Story
*This is a courtesy listing.* Meet Nala! Nala is a 5-year-old Cane Corso Mastiff who needs a loving new home due to her current family's changing circumstances. She is a friendly and calm companion who gets along well with other dogs and is gentle around children, including the 1-year-old that she currently lives with. Nala enjoys going for walks and playing fetch. She loves playing with other dogs and spending time outdoors, including joining her family on camping trips! Nala is spayed and housetrained. When home alone, she is calm and quiet, sleeping or handing out by the door. Nala does not guard her food, if her toys are taken away by a person or another dog, she does not become aggressive. Nala is an easy-going girl! Nala would thrive in a loving home where she is a cherished member of the family and included in daily activities. If you are looking for a loyal and affectionate companion, please consider adopting Nala! Story
Luna is the rescues longest resident. As a young puppy Luna was sent to a board n train where harsh methods were used and her trust in humans was completely destroyed. She was flown down to us from a shelter in San Jose in the hopes we could work with her and get her to the point of being able to safely be adopted out. Luna has definitely been a labor of love but she is ready for a home of her own now. She has perfect house manners and is completely house broken. She walks beautifully on a leash and participates in our pack walks where she solicits love and attention from everyone. On the homefront she can be protective but she is a corso, and this is to be expected. She’s been fostered with both dogs and cats and with proper introductions would easily be able to live with other pets. She’s never had an altercation with any animal. She really needs a home with someone who understands the breed and loves cuddling with their pup as she’s a huge cuddler.

Story
Rene was wandering around the block for several weeks, until he was given the opportunity to enter the home of one of the rescuers. He has been a very protective, loving dog, and from the first moment he was always grateful. He has gained weight and is ready for his new home. He loves to get close to the fence to be petted by neighbors. He is good with cats, although because of his size we do not leave him unsupervised when he is with them, and he lives with most females. He doesn't like to have another male around, he is the alpha and everyone knows it, but with people, he is the biggest baby of them all. He loves treats, lots of love and affection, going for walks and playing with balls and rubber toys. The $350.00 adoption fee covers the following: Transport to San Diego, CA. Spay/Neuter. All vaccines up to date. Deworming (puppies 2 sets). Flea medication up to date. Tick control up to date. Microchip. Microchip registration to new owner paid for. Collar. Temporary leash. The adoption fee does not include transportation to North of San Diego

Story
Maddie is a sweet big girl. She loves to play and loves scratches from kids and adults. I'm currently fostering and have been for a few months but I travel too much. One of my friends moved to an apartment that didn't allow pets and she was going to put Maddie in a shelter. So I offered to house her for a few months until I met someone that could care for her but I can no longer foster due to travel each month. She's sweet, loves cuddling, and loves to sunbathe. She's house trained and has been great with other dogs, rabbits, and children.

Story
Kai came to our home when he was roughly 4 months, we adopted him as his previous owner was unable to keep him due to an unstable living situation. Initially when Kai arrived he was very skinny; however, with some change in diet he has gained some weight slowly but surely. He is projected to be a big boy! We have found that his guilty pleasures include cold apples, soft carrots, and warm goats milk. Kai loves to play with stuffed toys, chase around balls, and take mid day naps. Since we are a single family home, he has not had much exposure to children so we are unsure of how he will do. As for other dogs, Kai will acknowledge them on the streets but does not run to meet them. We have done some private training to encourage confidence. He is a bit anxious and timid among new people and loud noises, some days more than others but he is a good boy overall. He would do great in a single family home and some additional training. If you have questions, please feel free to message.

Story
Meet Remi, this beautiful girl is a approximately 1 year old, female Cane Corso. Remi got a hard start in life when she was confiscated from out of control breeders who horribly neglected the dogs. But despite all this gorgeous girl has gone through she is still as sweet as can be and is GREAT with dogs and also pigs. she hasn’t been cat tested yet. Remi needs another dog friend In the home preferably male due to her shyness and timidness when meeting new people. Remi is also incredibly smart and is potty trained and crate trained. Remi is pretty active and would do best is an active household. If Remi sounds like the perfect girl for you please apply at underdogheroes.org
