Story
Meet Cleo! Cleo "Cleopatra" is a beautiful cat with big green eyes who is shy but affectionate when she warms up to anyone. She has a little cut on her right tip of her ear from when she was living in the streets. Her favorite spot to be scratched is her chin. Cleo is both shy and curious about her surroundings. But once she feels safe and comfortable she makes herself home and lays around. Cleo was found in a parking lot and after few head scratches she instantly felt comfortable to be around me where she could be pick up. The vet put her over the age of 1 years old. Cleo is such a smart and loving that she deserves the best instead of being in the streets. DOB: 03/01/2022 ************************************** Our adoption fees are $125 for one, $200 for 2, and cover the spay/neuter, age-appropriate shots, microchip, combo test, deworming, and collar and ID tag. We require our adopters are 21 years old or older, keep the cat inside only (unless on a leash/harness or in a catio), and do not declaw./

Story
Meet Gracy! Gracy is a beautiful dilute tortie. She has absolutely stunning golden eyes and the cutest pink nose. Not to mention her marking are beautiful Gracy is sweet and gentle. She enjoys pets and quiet time. She would do best in a home that is quiet without a lot of activity and other pets. Gracy was born in a colony, she is the only survivor of her litter. She was initially going to be a TNR. However, she showed up wounded probably at the hands of a not nice human and her caretaker brought her in and got veterinary care. She decided that Gracy deserved in indoor loving home. Because of her past, Gracy is a little shy around new people, but is sweet when she gets to know you. Story
Meet Kaleigh and Scrappy! Kaleigh is a beautiful calico with a white coat and the most amazing tabby striped spot on her back. Scrappy is a handsome grey striped tabby. These two are the most amazing cuddlers and the best of friends. They love to snuggle with the family and with each other. Kaleigh is a little shy when meeting new people. She loves to cuddle and snuggle. Scrappy is outgoing and affectionate. They are the best babies ever. Kaleigh and Scrappy were rescued as babies by TPP when they were found with their deceased mother under a deck. They were nursed to health and found a sweet family. Their family loves them dearly and says they are the best cats ever. Unfortunately someone in the family has developed health issues and the doctor is recommending rehoming the cats. They are devastated and have spent months looking for alternatives without success. Story
Meet Chela! Chela is a dilute calico mix with striking colors! She's long and lean, and has sparkling green eyes! Cute pink nose on a beautiful face. She is very demure and a little shy on first introduction. Being with me the last month, she has opened up and likes to play with a laser pointer or wand toy, and will also let me hold her like a baby and give her long scritches. She very much seems like she will be a "one person cat," but for that person, and a few others, she'll be great to have around! Chela was found as a local stray who had just given birth to 4 kittens. Est DOB: 7/2023 ************************************** Our adoption fees are $125 for one, $200 for 2, and cover the spay/neuter, age-appropriate shots, microchip, combo test, deworming, and collar and ID tag. Story
Hi! My name is Sweetums. I got my name from you guessed it…being so sweet. I was originally brought into TexasCARES as a pregnant momma. I was the best momma and all of my babies got adopted. I was adopted too but somehow I found myself back on the street and fending for myself. I didn’t deserve that and I am so happy to be back inside and safe. Because I was living on the streets, I am cautious of new people. Once you build my trust, I will love you forever!  I am not a big fan of other cats and dogs probably due to having to live in such a stressful situation outside. Everything was pretty scary for me. I would love to be an only pet in a home with a caring person or family who would let me cuddle by their side. Older kids that don’t want to carry me around would be fine. I do love pets and playing with toys is my favorite. Any wand toy will keep me endlessly entertained. I sure hope you will consider giving me my forever home! I promise I am so worth it.      NOTE:   While currently in great health, Sweetums has tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV).  Many FIV+ cats can live long, healthy lives with no symptoms at all, especially when raised exclusively indoors.   However, FIV can weaken a cat’s immune system over a period of years so proactive vet care is crucial.  FIV is not communicable to people or other pets such as dogs, rabbits, etc.  The virus is not spread among cats through casual contact such as shared food/water/litter, mutual grooming, or playing.  It is most commonly spread through deep bite wounds inflicted as part of serious aggression among cats.   We encourage you to do some research on FIV – too many great kitties get passed over due to outdated or inaccurate information about this condition.  November 5, 2024, 8:53 pm

Story
Banana is a goofball and a ball of energy. I adopted him when he was 3 months old from the Farmers Branch Animal Shelter. He is neutered, up to date on shots, and microchipped. He is not declawed, and as of the past few months has become shy when it comes to letting me trim his nails. I am moving to a much smaller unit in December. Because Banana is so high energy, I don't think it would be fair to him to keep him trapped in such a small place. I would love to see him go somewhere where he gets the attention he so desperately seeks (he is a drama queen). I am unsure of how he is with children & other cats, however I know he is not good with dogs. I would like to see him go to an experienced cat owner, due to how high energy he is. He is constantly wanting to play, make biscuits, have attention and is basically the definition of the zoomies.
