Story
FOSTERED IN: Chicago, IL 60654 ESTIMATED DOB: 2017 COLOR/BREED: Orange Tabby Shorthair KIDS: Older DOGS: Unknown CATS: Required HISTORY: Henry2 came to us from an animal control facility in NW Indiana. ABOUT: Henry2 is a very docile, sweet, agreeable kitty. Henry2 is very playful and enjoys all kinds of toys, but his fishing pole is his favorite. He isn’t a bother when he wants to play, he just calmly sits in front of you until you get the hint. He will play as long as you will, but he accepts when playtime is over. Henry2 also enjoys watching TV (seriously) so once playtime is over he is happy to curl up next to you to watch your favorite show. Henry2 loves to be pet all over, and even has a cute quirk that he won’t start eating until you give him a few pets. Henry2 likes to have a little bit of time to warm up to new people before he wants to be pet by them, but he doesn’t run and hide. He is very curious and likes to watch the new people for a bit, before asking for some pets. Henry2 will do best in a home that loves to talk to him and give him pets and scratches and share his constant company (because he will always be nearby), but understands that Henry2 won’t be the cat who wants to be picked up, carried around, and smothered. Henry2 has done excellent with the resident cats in his foster home. He loves to snuggle with them at nap time and is happy to match their play style. He interacts more calmly with relaxed cats, and loves a good roughhouse with the cat who prefers that play style. Henry2 never initiates rough play, but he is happy to step up to the plate if it is offered to him. Henry2 needs to be adopted into a home with at least 1 resident cat. Having cat buddies around makes him feel comfortable and confident. He would be a great playmate or companion to another cat. Henry2 is not being fostered with dogs, but his foster thinks he may do ok in homes with the calmest of dogs who won’t be interested in him. Henry2 is also not being fostered with children. He will likely do OK in calm, predictable homes with older children who will give him gentle pets and play with him, but who can understand he won’t want to be treated like a toy. If you think this easygoing, friendly, loving boy is a just what your home is missing you can find information on adoption and our adoption application on our website: www.luluslockerrescue.org. Henry2 is a very sweet, mellow, yet playful, agreeable kitty. He enjoys gentle attention from people, but he will take a little time to develop trust with new people. He’s the type of guy that doesn’t demand to be touched, but will always be somewhere close by. He likes to be pet and brushed when he has already chosen a spot to settle in and lie down. He doesn’t like commotion or loud voices inside his home, but he has adapted to the noises of city life with no problem. Henry2 loves when someone has time to play with him using the wand toy or laser pointer. He is not needy for playtime and will entertain himself with toys or wait patiently for you when he is feeling playful. His foster mom said he is the perfect houseguest and never gets into any mischief or trouble. Henry2 is currently being fostered with cats and he gets along very well with them and enjoys interacting and snuggling with them. We will require that Henry2 be adopted into a home with a welcoming, resident cat. Henry2 will prefer a more predictable home with less activity. We do not feel that homes with young, active children will be ideal for him. We do not know how Henry2 does with dogs, but we think a home without dogs will suit him best. Are you interested in adopting a kitty that you can watch blossom? Henry2 is ready to find his patient, calm, forever home. The first step in our adoption process is to complete the adoption application. More information and our adoption application can be found at www.luluslockerrescue.org. Henry2 really does like to watch TV: https://youtube.com/shorts/aQlqA-I2DHY?feature=share Henry2 appreciates some good pets: https://youtu.be/oK-ykTicgsU Henry2 playing with the resident cat: https://youtube.com/shorts/OHr1xIxKLqU Henry2 watches his favorite show: https://youtube.com/shorts/S3ZphU8W0WU

Story
FOSTERED IN: Chicago, IL 60654 ESTIMATED DOB: 2013 COLOR/BREED: Tabby and White Shorthair / Manx KIDS: No DOGS: Unknown CATS: No HISTORY: Bunny came to us from a rural underserved area. ABOUT: Bunny’s foster family describes her as: Chatty, Affectionate, Cuddly, Sweet, and Spicy. Bunny is very affectionate, without being needy. Bunny has excellent communication skills, and will follow you around and inform you of her need for pets. She can hold her own when you aren’t at home. When you are home and you are sitting down, Bunny will likely be nearby…and by near, we mean probably sitting on you. Bunny is a character and has a personality a true cat lover will enjoy. Her foster said she is 90% sweet, and 10% spicy. Bunny can occasionally get overstimulated with too much play or attention causing her to swat or nibble at you to tell you she is done. Bunny is very flexible on where she likes to nap, sometimes she’ll curl up ON you for a nap, and other times she likes to go under the bed for a snooze by herself, but she’ll almost certainly join you in bed at bedtime. Bunny is 10 years old but she has not hung up her sports equipment - when she’s feeling athletic she enjoys playing with wand toys and jingle balls. (She has asked if all adopters can provide proof of jingle balls before adoption.) Bunny is a low-maintenance girl when it comes to meal times as she prefers hard food. She does have a soft spot for Churu tubes and tuna as special treats. Bunny will do best in an adult-only home as she can get overstimulated with petting and play at times. Bunny has seen another cat in her foster home and didn’t seem especially pleased, so will do best as an only cat. We do not have any information on how Bunny would do with dogs. Bunny has been a champ getting in her carrier if she needs to go somewhere. If she thinks it’s coming she will try to hide, but she doesn’t fight the inevitable and has even been spotted taking a nap in her carrier on the drive. She has even traveled with her fosters a few times and has done really well in each environment. Bunny enjoys gentle face scritches. https://youtu.be/rsvTbbYCV9Y Bunny’s foster finds the spot: https://youtube.com/shorts/VzLiQ5In79Y Bunny makes some biscuits while she gets some pets: https://youtu.be/xZP8iut8thc

FOSTERED IN: Frankfort, IL 60423 ESTIMATED DOB: 09/2019 COLOR/BREED: Tabby and White Shorthair KIDS: Yes DOGS: Unknown CATS: Some HISTORY: Disney was from a hoarding situation and was transferred to us from an animal control facility. ABOUT: Disney’s foster describes him as “the friendliness of a dog, with the ease of a cat.” Disney is very affectionate, he loves attention and is even happy being held and hugged. He doesn’t have any off-limits petting zones, including the belly. Disney is a confident cat, so he will likely serve as the welcoming committee to any guests or visitors that you have. Disney loves being brushed. He is not much into toys. Disney is not being fostered with young children, but he loves everyone so we think he would do great with kids. Disney was previously housed at our adoption center where he did well with some cats, but was a little too forward with others and could push their buttons as he doesn’t seem to respect personal space. People are the love of his life, so he would be perfectly content as an only cat. We do not know how Disney would do in a home with a dog. Disney has a heart murmur so we had him evaluated by a cardiologist to make sure there were no concerns and we got great news: He is unlikely to experience progressive left heart enlargement and congestive heart failure since there is only a mild mitral valve insufficiency. Disney is FIV+ Is an affectionate, handsome boy exactly what you are looking for? Fill out the adoption application on our website www.luluslockerrescue.org. Story
FOSTERED IN: Schererville, IN 46375 ESTIMATED DOB: 08/2011 COLOR/BREED: Orange Tabby Shorthair KIDS: Yes DOGS: Possible CATS: Yes HISTORY: Mandarin came to us from a suburban animal control facility. ABOUT: Mandarin is 13 years old and is that great mix of active, social, and independent that so many people look for. Mandarin is still active and enjoys playing with balls, lasers, plush toys, and catnip. Mandarin is a great mix: he is energetic and playful, but also very independent and not needy. His foster said he is silly and loves to meet new people. Mandarin loves attention and is happy to sit next to you and on your lap but like many cats, he isn’t thrilled about being picked up. His foster thinks he would do equally well in a calm or active home, but he would appreciate the ability to have time to himself in an active home. Mandarin has met grade-school aged children and did fine - he will likely do fine with any children who are old enough to understand they can’t pick him up. Mandarin has been in our adoption center with other cats and is currently being fostered with another cat and does great! He doesn’t need another cat to be happy, but he does well with them and would be happy either way. Mandarin did briefly meet another dog and chose to hide, but his foster feels that he would likely grow accustomed to a well tempered dog that respected him. Mandarin is not a picky boy and he enjoys all kinds of treats. He does eat an over-the-counter food for sensitive skin as he seems to have itchy skin at times. Upon intake to the rescue our vet determined he had a heart murmur and recommended an echocardiogram. It was determined that he has Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy that is often genetic in cats. He does not need any medications or treatments. The cardiologist said his prognosis is good as there was no significant progression in his two echocardiograms done a year apart. They recommend repeating the echo every 1-1.5 years if the adopter wishes to monitor possible progression. More information and our adoption application can be found at www.luluslockerrescue.org. HISTORY: Burrito and her family (momma Taco Bell and sisters Chalupa and Gordita) were surrendered to a shelter and then transferred to our care. ABOUT: Meet Burrito. Story
FOSTERED IN: Adoption Center - Frankfort, IL 60423 ESTIMATED DOB: 12/2016 COLOR/BREED: Black and White Tuxedo Shorthair KIDS: Likely DOGS: Unknown CATS: Some HISTORY: Sugar Ray ended up visiting a feral colony - but the caretaker quickly realized he was not feral. ABOUT: Sugar Ray is an affectionate guy who loves attention and doesn’t mind being picked up and carried. He loves having his head and face scratched, but his foster has yet to find a place he does not enjoy being petted! Sugar Ray is outgoing and confident and is happy to greet visitors when they come over. Although he loves attention, he is not needy and won’t have any trouble if you work outside of the home or occasionally have long or irregular hours. He’ll be happy to entertain himself and watch the birds while you are gone. Sugar Ray is a bigger cat, but he does still have a playful side and enjoys catnip mice, kicker toys, and balls in tracks on occasion. He enjoys having naps in the cat trees or in bed with his foster mom. Be warned, his foster mom said he snores a little bit :) but his little voice and his meow are adorable and no one minds! His foster mom feels he is just so happy to be safe and loved. He will know a good home when he gets there and he will be so very appreciative and loving to whomever is lucky enough to adopt him. Sugar Ray was not fostered with any children, but his foster said he is very good with people and thinks he would do fine in homes with children. Sugar Ray was fostered with other cats, he gets along well with most, but there is one male he didn’t get along with, so he may do well with some cats, but not every cat. Sugar Ray’s foster thinks he would be completely content as the only cat who gets to enjoy all the love and attention. Sugar Ray was not fostered with dogs, so we do not know if a home with dogs will be appropriate for him. Sugar Ray is FIV+ Interested in adding one of our adoptables to your family?
