Story
Are you hiring? This working cat is seeking a job in a rural environment such as a farm, stable, or garden center where they can enjoy the freedom of outdoor life with the safety of a familiar place and a committed caretaker. Working cats span the spectrum of sociability, with some cats quite inexperienced and fearful of people, preferring to work from the shadows, and some cats who will eagerly rub against your boot and join you for your outdoor chores. Some working cats may amaze you with the mouse catching antics and athleticism, and some may be more hands off, discouraging pests with their presence and scent. Looking for a particular personality? Ask our team about finding the right cat for your environment. To set your new farm hand up for success, we recommend setting up a cozy, confined space replete with food, water, and litterbox. After a week or two of enjoying the amenities of their new environment they'll feel much safer staying put and getting to work. Have a big job? Ask our team about cats that may enjoy working in pairs or groups. All working cat adoptions are fee-waived, with spay/neuter surgery, vaccinations, microchip, and ear-tip included. Story
Such a ruggedly handsome guy! Cairo is looking forward to stretching out in a loving home of his own, ideally one where he can get both human attention and plenty of snacks. (He has been a Very Hungry Cat-erpillar here at the shelter!) Given some warm-up, he has displayed a curious personality and an appreciation of cheek-scratches. In his past life, Cairo is suspected to have spent ample time in the freedom of the outdoors. He may enjoy some form of thoughtfully managed indoor-outdoor access in his future home or, if transitioning to indoors-only, benefit from extra playtime and environmental enrichment to keep him mentally stimulated. He is recommended for a household with kids aged 10+ or no kids at this time. Cairo will likely appreciate gradual intros to any pets in his new home. Visit this intrepid feline today! Meet Cha Cha, a tenderhearted soul with a penchant for snoozing in quiet corners and making lots of biscuits. Her slightly insecure demeanor only adds to her sweet charm, making her the perfect companion for those who appreciate the gentle side of life. She's the type of cat who will offer you a comforting purr after a long day, or a gentle nudge when you least expect it. Cha Cha is recommended for a home without other cats or dogs. In her last family, she had an especially sweet friendship with the resident children, and may be a good fit for a home with other cat-savvy kids.
