Story
Ruby is a six year old American Pitbull Terrier/Cain Corso mix from a hoarding case where she endured physical abuse and many hungry nights. We suspect that Ruby was born and raised in that environment and has never received exposure to the outside world. Due to this, it takes Ruby some time to warm up to you.Once she does, she is an in your pocket type of pup! A wonderful sponsor is willing to cover my adoption cost of $225.00 so I can be adopted and enjoy being someone's best friend! All adopters must be vetted and approved to adopt from FOCCAS.Ruby has a way of making you feel wanted, when she greets you with a wagging nub and sweet face after a long day! She is very quiet and doesn't mind other dogs but would do best with a Male. She likes long walks and is doing well with leash training, and knows sit, down, touch and shake already! She does excellent when her foster mom bathes her and clips her nails, and is very patient. She is sweet and gentle until something scares her, then she jumps. She's good on a leash until something startles her, then she pulls.... And she's strong. She's a beautiful girl. Loving and gentle, loves attention but hates excitement. She's not a guard dog, she'll hide behind you in the threat of great danger, or if a butterfly scares her. Quiet, soft, and sweet Ruby, she wants to be right at your feetFOCCAS is a foster based, non-profit rescue in Crossville, TN. The adoption fee Includes Age-Appropriate Vaccinations (DA2PPV, Bordetella, Rabies), Deworming, Spay/Neuter, Microchip, Flea/Tick/Heartworm Prevention, and Sheltering. Adult Dogs are Heartworm Tested and Treated as Needed. FOCCAS does not DNA test or guarantee breed. My adoption fee has been donated by an anonymous donor!!! If transport is needed, $300.00 will need to be added to cover extra vetting and testing requirements by the department of agriculture and transport fees (out of state, East Coast, Great Lakes or New England regions). Story
Welcome Bob to CCPAL Rescue. He is a 5.5 year old Cane Corso/Mastiff mixed dog. He is about 70 pounds and he is very sweet. He is now ready for his forever home. He is an adorable bubble blower and he had the most adorable drool on the video. If you love the Mastiff breed then you know they drool. It is a part of their charm. He will be a loyal boy and he is lower on the energy scale. He was extremely happy to be walking her at the rescue. We have been spending lots of time getting all the adult dogs good on leash. He has a lower coat and not a huge shedding dog. He would be great for an older couple looking for a large and lower energy companion. He would also be good for a family where the man works out of town and he wants to know his kids and wife feel safe with a dog watching the scene. He is healthy and getting vaccines. He is neutered and ready for his forever home. He is in Texas and can be adopted locally. We work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is $300 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states. Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Online applications at www.ccpalrescue.org See his cute video!!

Story
Welcome Jacks to CCPAL Rescue. Jacks is an 11-month-old Cane Corso/Australian Heeler. He is very affectionate, knows sit, loves water and can open a fence latch. He is a smart boy. He really is attentive and has had a wonderful foster before entering the shelter. He is wonderful at sitting when you ask him to sit. A carabiner is adequate to block him from flipping the latch of the gate open. This is what we use to secure the gate of his kennel. We don’t think he is the type that wants to run away. He is smart and bored in his kennel is all. He is a great dog and we think he would be a great hiker, walker and companion dog for an outdoor enthusiast. He loves all people and doesn’t seem at all bothered by strangers. He is friendly to everyone. He would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 and older due to his size. He weighs about 60 pounds and looks to be a good weight. He has a beautiful blocky head and with the harness on he was relatively easy to walk. We are looking for a moderately active family for this dog. We think he is very handsome and is going to appeal to men because of his beautiful head and athletic build. He is neutered, vaccinated, healthy and ready for his forever home. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally in Texas. We can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get this gorgeous dog to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the east Coast. His adoption fee is 300 and transport is 200. . ***Cane Corso or similar breed experience will only be considered*** Grace Age: 3-4 years old Breed: Cane Corso Size- Large – 80-95+ lbs Dogs: YesCats: NoKids: No At 4 years young Grace has had a very rough start in life. Found dumped in a park with a harness embedded in her and two torn ACL’s, we can’t blame you Graceson for not liking most people. This beautiful girl loves to love, if you are in her circle you are in!! As if she didn’t already draw the short straw in life, Grace has some neurological issues. Her brain (more specifically cerebellum) isn’t fully grown and never will be, so please excuse her goofy gallop and gait walk. That doesn’t stop Grace from being the happy go lucky free spirit she is! Don’t worry her friends at MHS along with her medical team are keeping a close eye on her and though she may look like she’s struggling, Grace is living her best life and not in any pain! Grace is available for adoption at the Meriden Humane Society. If interested in fostering or adopting, please fill out an application! https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=meridenhumanesociety&method=online_form_html&formid=27

***Cane Corso or Similar Breed Experience Required*** Name: HannahBreed: Cane CorsoAge: 1-2 years oldKids: Over 12Cats: TBDDogs: SelectiveMeet the lady of the hour, the mama of our Corso Crew, Hannah! Hannah joined the MHS family shortly after her puppies were surrendered to us and is ready for her forever home! This beautiful girl is as strong as she is sweet and absolutely loves her people! Hannah walks wonderful on a leash, knows all here basic commands, and is as loyal as they come! This lady loves people, but in typical Corso style will look to her people to be sure that new friends are okay. Hannah is super smart but also has the total goofball personality, so we are saying kids over 12, because Hannah loves to play and jump on her people when excited. Two of Hannah's favorite things are rolling over for belly rubs and her stuffed animal toys! We are requiring a home with prior Cane Corso or similar breed experience.Hannah is UTD on her vaccinations, will be microchipped and spayed. If you are interested in Hannah, please fill out an application today!Note, Hannah is only available for adoption to CT residents. https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=meridenhumanesociety&method=online_form_html&formid=27

Story
PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet. We've been duped! We were told by Tank's previous adopter that he was not good with male dogs. THIS IS NOT TRUE. I reached out to his former foster family here in Arkansas and asked them about it. Turns out, Tank's best little buddy at their house was their 5lb male chihuahua. Tank played with him and also cuddled with him and shared his toys with him. He also allowed his little friend to groom him by opening his mouth and allowing Nix to lick his teeth. After hearing this, we arranged for Tank to meet another male dog today, and he did amazing! He even gave his new friend a kiss on the face. Tank has shown no aggression to him at all. They went on a joint walk together and just hung out and he was a perfect gentleman. There was a lot of incorrect info given to us by his previous adopter, who turned out to be a complete nut case. It's a very long story, but after doing some digging, we found out that she had many (I don't have a number, but the vet we talked to said many, many dogs) die of unknown causes while under her care. So many that she has been flagged by the vet hospital where she was taking them for cremation. We only found this out because she was trying to adopt another dog from us, and we found out another dog in her care had died suspiciously, so we started making some calls and doing some digging. She got extremely angry when confronted about the dog who died. We ended up being able to get Tank back, which took an act of congress and a lot of money, but we don't care about that. We are just so thankful that he is safe. So, this is what we know as facts, from his former foster family and his current foster family, who are trustworthy sources. We don't know why she would tell us lies about him, but nothing she said or did made any sense, so here we are.The FACTS:Tank is a LOVER, not a FIGHTER. He adores his foster sister, a mastiff mix, and shares everything with her. He was fantastic with all of the dogs in his foster home in AR. He absolutely adores all people - adults and kids, male and female.Tank is HOUSETRAINED 100%Tank is CRATE TRAINED 100%Tank is LEASH TRAINED 100% - he has excellent leash mannersTank is a GENTLE, KIND SOUL who has went through hell and lived to tell about it. But despite his hardships, he holds no grudges. He loves everyone equally. He did chase cats in his former foster home, which is the one and only drawback.Last FACT - HE NEEDS A HOME. This senior boy knows what it means to have it rough, making him all the more appreciative of a soft bed, and most of all, affection. He is cuddly but not demanding at all. He is low key, and very easy to have in your home. He just needs someone to give him a chance to show them. He has all the love in the world to give to a new family. He would love to have kids to cuddle with, but that is definitely not a requirement for his happiness. He will be happy with affection from any member of the family. He doesn't ask for much, but he deserves the world. Please message me today if you can offer this sweet hippo a good, loving home. He is not as big as he looks in these photos - he is short to the ground but thick at about 65lbs. Please share him to help find a good home. He is currently located in New Hampshire.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Our typical adoption fee for puppies younger than 6 months old is $400, and for older puppies and adults, the usual fee is $350. This includes microchip, spay/neuter,  up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, dewormings, flea/tick treatment, and heartworm test (if over 6 months old) as well as heartworm treatment if they test positive. There is a transport fee of $150 per dog, depending on the transporter. We use Pack Leaders Rescue Dog Transport most often, but also use Hearts Transport as well on occasion.
