✅Currently located in South Korea✅️ 💟Available to fly to Vancouver & Toronto💟 Meet Dorothy♠️ • With People: Dorothy may need a little time to warm up to strangers, but once comfortable, she becomes affectionate and playful, even giving kisses. She’s not used to being held, so she tends to stiffen up when picked up. • With Dogs: Dorothy gets along well with other dogs, though she may be initially shy with unfamiliar ones. She enjoys playing with familiar dogs but is still learning how to play gently, as she can get overly excited. • With Cats: Dorothy coexists peacefully with cats and shows no issues interacting with them. • Separation Anxiety: Dorothy is independent and can stay alone without barking or showing anxiety. She sleeps well on her own, making her a great companion for any routine. • Potty Training: Dorothy is pad-trained and adapts easily even when the pad’s location is changed. • Walking and Outdoor Behavior: She enjoys walks but tends to pull on the leash when she’s curious about something, like birds. Training is ongoing to improve her leash manners. She also responds well to sitting when directed, especially around passing people. • Grooming and Hygiene: Dorothy is comfortable with grooming, including baths, brushing, nail trims, and drying. • Car Sickness: She generally travels well in cars but may occasionally experience vomiting. 💌Special Notes💌 • As a puppy, Dorothy may display behaviors like mild separation anxiety, mouthing, whining, or mischief, which require ongoing training. • Her coat type and eventual size are uncertain due to the lack of information about her father. • Dorothy has mastered “sit,” “wait,” “lie down,” and “eat.” She also responds well to her name and will eagerly run to you when called. ❗Health Status❗ • Spayed: Not yet completed • Microchipped: Not yet completed • Other: Dorothy has corneal edema, requiring consistent application of eye drops. This condition is not contagious.

Story
Hello out there. My name is Lizelle and here is a little info about me: Breed: Canaan Dog mixAge: 3 yearsGender: FemaleWeight: 40 lbsHeight: 20 inches NEW UPDATE Sept '24: I am walking again... on 3 legs anyway. I am no longer fully paralyzed and can move about. Video coming soon. Hope you are ready fir a bundle of joy. PUPDATE: Wooohooo, lookie me. I am showing strength putting weight standing on my left rear leg. https://youtu.be/mH3xXor5g1c. I am currently living in a care facility in Alberta and my mobility has improved. I'm up on 3 legs moving about.  I am trying so hard, as I really, really want to walk again. But until I can, I still race around with my buddies with my wheels. I have a great zest for life that not even the limited use of my rear legs dampens.  My start in life was challenging. I was hit by a car at two months of age. A lady found me, but did not immediately take me to a vet, as she had no money to do so. She did her best for me, but sadly the delay in treatment meant I couldn't use my back legs. But because of my determination to walk again I am now able to stand. I am a true fighter and my foster mom says it won't be long before I am walking again. Being very affectionate, I just love hoomans. In fact, I get very sad when my foster mom gives attention to other dogs. So if you have lots of loving to give, I am ready. Sometimes I get sad without attention and won’t eat my food. If there are other dogs in the house, I would love to play with them. My paralysis makes that challenging, but as you can see from my video I am up to it. I drag myself around with great skill. I am incontinent so my schedule is predictable and with time and patience, we have been able to work out a schedule.  My foster mom says I am eager to learn, and I want to do everything I can to be the best dog ever. Although I am very comfortable with other dogs, I don’t know about cats or kids. Sadly, my life has been spent inside a home, so my dream is to experience the great outdoors. I would love to have a backyard that I could explore. One thing to know about me is that I have a strong bond with my buddy Bondoka. We wrestle and play together: https://youtu.be/_v86Pfow16w and she cares for me! My ideal home would be one where we could visit one another sometimes. However, we are up for adoption separately, as our foster mom says that since we are both so outgoing and friendly we will adjust well to being separated.  Even with my special needs, I know there are wonderful people in Canada who would give me a chance for a better life. Please be my guardian angel :) New Aug vids: https://youtu.be/_o_2PgZH-n0, https://youtube.com/shorts/kHUCbalp-Jw. Here are some additional vids:My xrays - https://youtu.be/SpNi6g30PlEhttps://youtu.be/qA4EevUkIq4  -  Conehead timehttps://youtu.be/ID3tbvXxzzQ  -  trying to get aroundhttps://youtu.be/3LVfUuZTXZU -  first cart attempthttps://youtu.be/zSTbWOEjAfw -  in cart2 And vids of me in the cart:https://youtu.be/jaBf4HczsNAhttps://youtu.be/xqq-G9GjDfYhttps://youtu.be/heZCkBFrbww Energy Level: moderate-low I get along with:Dogs: yesCats: unknownKids: unknown Prey drive: unknown/not observed. My adopter needs to be willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise. Fears: Not having a forever hooman to love me. Please be patient assisting me in my transition. Training: noneLeash skills: No. But even with a wheelchair, I can still be taught how to walk beside you & not pull.House trained: No. I am incontinent due to my paralysis. Health notes: Disabled. The vet tells me my pelvis was broken when I was hit by a car. My back bones are not straight and my feet aren’t right - they will need braces, if I am to fully walk again. Walking on 3 legs again. I am soon to be spayed/neutered. I am vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is by donation. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. [MID-EAST DOGS] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East. ##1477887##

Story
A warm hello to you. I'm ELLERINA and here is a little info about me:Breed: Canaan Dog/Saluki mixAge: 1-1/2 yearsGender: femaleWeight: 23 kgHeight: 45 cmHighlights: friendly, playful, eager to learn You will find here a very well socialized pupper. Pretty amazing given my start in life.Nearly a year and a half ago, my rescuers were called by a family here in West Bank, to take a mama and her puppies from their yard. They hated animals and didn’t want them around. So my rescuers took all us puppies, but couldn't catch my mama, as she ran away. Isn't that heartbreaking? They took us to their shelter, where we were given the treatment we needed.Being a friendly girl (though a bit shy/anxious to start), I will happily join your family for fun & frolic. I'm playful at the right level, not too hyper, not too dull. So, if you are like Goldilocks, looking for just right... that's me.While I can be independent, I am also faithful to my peeps. When hearing loud voices, I can get startled. I get scared by high pitched sounds of cars. So hoping you can reassure me on walks with cars around. Having been in the war zone here, it is going to take some settling learning, I am no longer in danger.I know how to walk with a leash and bonus score, am house trained too. See, just right. I am eager to please, eager to learn & given my confidence level, I should be easy to train. You'll find I am quite entertaining to watch. Especially since I can be curious about things. It will be amusing for you to watch me discover all the new things about life there in Canada.I get along fine with other dogs. With cats, it's a mixed bag, so probably a home without a cat is best. I haven't had interactions with children. I'm a cuddly and affectionate girl too. Story
Meet Rose: A Lovable Soul Looking for Her Forever Home Rose's journey hasn’t been easy, but she is a sweet, gentle dog ready to find a loving family who can offer her the stability and care she deserves. Three years ago, Rose was adopted from a high-kill shelter, where she and her brother, Baekdu, had been waiting for a second chance. Sadly, after three years, Rose and Baekdu were returned to the shelter after their owner’s breakup. In high-kill shelters, adult Jindo dogs are at high risk of euthanasia, and we knew that Rose and Baekdu would face an uncertain future without intervention. While Baekdu was fortunate to quickly find a new home, Rose has carried the trauma of her early life with her. She had been abused by her previous owner, leaving her with a fear of people. But through patience, care, and time, Rose has made remarkable progress. She has learned to trust again, and now she is ready for a fresh start in a home that can provide the love and care she needs to continue healing. ❤️❤️Personality and Behavior Rose is a gentle and affectionate dog, seeking the love and attention of her people. Though timid at times, her curiosity often shines through as she explores her surroundings. She enjoys being petted and is friendly with both men and women. While she has not had experience with children or cats, we believe with the right guidance and environment, she could adapt well. When it comes to other dogs, Rose is generally good, but she tends to dislike overly aggressive approaches. She is more likely to thrive in a home where she is the only dog, as she can become overwhelmed by strong personalities. Rose does not show aggression but is more likely to shy away from tense situations. Rose is fully potty trained and can use both indoor and outdoor facilities. She has not had crate training but is learning to adapt to new situations with time. Rose has an average energy level—she enjoys walks and playtime but also loves her quiet moments. ❤️❤️Health and Daily Needs Rose has a good appetite and enjoys her meals. She can walk on a leash, though she may need some encouragement and time to adjust to regular walking routines. She is not prone to excessive barking but will softly bark when other dogs or people are nearby. Rose is not an escape artist, and while she will back away if forced into an uncomfortable situation, she is generally calm and not prone to running away. Rose is also a gentle soul when it comes to toys—she enjoys playing, but her behavior tends to lean toward dismantling toys rather than destructive chewing. ❤️❤️Ideal Home for Rose Rose would thrive in a home where she can receive the care and attention, she needs to feel safe and secure. Ideally, she would benefit from a house with a yard, especially if daily walks are not possible. While Rose could live in an apartment, it’s essential that she receives regular walks (2-3 times a day) to keep her healthy and happy. Rose may be best as the only dog in the household, though she may also adapt well to a calm, well-mannered dog who respects her boundaries. Rose’s perfect family will be patient, understanding, and willing to offer her the structure she needs. With the right guidance, Rose will blossom into an incredibly loving and loyal companion. Could you be the one to give Rose the second chance she’s been waiting for? If you have the time and love to offer her, Rose is ready to bring joy, affection, and her gentle nature into your home. Together, you can give her the forever home and happy ending she deserves. 💕
