Originally a Craigslist purchase (bad idea!), she was surrendered after a stint with a family unfamiilar to the breed, including a young child with whom she didn't quite connect. Since being in her foster home, she has mastered crate, leash, and house training. Connie's heart finds joy in car rides, and the great outdoors beckons to her adventurous spirit – hiking and walks in the woods are her jam! Her ideal home is one where she can revel in peace and tranquility, preferably in a rural setting with a human home during the day. I love to play with other dogs and I'll do anything for a treat. I can even "shake" on it! I am a little selective with new people, so Im ay need an extra meet and greet before going home. Once I know you're a friend, I will love you unconditionally and always. I'm not a fan of kitty cats- they scare me so no feline friends for me unfortunetly. I do great overnight in my kennel and am house-trained. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis areas twice monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual. We will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports to Colorado and Iowa, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). For transports to St. Louis, the additional fee is $50 to help cover gas. Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! All of our pets are neutered or spayed, have vaccinations appropriate for their age, treated with flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormed and dogs are also microchipped. #adoptdontshop ##1801113##
