Story
Chai is an incredibly sweet and loving cat. He’s got a great mix of playful energy and calm cuddles, always ready to hang out and keep you company. He’s friendly with everyone and has a way of making you feel at ease with just a little purr or a nudge. It’s hard to let him go, but unfortunately, due to circumstances, I can’t keep him anymore. I know he’ll bring just as much joy to someone else’s home as he has to mine!

Story
KC is a beautiful 7 year old long hair calico, who came to us from a local shelter recently. She was in a community cat room with other cats, including her cat friend "Vie". With a proper introduction she might do well having a cat friend in her new home. She gets along just fine with the dog in her foster home. Understandably a little shy at first, KC warms right up with gentle pets and a calm touch. She enjoys being with people and is sweet, talkative and affectionate

Story
Meet magical Merlin! Merlin is a very friendly, curious and handsome 10 year old gentleman of a cat who loves people, being pet by people, being brushed, keeping you company, having conversations and warming your lap. He will also keep you company on your bed at night. He’s does have a little bit of a catnip ‘problem’. Shhhh, don’t tell him, he doesn’t think so- Merlin was surrendered to a local shelter when his guardian had to move into a living situation that was unable to include him. Merlin is an easy going, mid-western boy at heart, having originally moved to California from Nebraska at a young age. He’s hoping his next move won’t be quite as far. He has lived with other cats in the past but may be picky about his cat friends. He has so much presence and purrsonality he’s really the only cat you need. Did we mention he’s a ‘people’ cat? He’d probably be just fine with respectful kids. Merlin does require a urinary diet to help keep him healthy and happy. Can you make the magic happen for Merlin and give him his forever home? He’s ready to meet you!

Story
Violet is a sweet and gentle 16-year-old brown tabby that was adopted from AFRP as a kitten, and returned to our care when her guardian had to move to a senior living facility. Violet is a happy, affectionate, talkative and curious cat that will be a wonderful companion for anyone looking for a mellow feline friend. She is a wonderful lap cat and enjoys being near her person. She gets along with other friendly cats and might do okay with a gentle, respectful dog. Give Violet a soft blanket and gentle petting, and she is in kitty heaven! Violet is in good health though she does have a condition known as Chronic Feline Rhinitis. This common condition is likely due to a non-fatal virus she acquired as a kitten. This causes Violet to experience congestion, nasal discharge and sneezing. Potential adopters can rest assured that a cat with chronic rhinitis is safe to have alongside other cats. It's similar to humans having a common cold. It's unlikely to spread to other feline companions. With proper care and management, Violet can lead a happy life alongside her furry friends without posing a risk of making them sick. Scheduling appropriate veterinary check-ups and implementing hygiene practices will help ensure a harmonious and healthy environment for everyone. As a result, Violet's adopter will need to work closely with their veterinarian to monitor Violet's health and prescribe a course of treatment when necessary. Violet will come with low-cost wellness care through AFRP's clinic as a part of her adoption! Violet is currently in foster care. Meet and greets can be arranged once your online application has been received and approved. Visit www.animalfriendsrescue.org for our required online application.

Story
Introducing Minerva! Minerva, affectionately known as "Minnie," is a sweet and sensitive 5-year-old longhaired tortoiseshell looking for a very patient and understanding adopter experienced in helping shy cats blossom. Minnie lost her lifelong home when her elderly guardian moved to a residence that couldn't accommodate pets. This life change was traumatic for Minnie, and while she is making strides, she needs time and love to fully adjust to new surroundings and people. After a long period of patience and care in her foster home, Minnie finally felt safe enough to enjoy sitting on her foster mom's lap, and now, it's a cherished part of her daily routine. She loves her quiet evening bonding time, purring contentedly as she soaks up the affection. Once she trusts you, Minnie becomes a gentle and loving companion. She's also wonderfully well-mannered, with impeccable litter box habits, a healthy appetite, and excellent grooming skills. Minnie would thrive in a calm, indoor-only home without children. She would be happiest as a single pet but might coexist peacefully with a gentle cat or dog that respects her need for space. Small, cozy areas are her safe havens, though she also enjoys a cat tree or a sunny window to watch the world go by. Minnie adores her hideaway box and may always prefer its comfort when she needs a moment to herself. While she's not a fan of being picked up and will need mild sedation for vet visits, Minnie's quiet charm and gentle spirit make her incredibly rewarding to love. Shy cats like Minnie have so much to offer, and in the right home, she will repay your kindness with a lifetime of gratitude and heartwarming purrs. Minerva is currently in a foster home. A meet and greet can be scheduled once an online application has been submitted and approved. Visit www.animalfriendsrescue.org today to complete an online application.
