Story
Rene was wandering around the block for several weeks, until he was given the opportunity to enter the home of one of the rescuers. He has been a very protective, loving dog, and from the first moment he was always grateful. He has gained weight and is ready for his new home. He loves to get close to the fence to be petted by neighbors. He is good with cats, although because of his size we do not leave him unsupervised when he is with them, and he lives with most females. He doesn't like to have another male around, he is the alpha and everyone knows it, but with people, he is the biggest baby of them all. He loves treats, lots of love and affection, going for walks and playing with balls and rubber toys. The $350.00 adoption fee covers the following: Transport to San Diego, CA. Spay/Neuter. All vaccines up to date. Deworming (puppies 2 sets). Flea medication up to date. Tick control up to date. Microchip. Microchip registration to new owner paid for. Collar. Temporary leash. The adoption fee does not include transportation to North of San Diego

Story
Luna is the rescues longest resident. As a young puppy Luna was sent to a board n train where harsh methods were used and her trust in humans was completely destroyed. She was flown down to us from a shelter in San Jose in the hopes we could work with her and get her to the point of being able to safely be adopted out. Luna has definitely been a labor of love but she is ready for a home of her own now. She has perfect house manners and is completely house broken. She walks beautifully on a leash and participates in our pack walks where she solicits love and attention from everyone. On the homefront she can be protective but she is a corso, and this is to be expected. She’s been fostered with both dogs and cats and with proper introductions would easily be able to live with other pets. She’s never had an altercation with any animal. She really needs a home with someone who understands the breed and loves cuddling with their pup as she’s a huge cuddler.

Maximus here!! I`m a big guy who`s just excited to meet you. I`m a very sweet and friendly gentle giant who looooves to give kisses!! I also love some treats and toys, know some commands such as `sit` and `down` and just love to walk on leash and take a nice stroll. I`m starting to hit my senior years and think I just need to find a nice bed to spend my golden years in. Please take me home!

Story
Duke is in many ways a gentle giant. We received Duke from some friends who discovered him as a stray but couldn't keep him. We took Duke because he needed a home & felt we could give him a good one (he had a bit of a rough go of it in his 2 years of life with multiple owners, including one who mistreated him and ultimately discarded him. We love him to pieces! However, unfortunately, we have found that we are simply not experienced enough dog owners to provide necessary space and attention needed by a 2YO, 100-lb. dog of this breed (i.e., a working dog who needs a lot more activity than we can provide). We also have a 12-mo old in our home (and a 2-yr old who visits a lot). The girls love Duke and he loves them; allowing them to poke & prod & just looks back with love! Our concern is simply his sheer size, and that, should an unintentional mishap happen, they could get hurt. Duke gets along well with other dogs, but we also have an 8YO Maltipoo who doesn't like Duke!

Story
She was a family friends dog and they were looking to rehome her and we tried to keep her but she had some health issues that they did not inform us of and when we tried to give her back they said they were just going to take her to a shelter or have her euthanized. She’s about 5 years old, is the sweetest dog you could ever meet. She’s good with other dogs, cats, kids and people. She is good in public and good on a leash. The only reason we can’t keep her is because of her medical needs

Meet Hope!! We pulled this beautiful corso from a high kill shelter where she had caught a terrible cold. Hope is all recovered now & ready for her forever home! She’s about two years old & on the smaller side for a corso (about 60lbs). Hope is friendly with humans & dogs alike. She loves playing with dogs her size & wouldn’t mind having a furry sibling! Hope is crate & potty trained & walks well on leash. If interested in meeting her please fill out an adoption application.
