet as can be. He has never shown aggression even when he has been in uncomfortable situations. He is on the larger side and weights approx 11lbs. He has natural curiosity and enjoys exploring new places including the outdoors but he is declawed so outside on his own is not an option. He has been a loving, involved and cherished companion. His behavior issues sources are not quite known but as a family we believe it is due to stress. While he gets along with dogs, our dogs do not see him in the same light. We recently lost another cat and his issues have started since. He is someone’s best friend. He is in good health and a beautiful boy!

Story
Meet Dotty! Born to a feral mother, this beautiful girl came into foster care as a shy young lady, but has blossomed into a playful and affectionate companion. She'll delight you with her silly antics! Her playful spirit shines through when chasing any feathered toys or pursuing the elusive laser dot. Want to win her heart? A bag of Temptations treats is your golden ticket to becoming her favorite human! Currently living harmoniously with other cats and a dog, she's earned the title of "Official Welcoming Committee" in her foster home, taking new foster cats under her wing and even grooming the little ones. While she loves her animal companions, she prefers the company of adults and older children who understand and respect her need for personal space – she's not shy about setting boundaries when she feels crowded! Dotty is the perfect blend of independence and affection. She'll greet you at the door with loving rubs and happily curl up in your lap for snuggles, but on her own terms. Being held or carried isn't her style, but she makes up for it by being an excellent companion! While adoption events can be overwhelming for our sweet girl (she's not a fan of cages or crowds), it would be best for Dolly to meet perspective adopters in person in order to get the full picture of just how sweet this beautiful girl is! Story
Say hello to Buddy! Easygoing and Friendly are two words that perfectly describe him. Back in 2019, Buddy was fostered by his current foster mom. He was surrendered back to AOSC through no fault of his own and was adopted. No fault of his own was surrendered a second time in 2024-- he would love to find his FUREVER home. His foster mom has this to say about him: "Before coming back to me as a foster, Buddy was up for adoption at an adoption center, but was terrified at that particular adoption location. As soon as I brought him home, he has been nothing but sweet and affectionate! It has been fun fostering a previous foster of mine! Buddy loves human attention and loves to rub against your legs and be petted. He wants to be wherever YOU are! His foster home has 2 adult cats and he gets along with them very well. His last home he also got along with the other adult cat in the home. Buddy is curious and loves to sit and stare out the window. He LOVES Catnip and his favorite treats are Catnip Temptations! As a matter of fact, his favorite toys are filled with Catnip too! Buddy is a Good-Natured fellow who prefers to keep his space clean, including no bad litter box habits. This Handsome, Affectionate boy will be a great addition to a new family, and hopefully find the forever family that he deserves! Buddy is currently in a foster home. If you feel like he would be the perfect fit for your family, please consider visiting shelbycats.com/adopt to begin the application process!

Story
Figaro is a curious girl and she loves to watch from up high! At the shelter her favorite spot was perched on a shelf a few feet from the ceiling. Figaro does well with other cats and has bonded with another female cat, Arbor, while at the shelter. As far as we can tell, Figaro has spent her life as a stray until arriving at the shelter. She is sweet and gentle when coaxed or lifted from her watching spot. She has progressed from always hiding to coming out for wet food in under a week at her foster home so will do well with patience and love! Once out she enjoys a few pets! She is affectionate towards Arbor and plays with kitten energy! This sweet girl deserves a furever home where she feels safe and can blossom!!

🐱 Meet Biscotti! This precious 5-month-old female kitten is as sweet as her name suggests. While she may start off a bit shy, Biscotti is gradually blossoming into a delightful companion who's discovering the joys of human affection. Currently living with her littermates and foster siblings, she's learning important social skills every day. Biscotti is quite the little athlete when it comes to her favorite toys - pompom balls! You'll often find her proudly carrying them around or eagerly chasing them across the floor. She has that perfect balance of calm sweetness and playful energy that makes her an endearing companion.
