Story
This is Abel! He is a big cuddle bug who loves toys and playing outside with adults and kids. He just turned one this past April and is about 85lbs give or take. He is the typical big dog who thinks he's a lap dog. He loves to give hugs and kisses. We would love to keep him, but we've had some unforeseen circumstances that prevents us from keeping our big baby. Abel loves to run around outside and lay out in the sun and bake, he also loves to play in snow and loves water play. his favorite thing to do outside when it's hot is to eat the water as its coming out of the hose. He does great with bath time and nail trimming. He does very well with walking on leashes and not tugging. He is a very shy boy and is slow to warm up to new people and dogs, but he is truly the sweetest and kindest, and it breaks my heart to find him a new family. Ideally, I would love to see my boy go to a new home with big fenced in yard where he can run and relax and have friends to play with.

Story
ZEUS Male, neutered 9-1/2 Cane Corso 105 lbs. Microchipped, up-to-date on core vaccines and takes monthly flea/tick/heartworm prevention Zeus had a family that had to move without him and were devastated to leave him behind at the shelter.  LOVEPAWS couldn't bear the thought of Zeus spending Thanksgiving alone in a noisy and overcrowded shelter so we sprung him the day before the holiday.   Zeus is looking for a quiet home without a lot of hustle and bustle where he can live out his golden years on a soft bed in front of a warm fire (aren't we all?) He's being fostered with a 15 year old female dog that is not very snuggly with people or other animals, but she adores her foster brother Zeus and they have to be touching each other while sleeping in the same bed! Zeus also lives with a cat in his foster home that wants to be friends with him, but he's not sure what to think of her, so he just co-exists and naps on the bed with her too. Foster mommy describes him as a big ol' love muffin! He LOVES all women and older, considerate kids! He needs a little time and slow intros to warm up to men but once he warms up, he's a total love muffin! He's a strong boy and is working on leash manners. He loves carrots as a healthy snack! He really enjoys playing with toys and chewing on Nylabones. He's an adaptable boy and can be a chill couch potato or go for a walk! If he sees you touch his leash, you better be ready to walk him!  Zeus loves scritches and pets so much that he'll stand beside his foster mom while she's on the computer working and nearly falls asleep standing up while she pets him and runs the back scratcher up and down his back. He's a silly boy! Zeus on his daily routine: I wake up, go potty in the yard with my foster sis Koda, chow down on breakfast then nap the day away with Koda until foster mommy comes home. When she gets home, I see her touch the leash and give her just enough time to get her shoes on before I start jumping at the leash for WALK TIME!!!! After working up an appetite on my walk, I eat dinner, go out for a post-dinner potty break, and come inside to snuggle with foster mommy (I make sure to get lots of pets!). I retreat to bed around 7pm after a long day and hope mommy and sis join me soon! We think senior dogs rock and have a lot of love and joy to bring to their adoptive families.   Interested in adopting? Of course you are! Submit an application here!  July 5, 2024, 1:15 pm

Story
Meet the stunning Big Blue, a 2-year-old Cane Corso mix weighing an impressive 98 pounds. With captivating green eyes, he's sure to grab your attention! Big Blue, crate trained and in the process of house training, is neither destructive indoors nor outdoors and isn't overly vocal in his foster home. Responsive when people call him over, he does well on car rides and walks well on a leash too.  This energetic fellow would be a great running partner as he really enjoys running around and is very active! He loves to play and also loves small pillows.  While he thrives around people and is good with kids, he is selective with other dogs, favoring larger females over small dogs and males (absolutely no male / small dogs and no cats in his future home). He plays well with his foster’s large female dog and others he’s met.  A fenced yard is required for Big Blue’s forever home and it would be ideal if his adopters have experience with his breed as they are not for everyone! Again, applicants must not have male dogs, cats, or small dogs. Please don’t wait, he’s a serious catch and will not be available for long!!!  DISCLAIMER- Breed type is determined based on general appearance and behavioral characteristics and cannot be guaranteed unless DNA test results or AKC registration were provided at intake. ***MOST OF OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN TEXAS, BUT AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION AND TRANSPORT OUT OF STATE. Read below for more information. Our dogs are transported to a predetermined location agreed upon by the rescue. The adoption contract and fee are finalized prior to transport. As a Pep's Pals Rescue direct adoption, the adoption interview/meet and greet occurs on video call (Skype, FB Messenger call, Facetime, etc).  Our adoption fee is $350 plus health certificate and transport (varies by location). This fee includes all current vaccinations, deworming, microchip (additional $12.99 registration fee required at time of adoption), fecal analysis, spay/neuter for dogs 6 months & older, and a heartworm test if over 6 months old. All dogs are current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. A health exam will be completed and a health certificate issued by a veterinarian within 10 days of transport. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Fill out an Adoption Application HEADLINER : Meet Lapis. If that beautiful gray, brindled coat doesn’t grab you, just look at those mesmerizing blue/gray eyes!  HISTORY: Lapis, her mother and 9 brothers and sisters were owner surrenders. PERSONALITY : Playful, sassy, smart, independent (but loves attention).  FAVORITE ACTIVITIES : Playing with her toys and her canine friend, Birdie, eating, sleeping and ice cubes! This girl will come running at the sound of a refrigerator ice dispenser. MEDICAL ISSUES : At four weeks old, Lapis (the runt of the Gem litter) had to leave her brothers and sisters as her mother sat on her and broke her tibia (boy did Mom have a big butt!). The wonderful doctors at Partner Veterinary repaired her leg and now, Lapis is all healed up and ready to find her people. The doctors at Partner recommended that Lapis have a six- month follow-up appointment with a canine orthopedist for an evaluation, with x-rays, to ensure the proper growth and alignment of her leg.  WHAT WOULD BE THE BEST KIND OF HOME : Lapis would love a home with another playful pooch that would also help teach her all things “dog.” She would also do best in a home with adults and older, respectful children as well as someone that has breed experience. ADDITIONAL OBSERVATIONS / COMMENTS: Lapis will need to continue to work on her house training as well as work on what is and what is not appropriate to chew on (toys yes; ankles no). She is currently not a huge fan of the heat and will tell you when she thinks it’s time for her to go in so trips outside when it's hot should be short. Application Fees, Adoption Donations and Rescue Policy: Please know that 100% of our fees and donations pay for the costs of rescuing dogs. These include but are not limited to pull fees from shelters, veterinary examinations, vaccinations, medications and care, microchips, neuter/spay surgeries, heartworm treatments, behavior evaluations, and foster care, as needed. **Puppy Adoption Policy: To ensure proper house training and socialization, puppies will only be adopted to homes where an adult will not be away more than an hour per day, per month of age of the puppy, up to 6 months. Certain large-breed dogs should not be sterilized prior to 12 - 18 months of age. If you adopt an intact puppy, you will sign an adoption contract agreeing to have the dog sterilized at your expense at the time your veterinarian recommends. Proof of sterilization must be provided to Mastiffs To Mutts Rescue as soon as the procedure is completed. If the puppy is not sterilized as required, Mastiffs To Mutts Rescue reserves the right to claim legal ownership of the dog.  Important notes before applying. Adopters must have their primary residence in one of the following states: Pennsylvania, Ohio, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia, and parts of North Carolina. We will not adopt giant breed dogs to renters. Homes with children under 6 years of age will not be approved for adoption. Homes with children should have a fenced yard. Pets currently in the applicant's home must have a history of appropriate veterinary care. Homes with intact dogs will not be approved for adoption.  Proof of any of the following exceptions is required: The intact dog is a working member of a law enforcement, or search and rescue/recovery team. The intact dog is registered under the auspices of the American Kennel Club and is actively being shown. A veterinarian has determined the sterilization procedure would harm the intact dog.  We believe in Force Free Training Methods and do not approve of methods or devices using pain or force to control the dog, or to deter undesirable behavior.  Homes with highly varnished steps must have carpeting, securely fixed stair treads, or a non-skid surface. **We encourage you to remediate potential safety issues while your application is under review, prior to the home visit. For additional information please review our FAQs or contact mastiffstomutts@gmail.com **Mastiffs To Mutts Rescue reserves the right to approve or deny any adoption that occurs through this organization without disclosure.  We reserve the right to make exceptions for special circumstances. **PA Kennel License: 05845Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.   July 6, 2024, 11:34 am

Story
The following is a description of Hubert from his foster mom. Because, honestly who knows a pup better than the foster family! Hubert was found alone and scared on the interstate in Mississippi. When a nice lady stopped for him, he ran right to her. His foster family has had him vetted and neutered, and now they are treating his heartworms.  Hubert is about two years old. He is super cuddly, housebroken, crate-trained, and such a smart boy! He knows sit, stay, and down, and he will run to his crate and sit when you tell him to go to bed. He loves people and his toys, but he wants to chase the cat, and he is too high energy for the grumpy, elderly dogs in the home. So once Hubert has completed his heartworm treatment and is back to his active self, he hopes to have a forever home waiting for him. If you would like to make Hubert a part of your family please follow the link below to his adoption application https://forms.gle/APKvbgFJcaRvgKgk9
