Calico kittens & cats in Lenexa, Kansas

She is very lovey and just needs someone who has time to give her a good home. I have toys and food to give you aswell. She dosent really like dogs.

Peaches and her son, Onxy, used to fend for themselves outside. A kind person took them in during a blizzard in Kansas City. Now Peaches and Onxy have grown to appreciate the comforts of life indoors and have no desire to venture outside. At about five months old, Onxy is coal black with just a little bit of white on his belly. He appreciates tasty food and playing with toys. He's a brave boy who shows his mama the ropes, letting her know that the world isn't so scary. Onxy is very loving and purrs like a big engine. Peaches is about two years old; she was just a baby herself when she had Onxy, but has learned so much from him. Peaches has started to trust humans and is learning to like pets and scratches. If you're patient with her, Peaches will reward you with her love, attention, and purrs. Both kitties have very good manners and are a joy to have. Peaches and Onxy would do best in an adult-only home with patient people. After all, it's not easy to go from living on the street to having everything you've always wanted right before your eyes: a warm, cozy place to sleep; regular, nutritious meals; fresh water; shelter from the rain and snow; and humans who are nice to you. Monkey, a 13-year-old front-declawed calico kitty, is super sweet and affectionate. Her dad passed away a few months ago and she's in need of a new home now. She would like a home where she gets a lot of attention and love, as her dad was a retired gentleman and doted on her all her life. She sure misses him. Nosey, a younger sister to Monkey, is a 5-year-old, female spayed grey tabby. She's also affectionate and loving and gets along famously with Monkey. They can be adopted into separate homes; however, Nosey does not like any other cats but Monkey, so Nosey will need to be in a single-cat household if these two are separated. If you look at this little girl’s left ear, you will notice she has an eartip. That means she was trapped from a feral cat colony to be spayed/vaccinated and released. Sometimes we find some that are actually not feral just timid and scared. So, we decided to keep Janie with us and work on her socialization. She has come so far and we all love her but she is still timid and cautious with strangers. She will take a bit of time to trust you but she will and then she is like a dog. She waits for you at the door and is so happy to see you. She gets along good with other cats and loves to play. Give her a chance, you wont be sorry! Janie, girl, born approx. 2017

This sweet cat is semi-feral has been with ABF for an extended period.  While some progress has been made, there is still wariness of human contact and he will tend to avoid interaction.  This cat has never been exposed to outdoor elements or hunting, so would not be suitable as a barn cat. He is used to living in an air conditioned and heated building with other cats in a very clean room that has lots of windows and is excellent at using the litter box. We would love for him to have a home of his own where he could continue to thrive.

Lovey is a stray found in Cleveland, MO. She is skittish at first, but very loving once she is comfortable. She is very eager for attention. She’s a beautiful kitty and very lonely, looking for a safe, consistent place to call home. I do believe she should remain indoors considering how frantic she was while outdoors.

Dexter found his way to my daughter through a friend. Dexter turned up on her back porch soaking wet. My daughter took him in and he quickly became an important part of her family. We believe Dexter is about 7 years old but we don't know for sure. Dexter needs a loving home. He is very friendly, sweet and likes attention. He is a bit large and has a very small voice. He has been living with my daughter, granddaughter and two other cats. Dexter is the dominate cat and he occasionally asserts that with the other two. It's not bad but he wants them to know he's the boss. This is why I say I don't know if he would be good with other cats. He really is fine with the two he lives with now. Unfortunately, my daughter passed away in February and we need new homes for her cats. I do believe Dexter would be fine as an only cat though he seems to enjoy his two companions. If you would like a cat who is a companion Dexter will fill the bill.

Her name is Zalia 6 yrs old. A chill, loveable cat. Perfect for kids and other animals that may be in your home. Loves toys that she can try to catch and loves food. Also very independent

This spunky monkey kitten girl is Samantha. Samantha is a bit of a firecracker with loads of energy, fun, and confidence. Samantha is also a great lover girl, who isn’t afraid to ask for snuggles and pets, and who also loves to spoon her foster mom at night when they sleep. She also loves to nap under the covers in bed under and beside her foster mom’s legs, hug her foster mom’s neck from behind (this is the best), she LOVES playing and wrestling with her sister Charlotte and kitty toys, she will never say no to treats and wet kitty food, and she also enjoys when her foster mom’s adult cat boys groom and snuggle with her. Samantha is highly intelligent and intuitive, and excels in everything she does, however, she absolutely despises taking medicines, going to the vet, and receiving shots. She has never been around dogs or children, but will probably be okay, while she will probably need to be adopted into a home with another cat/kitten to meet her social needs. Ultimately, Samantha is ready to bring her lightning bolt of kitten energy into your home and your heart.  This kitty should get along with kids, other cats, and cat-friendly dogs given proper introductions. Samantha was born approximately September 1, 2024, and her adoption fee is $160, or adopt two and the second is one-half price. She is spayed, up-to-date on shots and deworming, has a microchip, and tested negative for feline leukemia virus.  You can visit our adoptable cats and kittens during weekend business hours at our adoption center, address and times above. During the week, all our kitties live in licensed foster homes, and while most do come to the adoption center each weekend, not every kitty attends every weekend.
