Story
Notes from the foster:I have had `Fraidy` since Dec 1, and she is SLOWLY opening up! She still hides under the bed a lot, but always comes out to eat in the kitchen, scurries past me, and sometimes I find her in the living room when I wake up. She doesn`t come up onto your lap by choice, but does meow like she WANTS to (but isn`t quite there with the full trust yet)!Every night she comes up onto my bed while I am laying down in the dark, and gives a cute `meow!` and allows me to scratch her chin, body, pet her, but keeps just the right amount of distance to be able to bolt in case a fast move or sound frightens her. She is slowly gaining trust! I have hope she will get better at it. She is afraid of toys, and does not come to a call, but she played on a handmade cat mat that is infused with catnip the past few days, and she likes to jump up on my window sill behind the curtain. She doesnt allow me to pick her up, or cuddle, but she sleeps next to me on the bed in her little bed. So it is getting better!

Story
Nate is a suave, easy-going guy with super soft fur who adores cheek and forehead scratches. Nate is an affectionate, curious and playful guy—showing his playful spirit and zest for life. And he loves attention! He will start out timid with new people and changes to his living space so he will do best with people that have experience and patience and the willingness to encourage and support him through his adjustment to a new home with new people. It will be worth your effort and won't take him long to show his personality. Once he knows a person and feels comfortable in his new space, Nate is a real charmer. Nate may do fine with a cat-friendly dog and/or another cat in his new home. He has done well with cats in his foster home that are confident with another cat and not reactive. We believe he would do fine in a home with children over age 6. Nate is FIV+ but is in good health and is expected to live a normal life, both in quality and duration. Estimated birth date is early 2022. Kitty Bio# 3876MB-Na. Story
Apple is a big sweet kitty with an even bigger personality. He is a handsome lynx point Siamese tabby mix with a short tail. He's a strong alpha male. He can’t help but be the center of attention because he is vocal, social and engaging. Apple is smart, independent, and doesn’t hesitate to add his opinion. While not a cuddler he loves being petted. He will be more your pal and companion than your fur baby. He likes to interact and play with other cats and toys. Apple must be on a prescription food diet to prevent urinary blockage. The diet has kept it well under control and will be necessary for the rest of his life. His ideal guardian or family is one with experience reading cat body language and who can be confident and firm with him as well as gentle to gain his trust. He needs an adults only home preferably with another cat and would probably be OK with a calm dog. Estimated birth date is September 2020. Story
Are you an independent person? If so you will likely understand an independent cat. Pip is your girl. She is smart, independent, and sensitive. Sound like you? You might be a great match for this adorable, furry soul. Respect one another, allow space, and connect when it's mutual and you will be on good terms with her. Pip will seek out a pet every now and then on her terms. She wants her alone time and doesn't want to be stressed by too much activity or noise. She is fostered with other pets and it's a bit much for her. She will probably do best as a solo pet. Pip needs to be respected and honored in terms of her wishes for closeness—or not. She is happiest when in charge of her destiny. She enjoys playing. Pip seeks out affection and purrs contentedly when held after a nap, but on her terms and she'll let you know when she is done. Her gentle hiss is not mean way, it's how she communicates. She is fairly accepting of strangers and will probably connect to a new family quickly if you are patient and savvy to her. Pip is a great cat but needs to be honored and cherished as an independent creature. We estimate Pip was born on September 1, 2023. Kitty Bio #348LRa-Pi.   If you're interested in adopting this or another of our cats, please fill out our adoption questionnaire at http://icraeastbay.org/adopt/how-to/.October 26, 2024, 8:31 am
