Story
Meet Nena!!! We thought that this girl would have been adopted by now, but here she sits. Nena is a 1.5 year old Cane Corso x Pit mix. She was surrendered by her owners due to a lack of time. This low rider irresistibly chonky girl weighs about 85 lbs. Her favorite pass-times are playing with staff, lounging on a comfy dog bed in her kennel and of course, treats. She has the most beautiful markings. Nena can be a scaredy cat when she first meets new people, but the key to her heart is baby talk and belly rubs. Nena is housetrained, and knows the commands "sit", "lay down" and "give paw". She passed her cat test and can be an alpha with other dogs, but seems like she is pretty dog friendly overall here. Her adoption fee was graciously paid for by United Piping, and she is FREE to a wonderful committed home. We have had her spayed, microchipped, vaccinated and she is heartworm tested negative. Please call 630-553-9256 or email animalcontrol@Kendallcountyil.gov, OR stop by during our open business hours to meet her!

Story
Dog's Name: Gracie Location : Fort Atkinson, WIAge or Date of Birth: July 2021 (estimate)Gender: FemaleBreed: Cane Corso MixFoster Dog's Weight: 83 lbs Gracie gets along with:Dogs?: Female dogs Needs a slow introduction to other dogsCats?: Unknown but unlikely due to prey driveKids?:  Older kids, needs slow introduction Gracie is very loyal and stubborn, she loves her person and is very protective of them from both strangers and other dogs. She prefers to spend her time following her person around the house and snuggling. She plays well with her younger (but bigger) foster sister, but doesn't always play well with her foster brother (bigger) and gets protective of her foster sister if she is playing with my male. Gracie has shown aggression towards her foster brother, but listens when sheis told no or to stop.  She snores like a freight train and likes to lay in her kennel at times, she is kenneled at night and when her foster mom is gone. She does have aggression tendencies and is frightened by strangers (which triggers her aggression).  Her perfect adopter would not have any kids or other pets (could potentially have a female non-dominant sibling with slow intros and strict boundaries to not allow her to exhibit alpha behavior). The ideal adopter would be knowledgeable of guardian breeds and preferably willing to put in the strict training (with or without a trainer depending on experience) to continue to work on her previously stated behaviors.  Due to her high prey drive, she will need constant supervision outside if her home does not have a fence. Story
Beyonce is a two-year-old Cane Corso mix weighing in at 70 pounds. This gentle giant is an affectionate and fun-loving lady who is always eager to spend time with people. She has a heart full of love and enjoys getting belly rubs, rolling over to show her belly whenever she’s seeking attention. Beyonce is highly food-motivated, which makes her a joy to train. She knows commands like "sit" and "wait," and she responds well to positive reinforcement. Beyonce is friendly and social, having been great with everyone she's met, including a 3-year-old and a 3-month-old. She's also dog-friendly, making her a great companion for a home with other pets. Her playful side shines when she’s enjoying toys, especially bones, Kongs, and puzzles, and she loves spending time in the yard. Despite her energy, she is a quiet dog at the kennel and has never been heard barking. She is very trainable, listens well, and comes when called. Whether it’s for a car ride or some fun in the yard, Beyonce is always up for an adventure. With her affectionate nature and goofy personality, she is sure to bring plenty of joy and love to any home. If you’re looking for a loving companion who will give you all the snuggles and belly rubs you could ask for, Beyonce may be the perfect match. Her adoption fee is $100, plus a $15 fee for rabies registration for McLean County residents. She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
