Hi, I’m Yael. I was rescued from a Seal Beach alley with my three kittens a few years ago. What a relief it was to get off the street into a safe place. I was not used to being around people and I still don’t allow people to approach me but I don’t hide as much as I used to and no longer run for my life when someone enters my room at SBACC. I enjoy the company of other cats and am comfortable here. I wouldn’t mind living out my years where I’m loved and cared for by a wonderful team of volunteers and staff. This beautiful girl Ava is a very calm kitten that mostly likes to lounge around on the cat tree or on top of the couch watching everything that’s going on. She is a little shy at first when being introduced to new environments but once she settles in she will come right to your lap to receive some love. She is your best friend if you have treats or a wand toy. She does like other cats and will become fast friends with them after 2-3 days of getting to know them. She has a very laid back demeaner and nothing much startles her.

Violeta is a quiet kitty yet very playful. She loves wrestling with her foster sisters and playing with all kinds of toys. She also likes to take time out of her play to come and cuddle with you. She won’t leave you once you start petting her and will purr until she falls asleep. Violeta is also very gentle when play-fighting with you. Abbie is a friend to all and would be a great mentor for younger cats, as she mentored Peter. She's kind and gentle to her cat friends and humans. She can often be found curled up in a fluffy donut bed, or cuddling next to the nicer one of my resident cats or me. Abbie easily gives out chirps and trills. Abbie was living outside before she was rescued. She had and horrible abscess at the base of her tail which resulted in it having to be amputated. Through all this, she remained sweet as could be! She does dribble and leak urine and sometimes doesn't make it to the litterbox quite fast enough. She gets a medication twice a day that's also a human medicine. It's easy to do - I wrap it in a tiny amount of pill wrap and drop it at the back of her throat and she takes it like a champ. She'll be on that and prescription urinary food likely for the rest of her life. Stress can agitate her condition (FIC - feline idiopathic cystitis) so it's best to keep a strict routine and to have stability in the household. During times of extreme stress, she may develop bloody urine.
