Story
Hi, I’m Ryla.   I’m newer to the rescue and my foster home is still getting to know me. Feel free to submit an application if you might be interested since our approval process can take a couple days. Dog’s Name: Ryla Location: Waukesha, WI Age or Date of Birth: 06/01/2025 Gender: Female Breed: Cane Corso Color: Black Dog's Weight: 56lbs Gets along with: Dogs?: All Dogs Cats?:  Unknown Kids?: All kids Training: Crate Trained - goes to crate/kennel on command Car - Rides well in the car Does great at the vet Meet Ryla! Ryla is a sweet girl who is very new to rescue and just beginning her journey in a foster home. As she settles in, her foster family is getting to know her personality, preferences, and routine. What we do know so far is that Ryla is taking everything in stride and deserves a patient, loving home where she can continue to decompress and thrive. What Ryla Needs in a Home: Patient, understanding adopters who are willing to give her time to adjust and show her true personality A calm, structured environment where she can feel safe and secure Adopters who understand that new dogs need time, consistency, and positive guidance Perfect Adopter:Because Ryla is still settling in, she would do best with adopters who have some dog experience—giant breed experience is a plus, but not required for the right family committed to learning. First-time giant breed owners may be considered if they are prepared to work with rescue guidance and training support. Other Dogs & Yard: We are still learning how Ryla does with other dogs; slow, thoughtful introductions will be important A fenced yard is recommended, especially while she is adjusting and learning her new routine, but this may change as we learn more about her needs Ryla’s story is still unfolding, and her foster family will continue to share updates as she shows us who she truly is. If you’re looking to open your heart and home to a dog who just needs a little time and understanding, Ryla may be the perfect match for you. Story
Dog’s Name:Tank Location: Carlock, Il Date of Birth: 11/1/2021 Gender: Male Breed: Can Corso Color: Fawn Dog's Weight: 100lbs Health & Vetting Fully Vaccinated: Yes Neutered: Yes Gets Along With Dogs: Yes — gets along with all dogs Cats: No — not good with most cats Kids: Yes — loves kids Training & Skills Leash Trained: Walks nicely on a loose leash Crate Trained: Goes to his crate/kennel on command Potty Trained: Signals when he needs to go out; no indoor accidents Car Rides: Travels well in the car Personality & Story Tank is a big-hearted boy who is learning to trust again as he decompresses in his foster home. Despite being 4 years old, he still has plenty of puppy energy and a youthful spirit. Tank is a classic Velcro dog—he wants nothing more than to be close to his people, especially the kids in the home. He knows his name and basic commands like sit and inside. While he may be a little skittish when meeting new people, he has an excellent judge of character and warms up quickly with patience and gentle interactions. Once he trusts you, he’s incredibly loyal, affectionate, and eager to please. Ideal Forever Home Tank would thrive in a home with kids, as they are truly his favorite people. He enjoys the company of other dogs and would benefit from a canine friend to help him burn off energy through play. Cats are not the best match for Tank—he may chase, so a no-cat home or one with older, calm cats would be ideal. A fenced yard would be wonderful for him to run and play safely, but it isn’t required. The most important things for Tank are companionship, structure, and a family who will give him the love and patience he deserves. Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Meet Gator! The biggest (and softest) weenie of them all. This GORGEOUS dude came from a hoarding case and has not had the easiest start. Despite his rough start and living with 23 other Corso's, this guy is a gem. Gator is dog friendly, sweet, kennel trained, willing, and very eager to please. His body moves around like a fish out of water and his only goal in life is to be loved on and maybe secure a spot on your couch. If you want an absolute show stopper of a dog with meatballs as brains, this is your dude!

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
If you like them B I G and docile, this is the gal for you. This sweet princess came in needing a second chance after she ended up with our shelter partner. Her and a few of her friends were removed from a property in need of a second chance. Shyly is big and sweet. She is shy until she knows you, but never offers any concerning behavior. She walks well on the leash, is comfortable in a kennel, and is just a big baby. She is fine with dogs that are not overly excited and jumping on her. She will coexist with a lower energy dog perfectly. Due to her size she would do best in a home with kids over 10. This girl is about 3 and still has so much life to live. If you want a friend to help you get outside this summer, she would love a family to head out and adventure with. Come meet his sweet girl.

Story
Edith is a very sweet senior Cane Corso who was disposed of in Waukegan after a lifetime of being used and discarded. She is estimated to be 11–13 years old and has endured years of overbreeding, neglect, and cruelty no animal should ever know. All Edith wants now is a soft bed, gentle hands, and to know that she matters. She absolutely loves quiet pets and cuddling, and despite everything she has been through, she remains forgiving, resilient, and full of grace. Edith is nearly sixty pounds underweight, yet somehow unfazed by her past. She is simply ready for the good life she has deserved all along. She is asking for comfort, kindness, and a home where she can spend whatever time she has left feeling safe and loved. Please help us give Edith the ending she deserves. Whether through adoption, fostering, sharing her story, or supporting her care, you can be the reason this chapter of her life is filled with love.
