Story
Mabel lost her human owner and during the recovery of his body, she was so confused that she ran out the door and was missing in the Rocky Mountains around Meeker for 2 months. Mabel's story is unique, and she needs your help! Though she has been recovered and is now stable in a foster home, the stress of life caused Mabel to begin to urinate outside her litterbox. After her vet work-up, she was diagnosed with sterile cystitis which is where there is no infection or bacteria, but the body is creating a stress hormone. The stress hormone causes the feline urinary lining to become inflamed and they can have changed in their bathroom habits. She is now on a urinary diet and taking a calming probiotic powder. *During the move to her new home, she may flare again and need the help of a Veterinarian who would prescribe another round of steroids for her. She is very low maintenance otherwise, and sweet! She wants to be around humans all the time, meows often, and rolls around!

These pups are in Broomfield, Colorado too!

Story
FROM PREVIOUS RESCUE: Tiara was part of a 4 kitten litter who were surrendered because they were all extremely sick and the owner couldn’t afford vet fees.  It took quite a while and a lot of medicating and syringe feeding to get them healthy and growing. Tiara is a little shy with strangers, but once she knows she is safe, she is sweet and affectionate.   UPDATE: Tiara settled into her foster home in Evergreen fairly well. She is truly shy at first meeting, still uncertain. Now she is at the EAPL Adoption Center at Chow Down.  Any adopter needs to be patient as she makes another transition into a new home. But she has made huge strides and enjoys being pet .  Complete a cat application at www.eapl.com - after approval to adopt, you can arrange a meet and greet. November 5, 2024, 2:57 pm

Story
DO NOT CONTACT EAPL!! CONTACT OWNER DIRECTLY:  Nicki    nicki@jsimonson.com Daisy is an elderly (15 yrs), sweet gray tabby cat, who has her spurts of attention seeking meowing.  She spends most of her day snoozing on the couch or on the windowsill watching the birds outside.  She would be best in a quiet, unactive home, where she is the only pet.  She is ok with dogs but would prefer to not be bothered by them.  Her owner passed unexpectedly and other family members have cats that don't do well with others.   November 5, 2024, 2:57 pm

Story
End Zone was the shyest of the group on intake, but she has made so much progress.  I can approach her and she no longer hisses and runs.  Instead, she will stay and let me pet her.   She has started to lean into my touch and purr.   Endzone is more cautious than her foster mates.   She likes to let one of her friends go first in a new situation unless it involves bird watching.  She loves to watch birds and is happiest looking out a window.   She also loves to play around with her foster mates but will take a little time to join in, just watching and taking it in at first.  You can see in her eyes that she is ready to be open to trust and affection, she just needs a little more time and encouragement.   Endzone enjoys running around in a tunnel and chasing her foster mates around.   She has really connected with our 5 year old male cats; she follows them around and seemed to gain confidence learning from them.    End Zone has recently moved to our  EAPL Cat Adoption Center at Chow Down Pet Supplies in Bergan Park.  Be sure to give all the cats some love when visiting.  Complete a cat application on the rescue's website - www.eapl.com - once approved, you can take home the cat meant for you.  (Don't let her hiss frighten you off - she's just setting her boundaries,) November 5, 2024, 2:57 pm
