Story
Demeter is approximately 1 year old and weighs 70 pounds (with room to grow) Demeter (Duh-mee-ter), also known as Momma D, was abandoned on a logging road, heavily pregnant, the day after Christmas. Less than a week later, this very young mother gifted us with 11 puppies! Being a first time Mom, Demeter was very confused by the whole situation and with more sweetness than we could have hoped for accepted help from a staff member upon their first meeting! I don't know about you, but a Cane Corso, in a new and scary environment, giving birth for the first time is not a dog I would expect to accept help from a stranger. But Momma D is not your typical Cane. This gorgeous girl spent the next 8 weeks allowing her new besties at the shelter to assist her in the enormous task of caring for 11 giant babies! Her pups were transferred to Oregon Humane Society in Salem, where they were all spayed and neutered and adopted within a week. Demeter was SO RELEIVED to be free of her litter and has since blossomed into a playful, funny, curious pup! She seems very interested in making friends with other dogs, and a canine companion may be just what she needs to continue to come out of her shell. Like most Cane Corsos, Demeter is initially wary of strangers and will bark at doors, fences, and gates, but warms up very quickly. Our goal for Momma D is for her to go to a home that will keep her socially active and friendly with everyone she meets. Story
Titan is approximately 2.5 years old and weighs 105 pounds! There just isn't enough time or space for us to tell you all the reasons we LOVE Titan! This giant ball of fluff is just the sweetest Gentle Giant, and an absolute delight to be around. Titan came to us with some long-term skin and eye infections that are now all healed up and he's ready for his forever home. Previous owners told us that Titan has been in fights with other male dogs in the home, and although we've had no issues between Titan and other dogs here, we are strongly suggesting that Titan go to a home without other dogs. With a dog this big, do you really need more dogs? Titan is housetrained, playful, loves to go for walks and rides, and deserves to receive as much love as he puts out into the world.
