Story
I was found in a common dumping area, but my foster mama made sure I had food, water, and love until she could bring me to safety. Now I’m happy, healthy, and ready to find my forever home! I’m a lowrider mix of many breeds, which just means I’ve got a one-of-a-kind personality. I love to play in the yard, explore, and peek around corners with my adorable underbite grin that’s sure to make you smile. If you’re looking for a sweet, playful companion with a big heart (and short legs!), I’m your pup! Local adoption fee is $200(in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Meet Leila & Skyla — Two Senior Sweethearts Looking for a Lifetime of Love If you’ve been hoping to add double the love, double the charm, and double the snuggles to your home, look no further than Leila and Skyla! This precious bonded pair of medium-small senior ladies (about 25–35 pounds each) is ready to make your life brighter in every way. Leila, a gentle 9-year-old Rat Terrier mix, is the steady heartbeat of the duo. Happy, affectionate, and endlessly loyal, she’s the anchor that gives her best friend comfort and confidence. Skyla, an almost-8-year-old brindle Corgi mix, is a bundle of sweetness with a shy side. She tends to feel nervous when Leila isn’t close by, which is why these two absolutely must be adopted together. When her best friend is near, Skyla blossoms into a playful, happy companion. Both girls have been spayed, microchipped, and are up to date on vaccines and flea/heartworm prevention, so they’re all set for their new beginning. Their adoption fee is just $100 for the pair, because true friendship is priceless—and these two come as a perfect package. Leila and Skyla are hoping for a calm, loving home where they can spend their days inside with their people, enjoying cozy beds, short walks, and plenty of affection. All New Leash dogs are to be primarily indoor pets with supervised outdoor playtime only, and these two are more than happy to follow that routine. If your heart and home have room for two wonderful companions who already come with a lifetime of love for each other—and more than enough to share with you—Leila and Skyla may be your perfect match.

Story
George is the perfect farm dog. He loves being right at the heels of his owner. My guess riding in the cab of a truck would make his day. Not high energy at all personality is the same at all times.George has all the typical Corgi traits especially herding. After you earn his trust you will have the best buddy ever. Great with other dogs. Loves being outside. Needs some leash training g but he is so smart it should not take long.George is one of 5 dogs surrendered by theowner to the local shelter. One of the 5 was a RR dog, so we took in the other 4.  George needs a foster or adopter to help him know love and learn to have fun.Available dogs are met by pre-approved adopters ONLY after a match is made. The application is the first step. Please complete the adoption (or foster) application here: https://www.russellrescuetn.com/application-for-adoption/We do not have any paid staff members. We are 100% volunteer powered. Story
We are officially taking adoption applications for Winnie the five month old Corgi who was attacked by a dog and had we believe nine broken ribs. She is healing amazingly and can start being a dog in about two weeks and we are so excited for her! We generally only adopt out to a 90 minute radius of Nashville, TN. A couple of things to note about both Winnie and the process… •We believe we will be overwhelmed by applications so we will be accepting applications starting Monday, January 12th and will close the first stage of applications at end of day on Wednesday, January 21st. We will then evaluate the first round of applications and will plan on doing a few few back-to-back meet and greets with the best fits on Sunday, January 25th. •It does not seem as if Winnie had any training at all before she came to us, so please keep in mind that she is an extremely active young mouthy Corgi puppy •We do not believe that Winnie has been spayed and we will ABSOLUTELY NOT adopt her out if we get even a hint that she could possibly be used for breeding. She will need to be spayed in the next couple of months and we will get it in writing in a contract that if she is not spayed within a certain time frame (and we will follow and monitor and ask for written confirmation) then she will be returned to us. Period. We are not in the business of breeding. &#239&#191&#188We will also be doing a home visit before we begin her trial. •&#239&#191&#188We do believe that especially because of her unique coloring that she probably was purchased from a breeder, and we are fairly certain she is a purebred Corgi which means she is a hearding dog and she is ridiculously intelligent and picks up on things very quickly – but it would be nice if a potential adopter had Corgi experience. •Winnie is currently in a home with cats and a 10-year-old and does OK with both but does want to play with the cats so she would probably do good in a home with another dog that is active that could keep her active and engaged, and probably would do best with a slightly older child. Remember… she is an untrained mouthy puppy! •We have had one professional training session with her and she did amazing and picks things up so quickly and &#239&#191&#188her fosters are working on things with her so she won’t come totally untrained. And we would be more than happy to provide additional sessions if needed. But please remember that Winnie came to us injured so though she has been with her fosters for about five weeks now, they haven’t been able to make the strides and training that you would normally be able to if you had a healthy puppy. Winnie has been on such intense activity restriction that their training has had to be skewed to work on things that didn’t allow her to be active so she will only be able to fully puppy after the next couple of weeks. •We do think that Winnie would be good with another dog in the home but again, because of her activity restriction, we haven’t really been able to explore socialization with her. She has been around other dogs a couple of times and seemed very interested but was on such activity restriction that we have not been able to fully socialize her and dog test her. We will be working on that as soon as she is opened up to be a dog.   January 13, 2026, 2:09 pm
