Story
Name: Sailor Breed: Domestic Short Hair Sex: Neutered Male Age: 3 years Weight: 13 lbs Has Behavioral Needs Good with dogs? No, Sailor prefers a quiet, peaceful home with few surprises or stressors. Good with cats? No, Sailor would like to be a single cat. Good with kids? No, Sailor is best with adults who can read his social cues. Energy level: High! He is a very energetic and curious boy! He loves playing with different toys and zooming around his cat towers. He would do great in a home with someone who would spend time playing with him and help make sure he gets enough activity each day! Medical/Behavioral needs: Sailor can be very easily overstimulated, and really needs an adopter who will pay attention to his body language and give him space when he needs it. Animal Characteristics: Sailor is a cute, energetic buddy cat who loves following people around the house just to see what they're doing. He can be affectionate and snuggly, but definitely on his terms, and he gives clear behavioral signals to help his human understand him. He can be very talkative when he hangs out with you around the house! He may not want pets, but he's happy to trot along with you and chat with his cute lil meows as you go about your day. Sailor is just under three years of age and may mellow as he settles into a comfortable routine. Please learn more about the adoption process and fill out an application at www.pawsco.org/adopt/adoption-process. Story
Name: Graham Breed: Domestic Long Hair Sex: Neutered Male Age: 6 years Weight: 13 lbs Has Medical Needs Good with dogs? Yes, with a slow and proper introduction. Good with cats? He previously lived with other cats and enjoyed their companionship. He’d be thrilled to have a friend who is also FeLV-positive! Good with kids? Not Tested but may do well with kids that respect his boundaries. Energy level: Low, he loves to nap and cuddle. Medical needs: Graham is a special kitty because he is living with Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV). While this means he requires some extra care, he is still capable of leading a happy and full life. FeLV can affect a cat's immune system, so it's essential that he live indoors and receive regular veterinary check-ups to monitor his health. Please contact adopt@pawscoadoptions.org if you have questions about his medical needs. Animal Characteristics: Graham is a big, beautiful, sweet boy who deserves a loving, peaceful home where he can be pampered. He was abandoned and put outside to fend for himself when his prior owner became ill. Graham may be shy at first and seek out cozy boxes to snuggle into, then he is quite affectionate as he warms up to new humans. He will wind around your legs as you walk and rub against you! He is gentle, enjoys being petted and snuggling, and purrs with happiness. He’s also very talkative and will meow adorably for attention and company! Why should you consider adopting an FELV cat? Adopting a FeLV (feline leukemia virus) cat is an act of pure love and compassion that can bring immense joy to your life! These special kitties, despite their unique challenges, are just as playful, loving, and deserving of a forever home as any other cat. Here's why you should consider welcoming one into your heart and home: 🌟 A Unique Bond: FeLV cats often form incredibly close bonds with their humans, cherishing every moment of love and attention you give them. 💖 They Deserve a Second Chance: FeLV-positive cats are sometimes overlooked in shelters, but they have so much life and love to share! By adopting one, you're giving them the chance to thrive in a safe and caring environment. 😻 Loving Companions: FeLV-positive cats are just as affectionate and full of personality as other cats. They’ll fill your days with purrs, cuddles, and endless cuteness. ✨ Quality of Life Matters: These cats might have a shorter lifespan, but what truly matters is the quality of the time you spend together. Your home can be their sanctuary, where they can live happily and comfortably. 🏡 A Special Kind of Heroism: Adopting a FeLV-positive cat means becoming a champion for the underdog (or undercat!) and showing the world that every life, no matter the challenges, is worth celebrating. By choosing to adopt an FeLV cat, you’re not just rescuing them—you’re making your life brighter and more meaningful. They’ll teach you lessons in resilience, gratitude, and unconditional love. 💕 Please learn more about the adoption process and fill out an application at https://pawsco.org/adopt/adoption-process. Story
Name: Missy Breed: Domestic Short Hair Sex: Spayed Female Age: 9 years Weight: 11 lbs Good with dogs? Missy tolerates, but does not engage with, the 65lb dog in her foster home. Good with cats? Not Tested Good with kids? Not Tested in her foster home, but in her prior home, she seemed troubled by the loud noises and unpredictable behaviors of young children. Energy level: Medium. She will play with a wand toy and run around for a while, then settle down to relax next to you. Medical/Behavioral needs: Missy appreciates a peaceful, safe home and has, in the past, been troubled by loud barking dogs and noises of young children, leading to occasional instances of going #1 outside of her litter box. Placing her box in a quiet, secure area will keep her most comfortable. Animal Characteristics: Missy is a calm, even-tempered cat, ready to become your partner in snuggles! She thrives in quieter environments, and after a little decompression time, you’ll notice her full, bright personality come out to shine! She is cautious but friendly as she meets new people, and enjoys cuddles as long as people are not loud. She may curl up to sleep with you and make happy biscuits overnight! Missy is a sweet, sensitive, affectionate cat who will do best in a peaceful forever home. She may thrive as an only pet, and she has enough love to share that it will fill your home!
