Story
SALLY and LUCY Sally and Lucy are calico sisters, about 9-1/2 months old at this posting. They are seeking a loving, devoted home which they can completely rule and dominate, with people who will be their total servants and vassals and who will spoil them completely in the way they have become accustomed to. They are spayed (December 2023), fully vetted through their kittenhood, up-to-date on shots including Rabies, FVRCP and FeLV, and extremely healthy and active. They MUST go together as a pair, as they are totally bonded- they play, chase, wrestle, cuddle and sleep together constantly. They also (we are convinced) collaborate on effective schemes to steal human food at every possible opportunity- they’re particularly fond of chicken and bacon. SALLY is a classic calico, multicolored in black, orange and white- her markings are beautiful and unique, like she was assembled late on a Friday when few matching parts remained in stock. She has long legs (rear slightly longer than front, for speed) and a very long tail, a gorgeous face and eyes, and has soft short fur. She is a cuddler, loves to sit on laps and purr and nuzzle and be loved. LUCY is a dilute calico; her colors are blue/grey, peach and white rather than Sally’s black, orange and white. Like Sally, her markings are unique and beautiful. Lucy has the long tail and long legs, but even softer fur than Sally. Lucy loves her pets but is more likely to pick her own times to cuddle; she’s more likely to curl up next to you or come look you in the eye than get in your lap. And when plots are being hatched to steal human food, our observation is that Lucy is the brains of the outfit, the planner, while Sally is the executor of the plans- Sally is faster and sneakier! But both are VERY food-motivated for sure! These two need a VERY loving, attentive forever home to go to and totally rule- they would be ideal for younger families - they seem to get along OK with other cats and with some dogs, but truly prefer each others’ company above any other animals- and they have PLENTY of love and affection to share with their humans! They’re VERY sweet sociable kittens and would be EXCELLENT pets - they already are! Only two rules about their adoptors: (1) They MUST be willing to spoil them and love them and take excellent care of them as INSIDE cats, including annual veterinary care, and we’d prefer to be kept in the loop with pictures and stories- we’ve become hopelessly fond of them ourselves- and (2) If, for any reason whatever, you decide you can’t keep them or wish not to keep them, they MUST be returned to US- not just turned in to a shelter or rescue- no explanation needed, but WE want them back rather than see them take their chances out there- no matter if it’s twenty years from now!

Story
Hi there, unfortunately we need to rehome our cat. We have had Keiko for 6 years and rescued her from Jacksonville Animal Shelter. About 2+ years ago, I started having a lot of allergy and sinus problems. Turns out, I am severely allergic to cats. I have looked at other ways to deal with my reaction. Constantly changing air filters, obsessively cleaning, I use a navage daily & take prescription allergy pills but the medicine is no longer effective. As such, Keiko has been confined to one room of our home and it is just not fair to her anymore. I am looking for someone who loves cats and can take her in and care for her. She is an indoor cat. Outside has always been in an enclosed area. Of course we will give you the remaining food, litter, litter box, bowls, toys, and cat tower. She is a very sweet cat and we really want to make sure she goes to a good home. Child friendly and gets along with dogs - we have 2. Please message me if you are interested.

Story
Hi, you can call me Cersei! I'm a 5 month old tabico girl, which is a calico but with tabby stripes! I'm the most outgoing of my siblings, and I'm going to want you to play with me, especially if you've got a wand toy. I probably like being pet the best of my siblings, too--I'm just a little braver than they are. Maybe you can adopt one of them with me so we can play together?    The adoption fee covers the following: spay or neuter surgery; one-year rabies vaccine; feline or canine distemper vaccine; heartworm test (dogs) or combo (fiv/felv) test (cats); deworming; and microchip. Carroll County Animal Shelter is located at 251 Automation Drive in Carrollton GA. Phone: 770-214-3590. The hours of operation are: Monday through Wednesday 12:30 pm till 4:30 pm; Thursday 12:30 pm till 6:00 pm; Friday 12:30 pm till 4:30 pm; Saturday 9:00 am till 4:00 pm. The Carroll County Animal Shelter will be closed the last Friday of every month for deep cleaning, staff training, and animal enrichment.    November 12, 2024, 9:44 pm

I like kids, so if you have kids, I'm a good girl for you to make part of your furever family. I love playing with my friend, and I can be a little squirmy when I'm being held, but that's just because I want to zoom around and play! Story
Allow me to introduce Cheeto, a resilient feline with a heart as big as his journey. Despite a rocky beginning, he embodies the spirit of perseverance and resilience that defines his character. Abandoned and left to fend for himself, Cheeto was discovered covered in oil, a symbol of neglect and abandonment. Fortunately, a compassionate neighbor intervened, bringing him into the care of his foster mom, who became his guiding light on the path to recovery. Cheeto's capacity for love knows no bounds, and he thrives on the warmth of human affection. A gentle soul, he finds solace in the simple pleasures of life, content to observe the world from his vantage point. Whether basking in the sun or curling up in a cozy corner, he embraces each moment with quiet grace. While he enjoys the company of other cats and finds joy in playful interactions, Cheeto is equally content in his own company. His adaptable nature allows him to find happiness wherever he goes, grateful for the love and care he receives each day. Despite his remarkable resilience, Cheeto does have some special needs that require attention. A heart condition necessitates medication twice daily, a small price to pay for the boundless love he offers in return. Fortunately, Georgia Heartland generously supports his medical care, ensuring that his needs are met without placing a burden on his future family. In addition to his medication regimen, Cheeto follows a special diet that consists exclusively of dry food, catering to his unique dietary requirements. While he may have had some challenges in the past, including a propensity for spraying, Cheeto has made tremendous strides in his journey toward healing and relaxation. As Cheeto eagerly awaits his second chance at a loving family, his foster parents stand ready to share insights into his gentle nature and remarkable resilience. With a heart full of love and a spirit that refuses to be dimmed, Cheeto is poised to bring joy and companionship to his forever home, enriching the lives of those fortunate enough to welcome him into their hearts. ##990677##

Story
We adopted Cookie when she was 3 months old from the Humane Society. She is a young adult born on September 7, 2019. She prefers a quiet environment where she can snuggle up with people. Instead of going outside, Cookie prefers to enjoy the sights of the outdoors from a window. Any insect that sneaks into the house is swatted down by Cookie. She loves treats and playing with feathers and soft toys. We don't believe Cookie has ever felt fully comfortable in our home. Our house tends to be a bit hectic where we have children running around, other cats and a dog. Cookie frequently stays hidden away until she must come out for food, water or use the litter box. It breaks our hearts to see her scared and anxious. We believe she would thrive in a quieter home where she can relax and just love on someone. We are happy to have Cookie in our family as long as possible, but if there is a better home for her, we love her enough to give her what she deserves.

Story
Gizmo was born in May, 2022. Our friend had an outdoor female cat who had three kittens - two of the kittens were killed by wildlife and we took Gizmo. Although we provided him with a safe home, Gizmo prefers the outdoors. He spends most of the day hunting small prey and lounging in the sun on the back deck until he's ready to pop in for food. Gizmo's kind of a rebel. He sneaks drinks out of the fish tank, food out of the dog bowl, doesn't care if you squirt him with a spray bottle, and lays all over tables and countertops. He likes to be pet on the head and under his chin, but not his body. Aside from his rebelliousness, he doesn't cause any problems with other pets or people. He just wants to be outside and act as macho as possible. We often have a house full of kids and don't want Gizmo getting territorial around them. If there is a home where he can roam around and feel like a king, we are willing to let him go be his best self.
