ALL animals are in foster homes as we do NOT have a  shelter where you can visit. Some animals are in foster care in New England, and some are located in other states. If the initials following the animals name are a state, then that is the state where the animal is located. If initials are not a state, then those are the initials of the foster home outside of New England and you will not be able to meet the animal ahead of time. Complete our online application You will be contacted by phone or email by the foster parent  or a member of our adoption team and will have the opportunity to find out more about the animal, and ask any questions that you have to ensure the animal is a good fit for your household. If the animal is local, you can meet the animal, but you would not be able to take the dog home until you are approved to adopt.  From our end, we will check references and schedule a home visit.  If you live in an apartment, or a condo, we will need to verify permission to own the animal from your landlord or condo board. Please let your vet’s office and references know we will be contacting them. If your  references are positive, we will schedule a home visit by a volunteer. Please try to accommodate the home visit volunteer as most  have busy schedules. Delays in the visit will result in a delay in the adoption. Once you are approved, you will receive an e-mail with your  adoption contract attached. This e-mail will have details about pick up, the balance of the adoption fee that is owed, etc. Please email your signed & witnessed contract and pay your adoption fee in full, and for any animals located out of state, you will be contacted for details about transport to New England. Once you have paid your adoption fee in full and sent back your contract, you can make arrangement to pick up your animal from the foster home or from transport depending on where the animal is located. Please bring a harness, collar, ID tag and leash when you are picking up the dog unless otherwise instructed by the foster parent. Our extensive approval process is intended to ensure the best fit between our animals and adopters. Friends of Homeless Animals (FOHA) reserves the right to deny any adoption application with or without disclosure of cause. Your adoption fee helps to cover the cost of all age appropriate vetting and transportation. FOHARI.ORG makes no explicit or implicit guarantees in reference to the health, temperament and/or the breed of the animal. The animal is adopted ‘as is’, and the adopter assumes all responsibility for treatment of any and all existing conditions or any other conditions of physical or temperament changes that may occur. FOHARI.ORG will provide the animal with the basic vaccines, heart worm test and sterilization of dogs and cats before adoption if the age and current health of the animal permits. All of our cats and kittens receive an exam, are spayed/neutered, fully vaccinated, de-wormed, de-flead, tested for FeLV and FIV, and microchipped. Patches Mom is a stunning, mostly white calico girl, about 1 to 1.5 years old, ready to find her forever home. She’s been an incredible mom, and now it's her turn to be pampered and adored. Patches is as sweet as they come; she might observe from afar at first, but it doesn’t take her long to get comfortable and come in for a sniff and a pat. Once she does, her loud and frequent purrs will let you know she’s happy. Patches would probably thrive best as an only cat, as she gets a bit upset when other foster kitties come near her door. Dobby is a 4 year old Male Calico, he is black and white with Green eye's, he's such character I've never met a cat with his personality, he's also very loving and just so cute. he's 100% an indoor cat and refuses to go outside. I ended up getting Dobby from a friend which they could't have him due to Landlord not allowing pets, and as much as l love him I unfortunately have to find him a new home due to my sons asthma and allergies. I have 2 Guinea pigs and he gets along with them great.

sassy brat is a 3yr old fixed female shy cat kinda skiddish house cat, she don't like the out doors she cries .i nd to rehome because my granddaugther severe allergic and is artistic she's two .. so i nd a loving home for sassy i hate to see her go cuz i love her , but my granddaughter's health is important plz help us out . great mouser too.i don't have long to get my kitty a new home , i hate to take her to mcspa cuz i don't like the idea of her being lock in a cage to be adopted .i'm afraid they would put her down

Meet these 3 sweet sisters!    Talk about kittens that love to play but also enjoy our time leisurely lounging around cat trees. Some of our favorite toys are toy mice and balls, cat tunnels, wand toys, and don't forget the laser pointer. We love all the kitty treats, push up treats, brushing, and catnip our foster gives us. We really are love bugs. We really want to be adopted with one of our siblings.  We are too cute and quickly warm up with food, play and lots of pets and love.  Playing cat fishing online cat games is fun times for us too. Our names are Pippie, Sweet Pea Penelope, and Berkley.   Penelope nicknamed Sweet Pea is super sweet and loves attention. Her fur is so soft and silky. She is the tiniest girl in the trio, too cute. Worthington was found roaming as a stray on a street very close to the rescue. His stray hold is up and no one came forward to claim him. He is now ready to find his happy ending! Autumn (female) and Pumpkin (male) are a bonded pair that are looking for a home together. They are both 4 year old and are Domestic Short Hair cats. Autumn has a gorgeous Torti coat and Pumpkin has a handsome orange coat and electric eyes. They can be a little shy initially but they are extremely sweet. They are settling in at the rescue and are coming out of their shell. They definitely find comfort in being together and we know they will bring a lot of joy to their new family.
