Meet Sister! This sweet, gentle, loving girl is looking for a bed to lay on and soak in some sun. She would love a home with a yard where she can spend time playing, quickly followed by plenty of snuggles with her family. Sister should be the star of the show and would prefer to be the only dog in the home. She is also very true to her breed, so breed experience in her forever home is preferred. One of our wonderful volunteers takes Sister on regular days out, this is what they have to say about her: Sister is a gorgeous girl with the most soulful eyes. On her first intro to my two small dogs, she was over excited and her greeting was a little "much", but with each meet, she has calmed down. She now walks along with them as if she has known them forever. From what I observed, she seems to get along best with dogs who are calm and respectful, not overly jumpy. Sister rides well in the car and is a good walker. She is very strong, and whilst she walks well on leash without distractions, she'll need a strong handler in case you see squirrels or other exciting things! Her adopters will need to be alert and keep a tight hold when put walking, but she's super treat motivated, so it's definitely something she can work on with ongoing training. Treats are one sure way to her heart and works to redirect her from distractions. Do you have a home where Sister would be the perfect fit? Say hello to Maeve. She is also known as Mama Wiggle Butt in her foster home. Her stub is always making her backside wiggle. Maeve was found at a high school in the Sacramento area. She has obviously had puppies in the past and is ready to relax and have fun. She loves people, other dogs, and toys. On occasion, she does like to bring things to humans. Sometimes that might be a sock or an item from the counter that she feels would make a great gift. We are working on that. Maeve takes direction well, is crate trained, and is very treat motivated. She enjoys romping in the yard with her foster brothers, going for walks in the neighborhood, or riding in a car on the way to another great adventure. She is also just as happy to cuddle on the sofa and enjoy a good movie with her family. Maeve sleeps through the night on a dog bed next to the house humans. I rescued Athena about a year ago. I could see her ribs and learned I was the 4th person she has been with. She has really bad separation anxiety and would do better with a family that could spend a lot of time with her. She is sweet, smart, beautiful, and has had a measure of training. She loves to play, and is somewhat spoiled. She is not allowed on any furniture, she has her own.

Meet Cookie! Weighing around 75 pounds, Cookie is a total goofy sweetheart who loves people. Cookie is very affectionate and loves to snuggle. Cookie can be selective with other dogs, especially while on leash, but does great with a proper introduction. Cookie knows all kinds of commands, is housebroken, and is very food motivated. Due to her size, she would likely do best in a home without small children (although dog-savvy children 10+ would be okay). She has a lot of energy, and would love to be a part of life's adventures with you!
