Calico kittens & cats in Lowell, Massachusetts

Karma was adopted from a shelter 2 and a half years ago. She is independent and keeps to her self mostly, she will come up for the occasional love when she finds it necessary. She is 2 1/2 years old or so. She doesn’t get along with one of our cats but loves the other (why we are rehoming her) She plays and loves toys. Charlene was discovered at an abandoned restaurant with a collar severely embedded under her arm. After undergoing two surgeries, she has fully recovered. From the very beginning, she showed her rescue foster how thankful she was. However, Charlene has experienced trauma during her time on the streets, and as a result, she needs to be the only cat in the household. She may be a one-person cat, showing a preference for trusting females more than males. Due to her past experiences, she may often greet strangers with a hiss. However, if she chooses you as her person, she becomes truly affectionate, loving to curl up in your lap or snuggle with you in bed. Charlene is very food motivated but requires a special limited ingredient diet. She is estimated to be 3-5 years old and still enjoys playing with wand toys, as well as mice, balls, and springs. Don't forget to provide her with scratching posts and condos that she loves. Charlene is spayed, up to date on all her vaccinations, FIV negative, and microchipped. She will need an experienced cat adopter who has no children or other pets. Philomenia loves humans and will shower you with affection. She loves to wind in and out of your legs..  Philomenia also enjoys having a human companion to watch her eat (it's a perfect meal mate date, but you have to cover the bill).  She loves to play with toys and will sit beside you for a short time—just make sure not to rub her flanks. This cat was found on Fulton St in Lowell MA on 1/5/26, brought to our shelter 1/7/26. If you think you know this cat, please call us 978-452-7781 or email us forms@lowellhumanesociety.org . This cat will be on a 4-day stray hold, then undergo behavior & medical evaluations for best placement recommendations.
