Story
Mama Mia was most likely dumped as a kitten or possibly born as a stray. She was barely more than a baby herself but had taken care of 6 babies and kept them safe for the first four months of their lives. She was happy to have the food that I was putting out but she was just so unsure of people. I set up a safe place for her in the storage building and she did finally go in there where I was finally able to catch her. The first few days were scary for her but she soon figured out that all I wanted to do was love her. She will need a home with someone who has patience and some experience with shy cats. She is fine with everyone here at this point and will learn to trust someone else but it will take a little time, love and patience. She is in an open cat room where all roam freely as she gets along well with the other cats. She is guessed to have been born around 10/17/2022 and has been spayed, microchipped, up to date on her Feline shot and had her rabies shot. Her adoption fee is $100. If interested in this beautiful girl, please go to pawspaws.org to complete the PAWS application. Please note: The Petfinder Inquiry is not the PAWS application. You must leave the Petfinder site and log onto the PAWS website at pawspaws.org to complete the application. Thanks so much for your interest!

Story
Logan was a two week old kitten when he first came to PAWS. His mother and five kittens were found trying to survive in an alley. They were all pitifully malnourished and covered in fleas but he was especially tiny and almost lifeless. Poor mamma didn't have the strength to clean them or herself. It is a miracle that they even survived. But they fought so hard to live and now they are thriving! It took two weeks of constant care for him to begin to show much energy or strength and he stayed so small. But slowly he began to gain ground and, although he is still the smallest of the litter, he is strong and healthy. He loves to be cuddled and petted and will generally fall asleep in your hands! He is sweet and loving but does take a little time to warm up to new folks. He currently weighs just under three pounds and was born 03/22/2023. (Based on the date he opened his eyes). His adoption fee is $100. He is spayed and microchipped. He will not be old enough for his rabies shot until 07/23/2023. If you would like to meet him, please go to pawspaws.org to complete the PAWS application. Please note: the Petfinder Inquiry is not the PAWS application. Once we have reviewed and approved your application, we will contact you to set up a meet and greet. Thanks so much for your interest in this precious baby!

Story
Moses and his siblings were born at PAWS one day after their pregnant mother was surrendered. He is an adorable little boy with short black hair with underlying grey stripes (Ghost coat). He is funny and playful. Since his mom is FIV positive, he was tested at 6 months of age and he is negative. His adoption fee is $100. If interested, please go to pawspaws.org to complete the PAWS application. Please note that Starting the Inquiry on this site is not the PAWS application. You will need to leave the Petfinder site and log onto pawpaws.org and choose the application. Once that is approved, we can set up a time for a meet and greet. Thanks so much for your interest and cooperation!

Story
Margo came to PAWS pregnant and gave birth to five beautiful babies the very next day. She had been living as a stray on the streets of Cairo, IL, for all of her life as far as we know. But a kind gentleman came to her rescue and began to feed her and provide shelter for her. He was sad to surrender her but said he just could not continue to care for her and just wanted her to be safe. She is THE sweetest cat I have ever known and she is beautiful. (Unfortunately, she is not very photogenic so her pictures really don't do her justice!) She is immediately friendly with everyone and just wants to love and be loved. She is very quiet and calm and has been an exceptionally great mom. Now that she has the babies old enough to go to their forever homes, it is her turn to have the love and comfort of her very own home and family. She has been spayed, microchipped and has a rabies shot. She did test positive for FIV but I pray that does not stop someone from giving this precious girl the life that she deserves. Most research shows that this can only be transmitted to other cats through a deep puncture wound. It is not a danger to humans. She can live a perfectly normal life, she just may not live quite as long as a non FIV cat. Please consider welcoming this girl into your home. Her adoption fee is $100 and she is ready to go home. If interested, please go to pawspaws.org to complete the application. Once I have an approved application, I will contact you to schedule a meet and greet.
