Story
We have an 8-year-old spade female cat that we need to rehome. We have two kids and lots of neighborhood kids in and out of the house all the time as well as two other dogs and another cat and she is just so stressed out by the kids and the dogs that she tries to hide under the bed for 98% of the day. She is a sweet girl, but she needs a quieter, less chaotic household.

These pups are in Springfield, Illinois too!

Story
Our last remaining SCAC fall 2021 cat disaster survivor needs a home! Amanda is a cat person's cat. She is her own girl, it's her world, we are living in it. Know that and chin snuggles and purrs are yours (on Amanda's schedule of course). As are most divas, she is beautiful. Amanda came to us among the kitties staff handed out of the facility's full rooms of cats severely infected with upper respiratory as fast as they could in an attempt to save as many animals as possible. It was chaos and a terrible time. Amanda's saving grace was that once we finally got records and could decipher one that was hers, she had been vaccinated. Her case was mild and she responded well to proper treatment. Let us not forget, for the fear those times ever be repeated. Amanda remembers! Amanda was recently placed but returned. It was a short placement; what we tried to tell the adopter is that it takes time, ultimately you and Amanda will sync up and know each other well. Amanda's foster caregivers love her, have been caring for her and handling her for months, months that have often brought the joy of plenty of chin snuggles and purrs. Generally speaking, it is believed Amanda does best as the only animal in the home. There is a chance, with the right cat person, she will coexist if there is ample room in the home for everyone to have their own significant space. We need to find someone with a deep appreciation for cats, who can delight in this girl's feline ways and personality.

Story
Boo is an incredibly affectionate cat. He would make someone a tremendous companion. He just wants to be with you, and sit on your lap. Boo spent early months of his life as a stray, most likely abandoned. Unfortunately he was infected with FIV. Boo is a lover not a fighter, but that could not be said of every cat in his original neighborhood. Further, he was injured badly and had a rough go of it for a number of months. He is on prednisone and most likely will need to remain on this support for the rest of his life -- at least that is the outlook for now. His specials needs, therefore, are that he is FIV positive and must be maintained on prednisone. The prednisone stimulates his appetite, which is why he is a bit on the heavy side. Boo would very much like to find a home where he could be fully integrated in the household. So he is looking for that special person who can accommodate his needs. He is worth every bit of this needed consideration. Due to his medical condition, the veterinarians have been cautious about vaccines.

Story
Kasima means "beauty and elegance" and for this girl, it also means friendly, curious, and playful. This pretty 4-year-old lady has a great out-going personality and is at ease with guests. Definite black stripes mark silver fur with touches of honey brown. Kasima has good inside manners and faithfully uses her scratching post and litter box. She is quite fond of her squeaky mouse (which she freed from the end of her fishing pole toy) and is quick to toss it about and wrestle it into submission. Her feelings about being around children and other cats are not known. However, this little lady would be a great companion as she likes to be close to her human. Kasima enjoys being petted and picked up for a quick cuddle. She is very slow to warm up to other animals in the home, and would really be best as the only pet in the household. Kasima has been diagnosed with feline lower urinary tract disease (FLUTD) and requires a prescription urinary care diet. The diet is working very well for her. She also has had a dental, three teeth were extracted. Sometimes, when her foster parent is standing outside the apartment door getting ready to come in, Kasima will make greeting meows and chirps from the other side of the door. Kasima is spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations. She weighs 8.5 pounds. If you are interested in adopting a young, terrific cat, you can stop looking. Kasima is your little lady.
