Story
Luna is a docile cat, probably 67 yrs old. She is affectionate, and a good companion for tv watchers but does like solitude part of the day. She has no bad habits really. She gets along with other non-aggressive cats but hides out around dogs. No health issues and hasn’t been to a vet in many years. Luna is de-clawed in front. We have had Luna since birth but moving to a mobile home and with a dog won’t have a favorable environment for her.

Story
NovaMy name is now Nova, but when I was at the HSHC the first time, I was Gidget. I am 6-years-old now and a bit bewildered about my current situation. I am an easy-going girl with a pleasing personality. I lived peacefully in a Roaming Room with several other cats, demonstrating exceptional social skills. I was a gentle, cuddly girl when I was here the first time, and I remain so now. The interviewer lady came to see me, and I was perched atop a cat tree looking out the window. I had been resting my eyes, but when she placed her head on a level with mine, I sniffed her and encouraged her to pet me. I rearranged myself so that she could reach several itchy areas. Another cat approached to investigate and hissed at us, but I ignored her and continued enjoying myself. Please only take me home if you are determined to keep me! My heart can`t stand another rejection. I look forward to being adopted by someone who loves cats and whose dog is also a cat-lover! 1-28-25

Story
MazzyBelieve it or not, cats don`t always get to keep their name. Mazzy is my second name. My first owner called me Cookie, but she surrendered me in 2021 when I was 4-years-old because she hadn`t enough time for me. I was soon adopted, given a new name, and lived with this owner for 3+ years. Because his landlord objected to me living with him, I returned to HSHC in August 2024. Luckily, I moved into a Roaming Room with five or six other cats, and I loved it! I am now 9-years-old and a smidge on the chunky side. The interviewer lady (IL) was happy to visit our room, and I was pleased to meet her. I rubbed against her hand so she would continue petting me. I was mesmerized by the ear rubs she gave me. The IL told me I was a beautiful dark brown Tabby with a white bib, white paws, and striking green eyes. I agreed with her that I could use a good brushing, a healthy diet, and some TLC. I spent some time living at the Smitten Kitten Cat Cafe, and though I`ve lived with young kids in the past, I didn`t like it when they chased me. I also learned that I could tolerate living with other cats, but I like people more. I almost forgot to tell you that I am already spayed and good at using the litterbox. I`m in need of some extra love and care, and I`m sure you can provide that. And you can provide me with another new name! 1-27-25

Story
TigressaI am one of those beautiful ladies who want to be wooed, courted, and showered with love before she agrees to a permanent relationship. I have lived with two owners, the first of whom was allergic to me. My second owner and I lived together for three years before she surrendered me to HSHC on December 9. We got along like peanut butter and jelly until two significant changes occurred. First, unbelievably, they changed the front door without even asking for my approval! Secondly, her son, grandson, and their dog moved into my home with NO warning. It is a basic fact of life that cats hate change, and the only way to make it bearable is to give the cat a safe place to be alone and decompress for as long as it takes to feel at peace. The interviewer lady has stopped by my apartment several times, and I have always remained in my Kasa. However, I let her pet me today and rub my ears and chin. It was delightful having her undivided attention. She agrees that I am a striking beauty with a long grey and buff-colored coat. I am only 5-years-old, spayed, and litterbox trained. She thinks I will make a loving companion with a patient owner, no other animals in the home, and everyone at least 16 years or older. I`ll leave you with my favorite quote. `Don`t hate me because I`m beautiful` - Pantene Shampoo. 1-8-25
