Story
Callie is a sweet old lady with lots of love to give. A natural born lap cat. She is queen of the house and likes to sit and observe (judge lol) everything. She has some abandonment issues from where my mom passed away and will require a little patience as she adjusts, but she makes the purrfect best friend.

Story
Ellen was a feral stray who kept having her kittens at a kind person's house.  They were able to catch her and her 3 kittens to get them to safety.   Ellen's past has left her somewhat feral and slow to trust.   ##1632061##

Story
Update: Gyro is getting much more comfortable. He doesn't run and hide when he see people any longer, but when approached he does try to find a safe corner. He loves other cats and loves to play with them. He is slowly coming around, but is still in desperate need of a home where he and maybe a buddy can get personal love.Gyro needs you to be his superhero. He is looking for that kind, patient person to give him a home. He came in as a young kitten with his litter mates. They all had sickness and issues and finally got all better. Everyone else from the litter became very friendly, but Gyro remained scared and a bit fearful of humans. We let him out to try and get some more interaction out of the kennel, but he chose to hide and continue to run from us. We have tried to work with him, but it is difficult for a handful of volunteers to give Gyro the attention he needs. This is why he needs that special person to help him out!! Could it be you?Gyro has been fully vetted - altered, vaccinated, combo tested and microchipped. Because he will have to be “worked with”, we are offering Gyro at a reduced adoption fee of $75 to cover a portion of the vetting. Gyro needs to be kept inside and fully acclimated. Once familiar with his family and territory, he may be able to become an indoor/outdoor cat. But remember, they haven’t been outside since they were tiny, so take that into consideration. If you are that wonderful person, please let us know and we will set up a meet and greet!! Please note that we have several other soft ferals at our shelter and they usually do better with another cat. This seems to give them courage and comfort while they become used to their new home. It would be fabulous if a terrific person decided to give 2 cats in need of warmth and love a great home and chance and a wonderful life!!!Here is a little more information about Semi-Feral Cats: These cats are generally born outside, and not having human contact, are very shy initially. With lots of love and patience, a semi-feral cat can become a loyal, devoted pet. The semi-feral cats at the shelter have been socialized to varying degrees. Some let you pet them and some you cannot touch because they have not yet learned to trust. They are not aggressive, just frightened. Semi-feral cats generally love the company of other cats, and therefore, make great companion animals. Please keep in mind that semi-feral cats do not make good pets for households with young children, as they are easily frightened.

Story
Klondike Bar says he is getting better. He doesn't run off from people and will let you pet him. He wants to show the person who gives him the home how loving he can become.Klondike Bar is all vetted and ready to go to a home, but it will need to be a special home. He and the litter of kittens he came in with were very sick and he spent a lot of time in his kennel and they were so contagious, he wasn't handled very often, except to be medicated. This did not help him learn to love and trust humans. He did come to learn that we were the ones to did make him feel better and fed him and took care of him. He is now out of the kennel, but when he is approached, he will run. He does like to be petted, but it is something you have to corner him and then begin petting him. He really needs a very patient person who would be willing to give him a home and let him just hang out until he is comfortable. It will probably happen, but there is no telling how long the time line would be. He does enjoy other cats and he would be a good working cat. Want to be a hero to Klondike Bar? Come meet him and see if you could provide a good place for him.Kondike Bar has been fully vetted - altered, vaccinated, combo tested and microchipped. Because he will have to be “worked with”, we are offering him at a reduced adoption fee of $75 to cover a portion of the vetting. He needs to be kept inside and fully acclimated. Once familiar with their family and territory, he may be able to become an indoor/outdoor cat. But remember, they haven’t been outside since they were tiny, so take that into consideration. He will do best if he is adopted along with another soft feral. Several of his littermates fall into this category. Snow Cone is one of them that is an option. They learn to trust and become comfortable much more quickly when they have a buddy to hang with and curl up with for comfort. If you are that wonderful person, please let us know and we will set up a meet and greet!!Here is a little more information about Semi-Feral Cats: These cats are generally born outside, and not having human contact, are very shy initially.
