Story
Siblings Jasmine, Jasper (adopted), and Trooper (adopted) were born into an outdoor colony. When they first were brought to us, they were very timid.  Jasmine is really coming around. She is becoming less timid and we think with time and patience, she will thrive in a forever home. For more information on Jasmine, please contact us at rgazarik@hotmail.comNovember 3, 2024, 9:05 pm

Story
Gravity came to the shelter with a litter of kittens. Her babies have all been adopted but poor Gravity is too timid right now for most people. She is a beautiful calico cat and should tame down for someone experienced in socializing feral/community cats.      For more information on Gravity, please contact Renee at rgazarik@hotmail.com.November 3, 2024, 9:05 pm

Story
We adopted Cookie when she was a kitten. She is twelve years old now and my youngest child is now away at college and I find myself with worsening allergies and needing to downsize from a house to an apartment. She’s a sweet girl, not needy, likes to eat and sleep!

These pups are in Indiana, Pennsylvania too!

Story
Meet Bingo! Bingo was brought to the shelter in July 2020. He was part of a humane surrender along with many other cats, at no fault of their own of course. Although Bingo was being housed inside, he was in no way domesticated. So, when he was brought to ICHS he was not a big fan of the change and he was not a big fan of our shelter staff. Eventually, Bingo was moved to our colony room where he was able to roam free with other cats. Bingo preferred this over being in a cage as he did not have to have that close human interaction daily anymore. Now he had space to run away and towers to climb up on if he was feeling uncomfortable. And while Bingo ran away and hissed for a while something in him was changing with every positive human interaction. Magic was happening! Fast forward to last year, and we have had an amazing group of volunteers who specifically work with socializing our colony cats, including Bingo. This guy has made huge milestones. A cat who could never be touched and who no one could get near is now a cat who loves to play with the wand toy, sniffs people's hands, lets you hang out around him, poses for close-up pictures, and...even allows you to very slowly brush him! We are so proud of how far he has come and how he continues to do better every day. We are also so thankful for the work that our volunteers and shelter staff have put into socializing him! While he may not be your lap cat at first, with time as he learns to trust you Bingo is bound to be your most loyal best friend. A cat with a history like him bonds so deeply to those he can trust. We would assume, that with A LOT of patience, Bingo will come around to the idea of having a human best friend more so than he already has. Or perhaps you are a person who just isn't home a lot and you feel badly for leaving your cat alone for long periods of time. Bingo is without a doubt your guy! There is not a single cat that doesn't love Bingo. Every scared and anxious cat can find comfort in this big fella. He even has an immense amount of patience for kittens and helps teach them the ropes of cat life. So, if you're not looking for a best friend for yourself or a best friend for your furry friend there could not be a better choice than our boy Bingo! Primary Color: Brown Tabby Secondary Color: Black Age: 5yrs 5mths 0wks

Story
Meet Spaghetti! Spaghetti was brought to ICHS along with many other cats, at no fault of their own of course. This silly boy can be the life of our Cat Colony. Spaghetti loves to run, play with wand toys, and get crazy off the catnip. This handsome guy does so well with other cats that he would probably prefer a home with another cat if possible! He seems to love playing and snuggling with every cat in our colony room. Spaghetti can be a little timid when meeting new people, but it doesn't take long for him to warm up. He enjoys getting pets from our volunteers. So, if you're looking for an entertaining and friendly little cat consider putting in an adoption application for Spaghetti today! Story
Meet Pinto! Pinto was brought to ICHS as a stray. He is still learning to trust the shelter staff and volunteers, but he is making progress every day. While he may hide and even hiss, Pinto is a very sweet and gentle cat. He is just a scared boy! Pinto loves head pets and receiving treats from our staff. He even enjoys playing with wand toys! When our staff isn't hanging out and socializing with Pinto, you can find this cute boy curled up taking long cat naps in his box. So, if you have the patience to show Pinto that humans aren't so bad after all, consider putting in an adoption application today! Primary Color: Brown Tabby Age: 2yrs 5mths 0wks
