Penelope is a beautiful dilute calico who was sent to a rescue for reasons unknown, and as that rescue experienced damage to their building, she came into our care. She has such a wonderful personality. She loves to play with tangling toys with her special short legs. It’s unknown to us whether this is a birth defect or attempt at fixing a defect. She is in no pain, enjoys life and wet food for her snack.

She came to us not long after giving birth to her kittens from a good samaritin who found her and took her in and contacted us. All of her babies have been adopted, and now she is awaiting her forever family who will keep her as an indoor cat in the warmth and comfort of her very own home. She absolutely LOVES chasing the laser pointer. She's not a fan of being picked up, but will come to you for pets and attention. Nature came to our sanctuary as a stray who was abandoned near a highway. She is extremely friendly, calm, and docile. She was found meowing on a few porches, expecting to be let into a house as if that's what she's used to. She was easily coaxed into a carrier. She absolutely loves cuddles and enjoys long cat naps in the sun! She seems to be very calm around other animals and all humans.
