This is Echo. He is a very sweet and loving boy. His original owner decided they no longer wanted him, and abandoned him. They are in the military and they adopted Echo 10 years ago. This poor boy has gone from Florida to Georgia, to Utah, to California, to Hawaii, and now Illinois. I did not have it in my heart to take him to a shelter after all he has lived through, so I have done my best to provide him a loving home. Unfortunately, I travel often and also have a 2 year dog who likes to nag at him. This environment only adds stress to his life. This boy is nothing but deserving of a loving, permanent home. Hi! My name is Phoebe. I am around 2 years old. When I started my journey at St. Sophia's, I came in with my 6 babies after being found under someone's deck. I had a bad reaction to my initial vaccine, twisted my back, herniated a disc and I was paralyzed waist down for roughly 6 months. I had to undergo acupuncture, chiropractic adjustments, steroid therapy and much more to learn to walk again. I can move around now like nothing ever happened, and can often be seen perching up high -- I'll even run on the cat wheel at the shelter! I really love my cat friends but I’m unsure about humans at first (I’m sure you can relate) it does take me a little while to warm up but once I know, I can trust you I know that we can be best friends. I really do want attention its just shelter are so scary. I would love a home of my own to settle into so I can come out of my shell and get all the love I deserve. PEPPO HAS BEEN WAITING A YEAR IN A CAGE AT THE SHELTER FOR A HOME! PLEASE COME MEET HIM AND GIVE HIM A CHANCE!!! Meet Peppo! He is around 2 years old. Peppo is definitely a special little guy. He has a neurological condition is high energy and would do best with a cat savvy person. He absolutely loves to play so he will need to be adopted by someone who has the energy to keep up with him! He is leash trained and loves to go on walks to explore the world around him. Peppo came to St. Sophia's after we got a call stating that their neighbor had kicked out his cat with a bad eye infection and he was desperately trying to get back into his home and the neighbor's home. Poor little guy was terrified. A kind volunteer went over and snatched him up and he went right away to a foster home. His eye has been treated but since the infection had gone so long without treatment there is permanent scarring. He has minor vision loss but can still see and get around just fine! Despite what Peppo has been through he is still very loving. Due to Peppo being high energy he would do best in a home with no little kids. He is hit or miss with other cats but a proper introduction with another high energy cat might benefit them both. Peppo would be fine as a solo as well. He has not met a dog in our care.
