Story
Hello, it is hard to be writing this as Ms. Muffin has been such a dream cat to have in my life for the past 13 years. She is the best cat I could ever imagine sharing life with and I unfortunately I just moved again and am hoping to find her a home where she can receive all of the proper love she deserves. She is excellent in behavior with people, lives to cuddle and roll around. She could sleep on you all day every day if allowed. Not high energy, very chill and low maintenance, extremely litter box trained. Can eat kibble or raw food. She loves to be inside and also go outside. No voice box, makes a slight crackle sound when she rarely tries to meow like most Russian Blues. All in all, she is my favorite cat I’ve ever met, and deserves more love than my new job and living space can provide. She’s lived in many places and is quick to adapt to any situation. Please reach out for any more information. Thank you!

Story
Mochi A318302 came into the Shelter as a stray from a property where there were a handful of cats. A few days later, Dorayaki A318408 came into the Shelter as a stray from the same property. Staff reunited the gals and it was immediately apparent that they were so happy to be together again – grooming each other and generally less stressed together in the Shelter. Mochi and her sister Dorayaki are a bonded pair that are looking for a special guardian. They are both long haired and arrived at the Shelter matted. They will need regular grooming (daily brushing and, potentially, scheduled grooming appointments with a professional) to ensure that their hair stays in tip-top shape. These gals are also a bit reserved at this time. This may be related to being in the Shelter but may also continue as they enter their adoptive home. Patient, cat savvy adopters that will set them up in a quiet, safe place and allow them to grow comfortable in the new home is required. We do not have any history of these cats with other cats, dogs, or children. Mochi & Dorayaki`s adoption fee is 2 for 1 to encourage adopters to keep them together. Now through February 15th, we are hosting “Adopt Your Valentine” where adoption fees are reduced to $50. The adoption fee includes all age appropriate vaccinations, spay/neuter and microchips. Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.

Story
Looking for a Home for Chloe!!! I’m trying to find a loving home for my grandma’s cat, Chloe. She’s 7 years old—shy at first but turns into the sweetest, most loving cat once she gets comfortable. She just needs a little time to adjust, especially to loud or deep voices since she was used to my grandma’s tone. A little about her: - She’s very low-maintenance and is both an indoor and outdoor cat. - She’s super curious, likes to explore and hide behind curtains and furniture. -No health issues. One of her eyes is a little smaller and tends to tear up, but no medication or treatment is needed for this. I’d love to take her myself, but I can’t bring her back to college. Chloe would do best with someone patient enough to let her settle in at her own pace. If you or anyone you know is looking for a really chill and sweet cat, please let me know! There is a small re-homing/adoption fee, please reach out for more information.

Story
Callie is a beautiful, sweet tortoise shell calico cat. She is approximately 5 years old, and she is an indoor-only cat. She doesn’t scratch furniture, only using her scratching post to tend to her claws. She is a talker; and communicates with kitty meows when she wants to tell you something. She loves to gaze out windows and loves being petted. She enjoys taking cat naps most of her day, but runs a few laps to get her exercise. She is comfortable with a cat-friendly dog, but does not get along with other cats. We inherited Callie when my mom passed away last year, and despite our best efforts, she fights with our other cat, which is not a healthy environment for either cat. Therefore, we are looking for a happy new home for Callie. ln new situations, and with unfamiliar people Callie is timid at first, but once she knows you, she is very friendly and affectionate. She would be a wonderful companion for an adult couple, single adult, senior citizen or a family with older children.

Story
We adopted this beautiful extroverted kitten in the fall time, and unfortunately, she has not taken to one of the other (shy) cats in our home, so we are needing to rehome her. She has an exuberant personality and is very sociable with most other cats, if they like to play. She is charming with humans as well, doing very cute things like nuzzling against legs. She is sometimes cuddly and affectionate with humans, but mostly prefers a company of cats - at least in this point of her development. She is trim, beautiful, and super healthy and has not had any health issues under our watch. She does not seem to shed much, which is delightful because her medium and long black hair would otherwise get everywhere! But it does not. We got her at the Santa Cruz animal shelter, where she was spayed in the fall time. We think she was born in the beginning of April of last year. We will miss her, but we know she will be better off in a different home! We are asking for a rehoming fee of $50.
