Calico kittens & cats in Fletcher, North Carolina

Cassie was adopted from Save-A-Pet Adoption Center, Grayslake IL 60030, Feb. 16, 2028. DOB. Jan. 28, 2017. She lived with us in Grayslake until April 19, 2019 when she moved with us and our American Eskimo, Binca, to Swannanoa NC. She and Binca, mostly have been indifferent to each other. The only other dog she has been in contact with is a large, Labradoodle; they do not get a long. He's our grand dog and Cassie hides whenever he shows up. Generally, Cassie like people. When she meets them she comes to their ankle to sniff them and rub her body. She can be picked up but will not stay on a lap for all but a short period of time. While she doesn't stay a lap for any length of time, she always wants to be in the room where adults are. In the 6 1/2 years we've had her she has never hid from us unless. I don't know how she is with other dogs and cats. Persons with whom we have boarded Cassie have always reported she gets along well with the other. cats.

Iris is a spayed female Calico born 5/27/24. She is very energetic and playful. She thinks she is the boss, and she is litterbox trained. The adoption fee is $100. This covers the cost of spay/neuter, PVR, Rabies, flea, tick, ear mite and worm treatment. To adopt, you need to first fill out an application. Lily2 is a spayed female calico cat, born in August 2019. She has a very sweet disposition and loves to be held. She is a little more independent but does come looking for attention most of the time. Joy is a spayed female medium-haired calico, born in October 2023. She is a very loving cat who had kittens when she was young and was a wonderful mother to her kittens. Now that she has finished that duty, she is ready to be the beautiful family member she always wanted to be. Cleo was adopted through the Asheville Humane Society foster program about 4 years ago along with her 4 week old kitten. She was very protective of her baby, but did not seem obviously antagonized by our other animals. This has changed over the years and she is at this point very cranky around the other 2 cats and 2 dogs. With people, she is very affectionate, often demanding pets. She has beautiful green eyes and loves to snuggle. I sincerely want to see her happy, but the house she is in now is not a good fit.

Carmen was left behind when her house was sold. The new homeowner was shocked to discover her and rushed her to the vet and into rescue. Carmen is a sweet, talkative girl who would appreciate a calm home. Meet Fender! Fender is a beautiful, energetic big boy. Everyone here at the shelter raves about his distinct markings and his soft brown belly. He could jump and play all day, especially with a mouse toy. Fender is very athletic and alert, but also has an affectionate side. He enjoys being petted, especially on the top of his head or on his whisker cheeks. Fender is scared of dogs so he would not do well in a home with a dog & is not recommended for a home with other cats unless they are quite small and submissive. Meet Mickey! Mickey loves his people and wants nothing more than a quiet home to watch birds, sunbathe, and gets lots of pets and cuddles. He is scared of dogs and some cats. He would need to be in a home with a very laidback cat for it to work. He is shy to new places and would take time to settle in, but once he does he is the sweetest of boys. Meet Sweetpea! Tiny and playful, Sweetpea is a wonderful companion if you want a cat that's cuddly and also ready to play. Sweetpea is petite and beautiful. She loves people and seems to do okay with other cats as long as they give her time and aren't too big next to her. Sweetpea is currently working on gaining some weight. She came to us with a leg that has limited range of motion, due to an injury, but it does not limit her ability to climb, move, play, or jump. She cannot fully fold it up to lay down (loaf style), but it would need yearly check ups from the vet to make sure it stays nice and safe.
