Story
🐶 Gentle, Mellow, Laid-back Sweetheart!!! 🐶 I have this dream every night... I’m snuggled up with you on the couch, giving you gentle kisses and happy stubby tail wags as we Netflix and chill together. In my dream, I’m finally home. I’m safe. I’m loved. And best of all... I have YOU! 🫶 Hello! I’m Cricket — a cool, calm, collected and confident 4-year-old Cane Corso mix girl. I’m 82 pounds of cutie-patootieness, wrapped up beautifully in a stunning, soft and shiny coat. I have every volunteer here under my spell….and you’re next! 🥰 When you first approach me, I might play it cool — maybe even wander off to check in with one of my trusted volunteer friends. But give me a little of your time and attention, a few tasty treats, and sprinkle in some sweet baby talk… and voilà — you’ve won me over! Before you know it, I’ll walk up to you very gently, follow you around loyally, and happily settle at your feet when you sit like we’ve been best friends forever. 🥰 My mostest favoritest thing in the whole wide world is running around the yard with a toy (or two!) and then dramatically flopping over for belly rubs — paws in the air, the toy still happily clutched in my mouth as I soak up the sunshine. Ahhh… bliss! 🧸 Following at a close second is going on sniffaris. I walk well on the leash, but true to my breed’s hunting instincts, when I see a squirrel, my inner Nancy Drew kicks into high gear and I’m ready to lead the search party. Can’t let that Ph.D. in Squirrel Spotting go to waste, eh? But when my volunteer buddies call me back with a cheerful “Come back!” and a “Good job!” (plus, a tasty treat 👀)—I happily refocus my attention on them and continue our walk like the good girl I am. 🐾🐕‍🦺 When it comes to other doggos, I tend to be a bit picky! I seem to have a preference for calm, polite doggos. If you have a dog, please bring them along for a supervised, on-leash meet-and-greet. 🐕🐕 I picture myself happiest with a person or family who enjoys long, leisurely walks by my side. After we’ve explored the world together, I’d love nothing more than to unwind at home—lounging on the couch with my favorite toy, just enjoying your company. And oh…one small thing to keep in mind – because of my prey drive, I’d do best in a home without pet birds or small animals. 🙂 Please…let’s spend some time together and see if I might just be your furever baby. Being part of your family would truly be a dream come true for me. ✨ ## See video of Cricket at the end of the photo gallery! ## TVAR.org/find-your-pet-adopt/dogs-puppies/ Cricket’s Shelter ID# is 88940. She is an approximately 4-year-old, black, Cane Corso mix. She currently weighs around 82 lbs. She has already been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed and is ready to go to her new home! Cricket is located in kennel A-1. Her adoption fee is $35, plus licensing (if applicable). The cost of her spay surgery will be sponsored! ** Age shown is an estimate only ** THIS IS A COURTESY POSTING If you are interested, please call the East County Animal Shelter at 925-803-7040 to see if this dog is still available.

Story
Meet Indie… aka your future shadow, snuggle bug, and professional belly-rub enthusiast 💁‍♀️🐾 This gorgeous girl has the most expressive eyes and stunning coloring—you’ll catch people doing double takes everywhere you go (yep, she’s that pretty). But her real superpower? Loving her humans BIG. Indie is a total people-girl who will happily follow you from room to room like your very own adorable assistant… except her only job is cuddles. And speaking of cuddles—get ready. Her signature move is the full-body wiggle greeting followed by an immediate flop for belly rubs. No warm-up required 😂 Indie also has a soft spot for her stuffies—she carries them around like prized possessions (and somehow doesn’t destroy them… we love a gentle queen 👑). She’s been great with kids and other dogs, making her the perfect addition to just about any loving home. Right now, she’s in school (yes, she’s a smart girl!) working on her basic commands, leash skills, and polishing up potty and crate training. She’s sensitive, eager to please, and takes corrections like a champ—basically the dream student. Indie is looking for a family who’s ready to keep building her confidence and give her ALL the love (and belly rubs) she deserves. If you’re searching for a loyal, snuggly, slightly goofy best friend… she’s your girl 💕

Story
What can we say about our sweet, handsome Tiki Boy? SO MUCH! We’ve had this dapper 2 year-old Cane Corso/Dane/Bully mix in rescue for about 8 months now and he is barely recognizable from the dog we saved from the euthanasia list. Tiki was dumped at the shelter, and we don’t think he ever knew life outside of a backyard or that humans could be kind before we took him in. When we met Tiki, he avoided eye contact and human touch, wouldn’t hold his head up, and was scared of every little thing (even the wind). While in foster, he’s been exploring the world and gaining confidence each day, and, most importantly, learning what it means to have the safety and love that he deserves. He has truly blossomed and is showing us more and more each day that he is a super silly and affectionate giant puppy dog. Tiki is best friends with his 130-pound mastiff foster sister and would love a home with another doggy friend to play with! He is respectful and kind with his foster cat sibling too! He is gentle and sweet with his six-year old human foster sister as well, and we think he’d do excellently in a home with older kids. This pup is an active boy and a guardian breed who needs an owner who is committed to meeting his exercise needs (he’s a great running/biking partner!), continuing his socialization, and respecting his boundaries. These dogs may be slow to warm up, but they are incredibly loyal and protective of their pack, and the love they give is truly something special once you have it! Tiki is waiting patiently for his forever family at his foster home in Sacramento and he would love to meet you to see if it’s a match.

These pups are in Santa Cruz, California too!

Story
Weight ~70 lbsThis is Amelia and she really, really wants to get out of the shelter and into a home where she has space to get all of her ya-yas out. She`s great with people but can be reactive to dogs when she`s out walking. Since she`s large and strong, she needs a strong adopter and should not go to a home with small children. Although she`s 2 yo, she would benefit greatly from good training, since she can be jumpy and mouthy. If you`re looking for a goofy sofa-sized dog and want to meet Amelia, call or visit the shelter Tue-Sun 11-5.
