Story
Location: Ogilvie, MN Hi guys! My government name is technically S'mores, but these humans I've been crashing with have been calling me "Stumpy" so I've been just going with it. I actually really like them calling me that...so it's the only thing I'll come to now. I recently moved in with these folks after livin' my entire life on the streets. I was born and raised out in the elements with, like, a LOT of other 4-leggeds like me with little to no 2-leggeds contact. I can't lie, it's been a weird transition for me and I'm still trying to get used to it, but I've definitely been enjoying life on the inside! Since I knew no other life than being outside, I guess that's helped me naturally know that I have to potty out there because I've never gone in the house! I always wait until it's time to walk the land. This lady I'm bunked up with calls me a "good baby" 67 times an hour, especially after I go potty outside, so I guess I must be doing alright. These humans really seem to like that?! Weird. Anyways... As much as I do love this living inside business, I still get the urge to run like the wind sometimes since it's in my roots, so I have to walk around on this long rope thing...and occasionally, it makes me throw a quick tantrum, but I'm doing much better with it. I'm fine, everything's fine! Since I grew up with so many family members to keep me company out there, it's been really nice to have another dog around to make me feel more comfortable. He and I play a LOT and he's definitely my favorite in the house. I get pretty sad when he's not close by. I don't think I'd ever be able to live anywhere without a fur buddy, that's for sure. I guess I'm one of those "Anxious Attachment Style" kinda guys. Whatever. I do like the humans, too...especially when they give me bites of that stick cheese thing. It feels pretty nice when they give me pets and scratches. Lately, I've been starting to let them pick me up and cuddle me on the couch for a bit. ONLY for a bit though...cause I'm still learning this whole "domesticated" thing and that humans aren't scary. Affection is awkward for me, but I'm working on it. They respect my space and this journey I'm on, so that's really cool. It helps me gain some trust each and every day. I know moving in with someone new will be a rough one for me, since I'm just getting used to these guys...but, with a little time, effort and patience with me...my foster lady says I'm going to "make one heck of a good companion!" because I'm "such a sweet boy". She did say that. You can ask her. I'd definitely prefer a quiet home, a calmer home. Little humans really aren't my thing, they kind of freak me out to be honest. I need an easy-breezy lifestyle where I can just be my chill, lazy self with a bigger 2-legged or two and definitely a 4-legged friend that wants to play like me. I just need a little corner for my crate/bed and a few toys that I can drag in there when I need some me time, that's all I ask. I'm more than cool with laying in my crate and snoozing while the humans are away. In fact, I prefer my crate a lot of the time. It's my safe zone and I love it! I guess I'll wrap this up now cause it's almost time for dinner and I loooooovvveeeee to eat...maybe too much because for a stray I'm quite a chunk! Anyways, thanks for reading my bio and although I'm still a little rough around the edges, I'M JUSSA BABYYY and I'll get there eventually, I promise. Hope to meet you soon! -Stumps McGee --------------- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, heartworm test (dogs), FIV/FeLV test (cats), dewormed, and microchip implant (including registration). Rescue Network is strictly foster based which means all adoptable animals are in a home and there cannot be a meet until an application is submitted and approved. We have no way of knowing the breeds in the animals. All breeds listed are best guess.
