FOSTERED IN: Evergreen Park, 60805 ESTIMATED DOB: 5/30/2019 COLOR/BREED: Tabby Shorthair KIDS: Older DOGS: No CATS: No HISTORY: Josie’s former adopter surrendered Josie back into our care due to a terminal illness. ABOUT: Josie is Chatty, Independent, Affectionate, and Silly. Her foster said she is generally an independent cat, but she will let you know when she would appreciate some attention by meowing and rubbing on your legs and enjoys a good cuddle from time to time. Like the rest of us, Josie enjoys screen time and she is currently hooked on CatTV on YouTube. Josie isn’t a huge fan of cat toys, but she does love a good string or cord on occasion. When she’s done watching her programs, she enjoys taking long naps on soft blankets. Josie’s foster said she is, surprisingly, not a fan of tube treats, but loves individual treats like temptations. Josie also has no interest in wet food, a convenience bonus for her future adopter! Josie does love meal time and will meow if she hears you get up in the morning to remind you about the food bowl. Her foster said she has an especially sassy meow at meal times...if you’ve ever been hangry, you understand. Josie was originally adopted into a home with a pre-teen and teenager and she did well in that home. Her foster said she is very friendly and they also expect she would do fine with older children. She might choose to remove herself from any situation where children were too hands-on with her as she prefers not to be picked up. Josie’s current foster home has a dog, and Josie startles when she hears the dog bark and has shown no curiosity or interest in meeting him so a home with no dogs would be best for her. Josie’s foster home thinks she would do best in a quiet home. She does love attention, but isn’t terribly needy so she would prefer adopters who have similar needs of her. We were told by Josie’s previous owner that she would go outside the litter box at times, since she was returned to us in November Josie has not had any accidents in two different foster homes. We feel that stress was a component of her issues in the past and that she would do best in a home as an only cat, as that has been a consistent component across her new living situations. Josie must also strictly be kept as an indoor only cat. If you think Josie sounds like the perfect fit to your home, you can find our adoption application and more information on our website: www.luluslockerrescue.org.

Story
FOSTERED IN: Chicago, IL 60661 ESTIMATED DOB: 2022 COLOR/BREED: DSH, Orange Tabby KIDS: Older DOGS: Unknown CATS: Yes HISTORY: Oxford was brought to a local shelter when his dad was diagnosed with cancer and had to move from their home. ABOUT: Oxford is a handsome, short-haired orange tabby with a heart as warm as his coat. About 3 years old and medium-sized, this sweet boy may be a little shy at first, but with a bit of patience he truly blossoms. In his foster home, Oxford quickly showed that while new situations can make him nervous initially, he’s gentle by nature—never aggressive, just politely asking for his boundaries to be respected. Once he feels safe, he turns into an affectionate companion who seeks out pets, purrs happily, and even makes biscuits to show his contentment. Oxford loves human companionship and thrives on affection. He may not be a full lap cat, but he’s happiest curled up right next to you, especially on the bed or perched high on his beloved cat tree (or even the top of the fridge!). He enjoys medium-energy playtime with laser pointers, feather wands, and noisy balls, then balances it out with long naps and cuddle sessions. Oxford can be a bit chatty as he wanders around, so he’d do best in a quiet or somewhat quiet home where his gentle voice is appreciated. He does well with other cats given a proper, respectful introduction and is currently coexisting peacefully—and even playfully—with a resident cat. Oxford would likely do fine with respectful children and may be okay with a calm, cat-savvy dog, though he hasn’t been tested with dogs yet. Easygoing about food, excellent with the litter box, and free of special medical needs, Oxford’s best feature is undoubtedly how loving he is once he trusts you. If you’re looking for a sweet, affectionate companion who will happily keep you company and shower you with quiet devotion, Oxford might just be your perfect match. 🧡🐾 Interested in adding one of our adoptables to your family? Story
FOSTERED IN: Long Grove, IL ESTIMATED DOB: June 2021 COLOR/BREED: DSH Black KIDS:Yes DOGS: Some CATS: Some HISTORY: Pixel was adopted out as a kitten and is now up for adoption due to conflict with a resident cat and dog ABOUT: Pixel is a striking 4½-year-old black tabby with a silky, thick coat and a personality that shines just as brightly. She’s a confident little tripod—missing one front leg due to a birth defect—but don’t let that fool you: Pixel doesn’t know she’s any different, and it doesn’t slow her down one bit. Playful and energetic, she loves toys with motion, catnip pillows, and a good game of chase around the house, especially in the mornings. She’s also quite vocal, happily announcing her playtime and excitement with cheerful commentary. This sweet girl adores people and warms up quickly to new friends. The moment you sit down, Pixel is likely to hop right into your lap, purring contentedly while you give her favorite face, cheek, and ear scratches. While she prefers not to be picked up and isn’t a fan of having her paws touched, she more than makes up for it with her affection and lap-loving nature. Pixel is easygoing about food (though she eats with enthusiasm!) and has excellent litter box manners. Pixel would thrive in a quiet home where sudden loud noises and fast movements are kept to a minimum. She would do best as the only cat, but could live with a confident, non-territorial feline companion. She has done well with calm, low-energy dogs but is fearful of high-energy ones. If you’re looking for a loving, vocal, and playful companion who will happily keep your lap warm and your home full of personality, Pixel might be the perfect fit for you. 🐾💖 Interested in adding one of our adoptables to your family? Story
FOSTERED IN: Joliet, IL ESTIMATED DOB: March 2022 COLOR/BREED: Black and White, Domestic Short Hair KIDS: Older DOGS: Possibly CATS: Possibly ***********COURTESY POST FOR OWNER************************** HISTORY: Wilbur was found as a stray ABOUT: Meet Wilbur, a gentle soul with a playful spirit, despite his health challenges. At two years old, Wilbur has already captured the hearts of those who meet him with his sweet and mellow demeanor. While he faces the realities of being both FIV+ and FELV+, Wilbur's love for life shines through in his love for play, particularly with wand toys and toy mice. His playful antics are a testament to his resilient spirit, reminding us all to cherish each moment and find joy in the simplest of pleasures. Wilbur's affectionate nature extends beyond playtime, as he enjoys lounging on his cat tree and soaking up the sunshine. His calm and friendly demeanor make him a delightful companion for anyone seeking a feline friend to share quiet moments and cozy cuddles. While Wilbur is still learning to navigate the company of dogs, his gentle disposition suggests that he would adapt well to a canine companion with patience and understanding. Despite his diagnosis, Wilbur's capacity for love knows no bounds. He would likely thrive in a home with other FELV+ cats, as he craves the companionship of those who understand his unique circumstances. With the right environment and supportive family, Wilbur is poised to blossom into a beloved member of the household, bringing warmth, comfort, and endless love to those fortunate enough to welcome him into their lives. This is a courtesy post. If you are interested in adopting Wilbur, please contact Jody at Jody8714@gmail.com
