Story
Cat-Friendly!!  Does your cat need a pal?  Please meet Jodie!  Jodie was briefly at one of our adoption centers, but he missed being with his brother that was still with their foster.  One of the volunteers commented, 'Our experience at the center is that Jodie's big body hides a tiny kitty who doesn't feel secure in the world, especially around people.  He NEEDS other cats.  I can't emphasize enough that he really wants to be around other cats and takes comfort from them.'   Jodie is back with his foster and brother and is feeling calmer and enjoying belly rubs. We have no idea how the world was treating Jodie before he came through our doors, but we know he needed a friend to help him. If you have a cat that is looking for a feline friend, or if you are looking to adopt a pair of cats, please consider offering Jodie a home.  Thank you. Please submit our no-obligation Adoption Application for a meet and greet or to adopt:  https://forgottencats.org/adoption-application/.  Not ready to adopt?  Please consider fostering:  https://forgottencats.org/foster-a-cat/.   Thank you!  (Foster:  Vanessa H.)February 2, 2025, 6:03 am

Story
ABOUT TOBY! Meet Toby, our silly seven-month-old grey boy! This sweet boy came in to HAP after he had to have emergency surgery after he had eaten 12 hair ties and gotten blocked. After his surgery, he proceeded to try to eat the gauze that held his cone on. Needless to say, he has been well supervised since coming to us! Toby is a super playful boy, who loves to bat around the toys he's allowed to play with! He is a very social boy, who loves to be held and cuddled. He enjoys watching out the window at birds and squirrels, we think he'd love a TV buddy! *Because Toby has a history of eating things he should not, he must go to a home were small objects are locked up/kept out of his reach. This includes hair ties, feathers, string, ribbon, and basically anything small enough for a cat to swallow. **Toby is a little hissy with other cats, and we aren't sure how he'd do with a dog. Because of his tendency to eat things, he don't recommend he go to a home with small children. *** If you are interested in adopting this cat, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific cat but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! We may require all household members, including children, to come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, and a small bag of food to get you started.

Story
This new friend has just arrived! They have come to us either as a transfer from another shelter, being found as a stray, or have been surrendered to us by their owner. When our friends are new to us, we are typically unsure of their full background, litter box habits, comfort with handling, or experience with other pets or children. Our staff will spend some time reviewing any information provided by previous owners and spend some time with our new friend so that we can better update their biography. ABOUT PUMPKIN PATCH! Meet Pumpkin Patch, our beautiful one-year-old calico girl! This pretty lady was brought to HAP as a stray mama with her babies. We decided to give her a break, so we sent her kittens to foster, where they could learn to be a little sweeter! Pumpkin Patch is a strong-willed woman, as one must be when you're a single mom on the streets! She definitely prefers when things are done her way, though she isn't aggressive when things can't go her way. She enjoys hanging out with people, though she isn't much for snuggles yet. She likes to watch other kitties play, and sometimes she'll join in! *Pumpkin Patch does well with other cats, though she can be pretty dominant. We recommend she go to a home with no dogs and no kids. ** If you are interested in adopting this cat, please submit an adoption questionnaire!
