Story
Penny is 5 years old and was born sometime in the month of May 2019. She was found on the streets of CT and we adopted her from a rescue. We have loved having Penny in our home these past 5 years. Within the last couple of years Penny has been having GI issues with chronic diarrhea. She's undergone blood work, parasite testing and put on a Rx food. All testing revealed no issues. We kept her on the food for quite some time, but it didn't make much of a difference, so she's back on a non rx food for a sensitive stomach. The vet discussed the possibility of doing further testing and trying other types of rx foods, although our budget does not allow it at this time. Penny still has diarrhea, and sometimes goes outside the litter box. She needs a home that can afford further testing, as well as the potential of trying different diets or medications to ease her stomach discomfort. We will absolutely miss her!! She is such a sweet, loving, friendly cuddly cat.

Adoption Donation   $249 Located:  RI (Transportation costs included to the Northeast , plz ask for more details) Age: approx  10 months old as of 1/25/25      If you are interested in adopting me, please fill out an application on our website  www.fohari.org  and email my foster parent for more information:  sssmpx3@gmail.com   Please verify the location and readiness of this dog with us.  Because we save lives from various locations through out the United States, some dogs may not be in New England yet, nor ready for immediate adoption.   Sssmpx3@gmail.com Our adoption application can be found here: https://fohari.org/application/  Our Adoption Process:   Go to our website and select the animal you are interested in. ALL animals are in foster homes as we do NOT have a  shelter where you can visit. Some animals are in foster care in New England, and some are located in other states. If the initials following the animals name are a state, then that is the state where the animal is located. If initials are not a state, then those are the initials of the foster home outside of New England and you will not be able to meet the animal ahead of time. Complete our online application You will be contacted by phone or email by the foster parent  or a member of our adoption team and will have the opportunity to find out more about the animal, and ask any questions that you have to ensure the animal is a good fit for your household. If the animal is local, you can meet the animal, but you would not be able to take the dog home until you are approved to adopt.  From our end, we will check references and schedule a home visit.  If you live in an apartment, or a condo, we will need to verify permission to own the animal from your landlord or condo board. Please let your vet’s office and references know we will be contacting them. If your  references are positive, we will schedule a home visit by a volunteer. Please try to accommodate the home visit volunteer as most  have busy schedules. Delays in the visit will result in a delay in the adoption. Once you are approved, you will receive an e-mail with your  adoption contract attached. This e-mail will have details about pick up, the balance of the adoption fee that is owed, etc. Please email your signed & witnessed contract and pay your adoption fee in full, and for any animals located out of state, you will be contacted for details about transport to New England. Once you have paid your adoption fee in full and sent back your contract, you can make arrangement to pick up your animal from the foster home or from transport depending on where the animal is located. Please bring a harness, collar, ID tag and leash when you are picking up the dog unless otherwise instructed by the foster parent. Our extensive approval process is intended to ensure the best fit between our animals and adopters. Story
I'm a nervous guy still learning how to deal with a whirlwind of change. At eight years old, getting everything I know uprooted and turned around is a bit overwhelming. I spend most days curled up in the corner, occasionally peeking out at the world around me. I'm not sour or mean whatsoever, I'm just anxious. I'd really like a family that will be patient with me while I learn to love again. I will almost assuredly come out of my shell after some time and stability in a new home. What I need is someone who won't rush me through it and expect results within days. A calm, quiet home would be ideal. I previously lived with another cat, so I should be fine with some company. Dogs may be too much for me, so I'd prefer to be in a home without. Older kids are preferred as well, young ones may be a little too much for me.

Story
Naiomi is a seven month old kitten coming in at around five pounds. Rather than following the rest of her species, she's decided to develop her own little cat language! She'll growl, hiss, and then roll onto her side and make biscuits and wonder why you're not petting her. For some reason she learned that aggressive noises are the way to communicate, however she's never meant anything by it. Not once has she swatted at staff or given us a hard time. Once you do give her some attention, she'll reward you tenfold with headbutts and tons of cheek rubs. If you're lucky, you'll even get to hear her purr! She's not big on toys at the moment, though that's always bound to change with a young cat. Food is her biggest motivator and will get her to do just about anything. It'll also provide an intimate way for you to bond with her! She's a very sweet girl who'd do well in a home with a patient cat that's willing to accept this language-confused kitty into their life. Dogs may not be the best option for her as she is a little skittish, though an older, slower dog should be fine. Older kids are preferred for the same reason.
