Story
Adoption fee fully sponsored by Jared and Erica Mackall.Currently one of our longest stay cats, Toyota, at only 8 months old, has been here for over 6 months of her life! No matter how many tabbies we have at any given time, Toyota is unmistakable in a sea of brown and white tiger striping -- the comically sour expression on her tiny little face alone gives her away every time. Although she may look beyond grouchy in all her photos, she's just got a case of RBF - don't listen to her. She craves affection and to find her special person just as much as any other cat out there.Toyota and her littermates had a rocky start to their early life. Despite being raised inside, they had only ever been around one person inside a bathroom. When we got them, their stomachs were distended with worms and their ears were filled with mites. Many were anemic from the amount of fleas on them, and they reeked for weeks. They didn't even know how to use the litterbox at first - which although they were still kittens, most kittens that we get that are even younger than them are already litterbox trained. Despite how frightened and unwell they were, this whole group put a brave face on and bore their longer-than-usual quarantine time, with lots of pokes, prods, and medicines, with surprising good nature. Now as a "teenager," Toyota definitely prefers to hang out in quieter or less chaotic situations than our cat room during the day. She has never been mean, and once you win her heart and remind her that she does, indeed, love pets and cuddles, she's just like any other kitten. If you'd like to meet Toyota, pop in during our open hours, email adopt.ffaa@gmail.com for any questions, or fill out our online application and we will get in contact with you! https://www.ffaaneosho.org/cat-application.html

Story
Adoption fee fully sponsored by Jared and Erica Mackall.Meet Denali! Ever-elusive, this male has been through a lot to get here! Brought in as an owner surrender, we soon learned that Denali had been raised for his entire kitten-hood in a bathroom, only ever interacting with hi first owner and the other cats he shared his space with. He did not know how to use a litterbox when he got here, and he and his group were filthy, wormy, and infested with fleas and mites. Despite his fear, throughout his quarantine period, Denali and the other car kitties remained sweet and gentle. Lately, they have all been coming out of their shell and developing their own individual personalities. We think that for Denali, the final step in his evolution is finding his forever home so he can truly get comfortable away from the hustle, bustle, noise, and chaos of shelter living.Denali has been at FFAA for over 7 months now. Every day that we're open for visitors, we're hopeful that someone will look into his eyes and take a chance on him. We are certain that they will be heavily rewarded with the work it'll take for him to acclimate and build trust. But we are certain that once he feels safe in a place of his own, he'll be a spectacular and sweet friend for years to come.

Story
Adoption fee fully sponsored by Jared and Erica Mackall.Chevy is a big, handsome boy. His half-tabby face mask is striking and sets him apart from the other cats in his group. Chevy tends to be mellow and curious. He has finally developed an interest in making new friends with other cats. He pretends like he doesn't enjoy getting babied by staff (but he secretly loves it). He's even taken to following the extroverted cats example in cat adopt and joins them to greet strangers. It's taken a few months for Chevy to start developing his fantastic personality. He and the other cats he came with spent their entire life in a bathroom, only ever interacting with their owner and each other. They lacked even basic life skills like using the litterbox (don't worry - they're experts now), and they were filthy and infested with fleas and mites. Despite their fearfulness, the kittens remained sweet and gentle. Chevy is easily the friendliest of the "car kitties" group -- he even lets his favorite kennel tech hold him on his back like a baby and rock him back and forth between smooches. All he needs now is a save and loving home that will grant him the time and space to adjust to blossom and become his best self. Are you that home for Chevy?
