Story
Juno is a very affectionate dog and a fast learner. He goes with the flow, so if you enjoy walks and playing, he will go too. If you prefer to be at home, he will do that too. He rings a bell at the door when he has to go potty or he will stand at the door. Although he is good with kids, he may need additional guidance with those under 9 until he gets used to them. All supplies (crate, ramp for entering trunk of SUV, bar to keep dog in trunk area, slow feeder, nail grinder, raised water bowl, chew bone) are included as I will not be getting another dog. The most important thing is finding him a good home.

DISCLOSURE: The adoptable pets in our program are still in the care and custody of owners who wish to re-home their pet. Owners have enlisted Rescue Well to provide marketing and screening of applicants as a service, free of charge. All fees and adoption conditions are determined by the owner. We advise that adopters do not send payment or deposits for pets prior to adopting.  ***** Angel is 2yo, weighs 92lbs, is intact (however, her guardian will arrange for spay surgery prior to rehoming), is up to date on her vaccines, and is microchipped.  Angel's guardian adds:   "Angel knows 'sit', 'down', 'paw', and will wait to eat on command.  She dislikes/fears balloons, vacuums, bikes, and car rides (she's very anxious).  She's permitted free roam of the house during the day except for bedrooms, and she sleeps on her bed or in her crate at night. Angel currently eats Authority Sensitive Stomach + Skin Lamb & Rice Formula.  Angel deserves a stable home with someone that is able to give her attention 24/7 rather than being home and occasionally walked by different dog walkers/house sitters or in boarding places… She’s also not fond of car rides so bringing her is not an option even though I’ve tried.  It hurts but I know she deserves so much better than I can offer her. I’ve went back and forth about it for months now and it’s finally time for me to make the best decision." Angel's guardian explains why she has made the difficult decision to rehome her:  "Moving in August and starting a job that will require me to travel and be on the road a lot." Angel's guardian offers a brief a medical history:  "Environmental allergies and we help this by wiping her completely down with Pet MD Chlorhexidine Antiseptic Wipes after coming inside from walks or playing, cleaning her crate tray every other date, minimizing dust in the house or collected on her crate, and washing her blankets and beds weekly.  Vets recommend allergy shots; however, we've used the above methods as a cost efficient way to maintain her allergies instead and it works wonders."   Angel's guardian states the following regarding children:  Angel has lived with and lives with young children, ages 3-5, so her guardian recommends her living with children, stating... "Angel is very playful and LOVES attention.  She is a gentle giant with kids of all ages.  She can get overly excited and overestimate her power when kids are excited but she knows to calm down on command.  She grew up with my daughter who was a very curious and hyperactive 3 year old.  She’s never reacted to my daughter pulling her tail, moving her food, taking her toys, or anything. We worked on all of those reactive behaviors since she was a puppy." Angel's guardian states the following regarding dogs:  Angel lived with another dog, so her guardian recommends her living with dogs, stating "Angel has lived with another dog her age for a short while.  They played very well together after being slowly introduced." Angel's guardian states the following regarding cats:  Since Angel has never lived with nor otherwise been around cats, her guardian doesn't recommend her living with cats. Angel's guardian describes her as: Very active Playful Friendly Likes to be touched Affectionate Protective Always at your side Indoor dog Outdoor dog House-Trained Crate-Trained Likes men Likes women Angel's guardian describes her ideal future home: "Angel’s ideal family is one who is very active and lives in a single family home with lots of space for her to roam.  Fenced backyard is a plus but definitely not required.  A family with young / middle aged kids that love to be outside and can play with her is also a plus!  She will get tired and so will they! ;)" Rehoming Fee:  None Location:  Edgewood, MD***** ADOPTION PROCESS  1. We advise that adopters do not send payment or deposits for pets prior to adopting.  ***** Diesel Coal is of cane corso/lab/pit mix, is 5yo, weighs 77lbs, is neutered, is microchipped, but is not up to date on his vaccines.  Diesel Coal's guardian adds:  "He is such a loving boy who wants only love and to be able to trust in someone who won't hurt him.  He is alone at home 10-12 hours/day, is crated during the day and night, dislikes/fears the vacuum and other dogs, and is active but great during car rides.  I try healthy foods such as Pure Balance at Wal-Mart."   Diesel Coal's guardian explains why she has made the difficult decision to rehome him:  His guardian recently experienced an abrupt and unexpected housing situation and the premises in which she currently safely/securely lives doesn't offer enough space for his comfort. Diesel Coal's guardian states the following regarding children:  Diesel Coal lives with children (starting at age 6 and up and are currently 13 and 11yo), so his guardian recommends his living with children, stating "Loves to be petted by kids and play games of chase with a ball, not much of a fetcher". Diesel Coal's guardian states the following regarding dogs:  Diesel Coal hasn't lived with dogs, so his guardian doesn't recommend his living with dogs, stating "He will sometimes whine and growl". Diesel Coal's guardian states the following regarding cats:  Although Diesel Coal lives with a cat, his guardian doesn't recommend his living with cats, stating "He likes our cat, but she doesn't like him..lol..he boops her with his nose, paws her to play or chases her".  Diesel Coal's guardian describes him as: Very active Playful Affectionate Independent Protective House-Trained Crate-Trained Likes men Likes women Diesel Coal's guardian describes his ideal future home:  "Diesel Coal would best go to a family who will love him unconditionally be patient and able to train him better.  Maybe a couple or older kids as he still is a big guy and can knock over small kiddos." Story
Meet Brooklyn – Your New Best Friend! Brooklyn is a 1-year-old, 100 lb Cane Corso with a heart as big as her paws! This sweet girl is full of love and loyalty, always ready for belly rubs and attention. She has a playful personality, enjoys exploring outside, and has a strong passion for digging and collecting (okay, eating) sticks. Brooklyn is not spayed, so her new family will need to consider that. She thrives in a home where she can get plenty of exercise, structure, and affection—ideally with someone familiar with large breeds or willing to learn. She is looking for a home that: ✔️ Can provide daily exercise and mental stimulation ✔️ Will shower her with love, training, and structure ✔️ Has experience with large breeds (or is ready to learn) ✔️ Understands her playful digging habits ✔️ Can give her the time and attention she deserves Brooklyn is gentle, loving, and eager to please, making her a wonderful companion for the right home. Story
ZEUS Male, neutered 9-1/2 Cane Corso 105 lbs. Microchipped, up-to-date on core vaccines and takes monthly flea/tick/heartworm prevention Zeus had a family that had to move without him and were devastated to leave him behind at the shelter.  LOVEPAWS couldn't bear the thought of Zeus spending Thanksgiving alone in a noisy and overcrowded shelter so we sprung him the day before the holiday.   Zeus is looking for a quiet home without a lot of hustle and bustle where he can live out his golden years on a soft bed in front of a warm fire (aren't we all?) He's being fostered with a 15 year old female dog that is not very snuggly with people or other animals, but she adores her foster brother Zeus and they have to be touching each other while sleeping in the same bed! Zeus also lives with a cat in his foster home that wants to be friends with him, but he's not sure what to think of her, so he just co-exists and naps on the bed with her too. Foster mommy describes him as a big ol' love muffin! He LOVES all women and older, considerate kids! He needs a little time and slow intros to warm up to men but once he warms up, he's a total love muffin! He's a strong boy and is working on leash manners. He loves carrots as a healthy snack! He really enjoys playing with toys and chewing on Nylabones. He's an adaptable boy and can be a chill couch potato or go for a walk! If he sees you touch his leash, you better be ready to walk him!  Zeus loves scritches and pets so much that he'll stand beside his foster mom while she's on the computer working and nearly falls asleep standing up while she pets him and runs the back scratcher up and down his back. He's a silly boy! Zeus on his daily routine: I wake up, go potty in the yard with my foster sis Koda, chow down on breakfast then nap the day away with Koda until foster mommy comes home. When she gets home, I see her touch the leash and give her just enough time to get her shoes on before I start jumping at the leash for WALK TIME!!!! After working up an appetite on my walk, I eat dinner, go out for a post-dinner potty break, and come inside to snuggle with foster mommy (I make sure to get lots of pets!). I retreat to bed around 7pm after a long day and hope mommy and sis join me soon! We think senior dogs rock and have a lot of love and joy to bring to their adoptive families.   Interested in adopting? Of course you are! Submit an application here!  November 6, 2024, 6:04 am

Story
Willa Wagtail here, where `Willa` is my first name and `Wagtail` describes my profession (a rather efficient naming system that I`d recommend for general use; any `David Doctor` or `Tamara Teacher` out there??). My previous chapter in life was not a great one, but this has not deterred me to live up to my reputation. I arrived here with my tail wagging, and it has not stopped since. I love being close to people -- my theme song could be `lean on me` in which I walk in front of you and block your way, so you have to lean on me. And boy, do I love me come pats and head scratches. I am also known to be calm and curious about other dogs -- I am an overall gregarious, well-liked gal. I do bring with me some basic manners (like `sit` and leash-walking -- I am getting five-star ratings for these skills here) and I`d like to say I am pre-dispositioned for acquiring additional skills as long as there are decent incentives and rewards involved. Who needs a happy, tail-wagging, musically inspired Willa in their life? If that`s you, your search has just ended (successfully).
