Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.   Meet Skittles! How gorgeous is this little girl?! We just can't get over how pretty her coloring is. And she was an awesome personality to go along with her good looks. She is very relaxed and chill, especially for a kitten. She loves to sit on your lap, cuddle and be pet. What could be better?! Her favorite thing to do lately is to joyfully explore her foster home. She is a silly kitten who is sure to make you laugh and keep you entertained. She gets along great with all the other kittens she is being fostered with. She loves kids and you can often find her being carried around like a baby by the kids at her foster home and their friends. Not a shy bone in her little body. Skittles and her siblings were abandoned along with their mother in a rural area of NC. Thankfully, a very nice family took them in and fostered them until they were old enough to be transported up to us to find their forever homes. We absolutely love Skittles and we know you will too. Skittles is spayed and microchipped and is up to date on age appropriate vaccinations and has tested negative for FIV/FeLV.  If you are interested in adopting, please fill out a 'Cat Adoption Application'   at   www.DelawarePetRescue.org/forms       Adoption fee is: $150Can’t adopt? Potential adopters can speak to the cats foster mom on the phone or do a meeting on Zoom or Facetime if desired to virtually meet the cat. You can pick your kitty up 'curb side'. Cats can be returned with a full refund for up to one week. *     DPR cats receive the following medical care prior to adoption:  Initial vet visit Spay or neuter (if cat is 6 months or older)Rabies vaccination (if cat is 6 months or older)Distemper vaccinationSNAP testing for FIV, Leukemia and heart wormBroad spectrum dewormers Monthly flea/tick preventative Ear mite preventative The above is standard for ALL cats in our care. But many cats we rescue also require some additional TLC prior to adoption, such as antibiotics, eye ointments, wound care, fungal treatment, x-rays, or various surgeries.  We are an all-volunteer 501(c)3 charity. The adoption fee helps to offset our standard and non-standard vet bills.     Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 28, 2024, 3:09 pm

Story
Head and chin rubs, please!!!  Meet Coral, my beautiful tabico foster.  Coral came to me after having her left leg amputated, to gain her confidence living without a leg. Coral has come such a long way. Having her leg amputated has not slowed her down at all. She jumps, runs, plays without issue. Coral loves: food and treats, soft toys she can easily grab and cat nip. To see her growth and love grow over the last 3 months has been amazing. She went from a cat that did not really interact with me to jumping and running to me when I walk in her room. She lights up and meows at me until I pet her. Coral loves being having her head and chin rubbed as she sits there purring away.  To her future adopter: Please be patient with Coral as she adjusts to her new surroundings. She was very reserved at first, but within a month, she was playing, laying on the couch with me and loving life. Coral also loves her own space and laying in windows. She may enjoy being an only cat; however, Coral has been introduced to resident cats. She is unsure at times but only hisses, but with time and patience, I believe she would adjust perfectly fine with another laid back cat that gives her space. She does okay with my one resident cat that comes into her area. That’s because he just wants to be in the space and doesn’t bother her. Coral is playing with her foster family.  Please ask to meet her and have some playtime!  Please submit our no-obligation Adoption Application for a meet and greet or to adopt:  https://forgottencats.org/adoption-application/.  Thank you!  (Foster:  Joanna S.)  November 3, 2024, 6:29 pm

Story
Meet Callie,  a beautiful tabico (tabby +calico) gal! She is very sweet and calm, but don’t let that fool you because she is persistent when it comes to your affection. You’ll notice that she purrs easily while in your company; that’s because she is so happy around people. She loves to be petted and will circle your legs, meow at you, and follow you until you give her the attention she desires. Callie’s sweetness does come with a side of sass, in typical calico fashion, and she will let you know when she’s done. Also, if you try to pick her up, she’ll quickly let you know that’s not her thing. This girl does enjoy playtime, especially if there are wands involved, and can be quite curious about new spaces. Callie also seems to equally enjoy lounging on soft beds. Callie has met other kitties at the shelter and is fine in their company, though we suspect she wouldn’t mind being an only cat or would prefer a house with other laid-back felines. She has responded well to the older children she has met. We do not know if she’s met dogs.  Come meet Callie at our Willow Grove Shelter! Email questions to FCWillowgrove@gmail.com.  Please submit our no-obligation application for a meet and greet or to adopt today:  https://forgottencats.org/adoption-application/ .  (Foster: Willow Grove)November 3, 2024, 6:29 pm

Story
Poppy is a beautiful, young adult calico who is equal parts affectionate and independent. She would be a great companion in a quiet household. Poppy prefers not to be squashed with cuddles, but she is so sweet and affectionate! She is OK with other cats with a proper, gradual introduction, but she really prefers to be the only kitty “royalty” in the house.  Although Poppy is mellow and independent at times, she also gets the “zoomies” and then plays with every toy she encounters along the way (especially her big catnip mouse). It's quite entertaining! She likes to play with her humans by chasing wand toys and pouncing on wiggling fingers under a blanket. When things are quiet, she’ll curl up next to you as you read or watch TV on the couch at night.  Poppy is spayed, fully litter-trained, and up to date on her vaccinations. She isn’t a picky eater, and she prefers dry food over canned. (She looooooves treats, too!) Poppy is not comfortable around dogs. Poppy is currently playing with her foster family, and she is waiting for her forever home! Poppy is currently playing with her foster family.  Please submit our no-obligation adoption application for a meet and greet or to adopt:  https://forgottencats.org/adoption-application/ .  Thank you!  (Foster: Lyn C.).
