Story

Oliver is about 18 months old. He is all black in color. He was a stray that we took in back in November 2023. He definitely has lots of energy and is very curious. He is very sweet and loving. He will cuddle you and give you kisses. Unfortunately we have had some issues with behavior and they don’t seem to be getting better. Since I have a small child and am pregnant with my second, I am starting to worry about these issues. I don’t think Oliver will do well with a newborn in the home. I think ideally he would do much better in a home with no small children. He has made our family so happy this past year but we’ve come to the conclusion that he would be happier with another family who can devote more of their time to him and give him the attention he needs/deserves. My health is also declining and it is becoming a lot harder to keep up with his energy. We want to make sure he goes to someone who will take very good care of him and love him. That’s important to us.

Jessi is a sweet cat who is very cautious and fearful in the shelter. It can be hard to see her true personality because it is so hard for her to relax. We do know she loves wet food and treats, and when she knows it`s mealtime, she`ll often come out of her cubby to vocalize her excitement. Jessi enjoys playing with string toys and doesn’t mind a gentle back scratcher, although she can be wary of new people and situations. She will need someone who understands that Jessi might like some things but will still need time to warm up to other things. A quiet, patient approach is essential, as Jessi will need an adopter who respects her boundaries and allows her to take things at her own pace. With lots of treats, time, and understanding, Jessi could blossom into a sweet, trusting companion. Her perfect home would be with someone who is extremely patient and willing to let her figure out that humans are friends.Adoptions are free and include support from our adoption team to ensure a smooth transition from the shelter to your home.
