Story
This sweet and spirited young Cane Corso is looking for her forever home! While she may be a bit nervous around strangers, especially men, she quickly warms up once she feels comfortable and safe. With a little patience and understanding, she will be your loyal and loving companion. On walks, she is generally well-behaved, though she can get a little strong on the leash when she's excited and wants to play. When she's calm, she walks beautifully by your side, making for enjoyable outings. She prefers quieter walks in not so busy areas. She is good with other dogs and could live with other friendly friends. Zuri will do best in a home with slower household with a predictable routine. Can be left at home for a full workday once she is settled into her routine. She could also be a great work-from-home companion as she just sleeps on her bed during the day. Zuri is completely house trained. She is a bit of a couch potato enjoys walks but does not have a high exercise requirement. She will chase small animals outside. Zuri is food motivated making training easier. She really bonds quickly with her favorite people. This young girl has a lot of potential and will thrive in a patient, loving home where she can build trust and confidence. If you're looking for a sweet and playful companion who will quickly become your best friend, she might just be the perfect fit! Please apply online if interested in adopting sweet Zuri. Story
Maya is a sweet-as-pie puppy looking for her furever home. Maya is a cane corso and is expected to grow between 80-120 pounds. Cane corso's, like all puppies, require a great deal of socialization! Everything is new in this big world and exposure is important! Introductions to as many animals, children, people and especially men will help her learn confidence and safety with people.Maya is working on her potty training and will need a calm and patient guardian to help her continue this process. She is an active breed and will need a home who can keep up with her energy. Due to her size, yard access would be preferred to ensure her needs are met. They are highly intelligent breeds and will need consistent training with positive reinforcement methods to continue along their development. They are gentle giants, and would do well in a home with dog savvy children. Applicants in person will be prioritized due to the high volume of interest. Viewing hours are from 12pm-3pm Tuesday-Sunday :) Primary Color: Fawn Weight: 9.2 Age: 0yrs 0mths 11wks

Story
Oh Biff. What a big ham you are!! Biff was found tied to a pole here in Vancouver next to a bowl of water. We are not sure what his story is but it is evident he was not wanted. He is the biggest, kindest, friendliest dog ever and he is quickly becoming a staff favorite. Biff has some ongoing health issues that will likely need lifelong treatment for. He has severe food allergies and is being treated for skin and nail bed infections due to the allergic response he has been suffering. He has now been neutered and is on a refeeding regiment as he was quite underweight. He is currently 85 lbs and could still use some more pounds. He is also not the most well put together dog but what he lacks for in structure, he makes up for in temperament!! He is a LOVE! Biff is great with every person and dog he has met so far and displays absolutely no aggressive or reactive behaviors. It appears he may have been mistreated in his previous home as he is head shy and will cower when objects are held up in the air. He walks VERY well on leash. He stays with you and watches you if you have treats. He looks to his handler for reassurance when something looks a bit scary and is very easily persuaded that everything is fine if you tell him so. He is a big scavenger so you do need to watch that he won't eat trash or anything resembling food when you are with him. He is a calmer dog but definitely enjoys going for his walks. Biff is a big boy and due to his size and past abuse, we feel he would be best suited for adults but may be ok with older children/teenagers. Please note: Due to ongoing health issues, fee is reduced. This dog will most likely need ongoing veterinary care for his lifetime. Other Dogs : Yes Cats: Don't know Kids: Yes, maybe 10+ Apartment: yes Walks: Yes please! New People: No issues -------------------------------------------------------------------- At City of Vancouver Animal Services, we have a foster-to-adopt program whereby prospective new owners foster the adoptable animal for 21 days before committing to adoption. This ensures that both the new owner and the adoptable animal are well suited to each other. Adoption Fee $114 Includes: -Spay/Neuter -First set of shots -One vet visit -Microchip -Bag of food If you live in Vancouver, you will also need to buy a dog license. Story
Oh, sweet Sally! Why, oh, why hasn't anyone snatched up this not so little pup yet? Your guess is as good as ours 🤷‍♀️While Sally may be the "smallest" of her litter, she's a pretty big babe weighing in at 21 kgs at just 3 months old, HA! Sally will no doubt grow up to be an XL gal, which makes sense, seeing as she's a Cane Corso/Kuvasz cross. I mean, that just means there's more of Sally to love, right?Sally is a curious, energetic pup who enjoys cuddles, all the belly rubs, and is always up for playtime or an adventure! She is both treat & play motivated, which makes Sally a breeze to engage in a variety of puppy appropriate activities, including all that super important early positive based training & socialization. If you've been looking for a new canine pup to join your family, look no further because Sally is your gal! Story
Meet Joe! Joe the big Gentle Giant was found in as a stray in Salmon Arm. Sadly, nobody came to pick him up from the shelter, and we have no past history on him. Joe was adopted and then returned a couple years later for pulling his senior pawrents too hard on-leash. Joey boy was recently transferred to the Sunshine Coast Branch, and is really enjoying these sunny, frosty days in the yard.Joe is a very large boy, weighing in at 57.8 kilos, and he is approximately 7 and a half years old. JoeJoe is now on a diet to hopefully shed a few pounds for hot dog summer.Joe loves showing you all his toys in the yard, and would like if you could throw them for him so he can chase them. He won't give them back to you though! Joe needs a person in his life who can help him continue his weight loss journey, and give him all the love and joy that he so deserves as an almost senior dog. We're still getting to know his mannerisms, but we've noticed he doesn't like bikes very much, and may have some leash reactivity. Joe would probably be best suited to live on a quiet acreage away from the hustle and bustle of city life. He is indifferent to dogs in the yard parallel to him, but we haven't yet done much dog testing with him.As we learn more about Joe, we will update his write-up.If you feel you could give Joe all he deserves and more, please apply online with the instructions below...Joe 549486Please follow these steps if interested in adoption!1.
