Story
Kay gave birth in a baseball dugout, because who needs a hospital when you've got a dugout, right? It was the only safe place she could find, and at 8 months old, she was basically a baby herself. What she didn't know was that the summer heat would be unbearable in the dugout, but luckily a Good Samaritan came to her rescue. Since then, her babies have been adopted. Mama Kay is getting some much-needed rest and enjoying living indoors, playing with toys and living her best life. Kay does well with other indoor cats but is still fearful of dogs. She may learn to enjoy the company of dogs with a very slow introduction but a cat only home might be the best option for her. Kay is a petite and a bit shy but loves to curl up in your lap once she gets to know you. She would love to join a family of her own. Can she stay with you? Story
How this pet arrived: Hollow was brought in by his previous owner on November 16, 2025.Why this pet is the one for you:Meet Hollow - don't let the spooky name fool you, he's more about lap time than haunting hallways. Right now, Hollow is still a little overwhelmed by all the changes in his life and is looking for a calm, dog-free, kid-free kingdom where he can decompress. He'll need a safe space to call his own while he gets comfortable, but once you're "in" with him, you'll have a loyal lap cat and chatterbox companion. Hollow is all about pets (from trusted humans only, thank you very much), cozy laps and using his meow to politely (or not-so-politely) request your attention. What he's not about: being picked up, held or treated like a stuffed animal. Respect his boundaries, and you'll earn a cat who will happily stick by your side. Pro tip: Hollow is a refined gentleman who insists on more than one litter box, each kept sparkling clean - because nobody likes a dirty bathroom. When you come to whisk him off to his new home, don't forget to bring a sturdy cat carrier. Hollow may not enjoy the car ride, but he'll appreciate the safe, secure trip to the quiet castle he's been waiting for!Shy/Fearful Cat:  This pet requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about them. At SDHS:This pet has been vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. This pet is now ready for their new home! Primary Color: Blue Weight: 12.1 Age: 2yrs 3mths 1wks

Story
How this pet arrived: KC was brought in by her previous owner on November 4, 2025.Why this pet is the one for you:Meet KC - a lovely little enigma wrapped in fur. She's beautiful, independent, and has opinions about... bathroom real estate. KC has a bit of a history with skipping the litterbox, and while the exact "why" remains one of life's great mysteries, we suspect she wasn't thrilled about sharing her space with another cat and may also have some early kidney changes. KC is looking for a drama-free home - no dogs, no other cats, and definitely no chaos. Older kids who understand the concept of "personal space" would be perfect. A calm environment and a dedicated "KC Room" to help her reset her litterbox habits will set her up for success. She may take her time to settle in, but once KC feels comfortable, she'll reward your patience with quiet companionship and her own brand of quirky charm. Think of her as a cat with main character energy - she just needs the right stage to shine. Don't forget to bring a cat carrier for a safe ride home!Overstimulated Cat: KC requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about them. Story
How this pet arrived: Tabby was brought in by her previous owner on September 17, 2025. Why this pet is the one for you:Meet Tabby - one of the ultimate golden girls of the cat world! This lovely lady believes life is best enjoyed with a soft bed, a sunny window and a little peace and quiet. At first, she may play the "shy wallflower" card, but once she's had a chance to settle in, her sweet and gentle personality shines through. She's not looking for parties or chaos - just calm companionship and someone who truly appreciates the fine art of lounging. Tabby dreams of a home where she can enjoy her retirement in comfort, basking in sunbeams, supervising bird activity from the windowsill and politely requesting pets when the mood strikes. If you've got a cozy couch, a sunny spot and room in your heart for a darling golden girl, Tabby is ready to be your quiet, loving companion for life.At SDHS:This pet has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed.
