Hello out there. My name is Lizelle and here is a little info about me: Breed: Canaan Dog mixAge: 3 yearsGender: FemaleWeight: 40 lbsHeight: 20 inches NEW UPDATE Sept '24: I am walking again... on 3 legs anyway. I'm up on 3 legs moving about.  I am trying so hard, as I really, really want to walk again. But until I can, I still race around with my buddies with my wheels. I have a great zest for life that not even the limited use of my rear legs dampens.  My start in life was challenging. I was hit by a car at two months of age. A lady found me, but did not immediately take me to a vet, as she had no money to do so. She did her best for me, but sadly the delay in treatment meant I couldn't use my back legs. But because of my determination to walk again I am now able to stand. I am a true fighter and my foster mom says it won't be long before I am walking again. Being very affectionate, I just love hoomans. In fact, I get very sad when my foster mom gives attention to other dogs. So if you have lots of loving to give, I am ready. Sometimes I get sad without attention and won’t eat my food. If there are other dogs in the house, I would love to play with them. My paralysis makes that challenging, but as you can see from my video I am up to it. I drag myself around with great skill. I am incontinent so my schedule is predictable and with time and patience, we have been able to work out a schedule.  My foster mom says I am eager to learn, and I want to do everything I can to be the best dog ever. Although I am very comfortable with other dogs, I don’t know about cats or kids. Sadly, my life has been spent inside a home, so my dream is to experience the great outdoors. I would love to have a backyard that I could explore. One thing to know about me is that I have a strong bond with my buddy Bondoka. Pretty amazing given my start in life.Nearly a year and a half ago, my rescuers were called by a family here in Israel, to take a mama and her puppies from their yard. They hated animals and didn’t want them around. So my rescuers took all us puppies, but couldn't catch my mama, as she ran away. Isn't that heartbreaking? They took us to their shelter, where we were given the treatment we needed.Being a friendly girl (though a bit shy/anxious to start), I will happily join your family for fun & frolic. I'm playful at the right level, not too hyper, not too dull. So, if you are like Goldilocks, looking for just right... that's me.While I can be independent, I am also faithful to my peeps.When hearing loud voices, I can get startled. I get scared by high pitched sounds of cars. So hoping you can reassure me on walks with cars around. ✅Currently located in South Korea✅️ 💟Available to fly to Vancouver & Toronto💟 Meet Gowoon💖 • Interaction with People: Gowoon is still not accustomed to human touch. She allows gentle, cautious petting and can manage soft touches but reacts defensively if touched too suddenly. • Interaction with Dogs: She gets along well with calm dogs with a similar demeanor and appreciates dogs that approach her gently. • Separation Anxiety: She lives in a group setting at the shelter, so it’s unclear if she has separation anxiety. • Potty Training: Currently, she only practices outdoor potty as she lives in the shelter. • Hygiene: Gowoon is not yet comfortable bathing or brushing due to her unfamiliarity with human contact. • Walks: She is afraid of hands reaching for her to attach a leash, which has prevented her from going on walks. • Car Sickness: Travels well in a car without any signs of motion sickness. 💌Special Notes💌 • Gowoon struggles to take treats from hands but is gradually learning to accept them.
