Good with cats, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Hi, I’m Yael. I was rescued from a Seal Beach alley with my three kittens a few years ago. What a relief it was to get off the street into a safe place. I was not used to being around people and I still don’t allow people to approach me but I don’t hide as much as I used to and no longer run for my life when someone enters my room at SBACC. I enjoy the company of other cats and am comfortable here. I wouldn’t mind living out my years where I’m loved and cared for by a wonderful team of volunteers and staff.  Maybe if the right person came along, I could adjust to a new home, but SBACC feels like home. Story
Jessica was adopted out when she was a tiny kitten. Due to no fault of her own, Jessica somehow ended up at the shelter. We waited no time to get her back to us. She has been through some hard time and we hope to find her a loving home that is forever. She is a little reserved at first but with a short time to trust, she is a very loving cat. This gorgeous girl is gentle and would do best with other docile cats or as the only cat where she can take her time to come out of her shell. Jessica is being adopted through the San Gabriel Valley Animal Advocates. Story
A volunteer was driving in Westminster and came across a cardboard box sitting underneath a parked truck with three kittens inside. A concerned neighbor had been feeding the kittens for a few weeks while trying to find them somewhere to go with no luck. He said the mother cat had been hit by a car a couple weeks earlier, and her kittens were left. All three kittens were out in the freezing, cold rain trying to fend for themselves. Unfortunately, this compassionate neighbor had too many animals to adopt them himself. Our vet confirmed they all had mites, mange, and giardia. All three issues have been successfully cured and Marco, Polo and Poly are ready to find new homes. Polo, a black, orange and white calico, is a bit timid at first but she will warm up with patience and gentle persuasion. She does enjoy playing with her brother Marco and if you would be willing to adopt two cats Marco and Polo would be a good pair of friends. They would complement each other and be best friends for life. Please apply to adopt Polo at www.AALOC.org. Once your application is reviewed and approved we will contact you to make an appointment to visit us at AALOC to meet Polo and get to know her a bit. Donation of $100 for cat adoption includes spay/neuter, vaccinations, and a microchip. Applications require a veterinary reference and home visit. We adopt to residents of Orange County, CA and surrounding areas. Please note: For families with children, we require children to be 10 years of age or older, although exceptions are made depending on the circumstances. For more information on adoption policies visit our cat adoption page at www.aaloc.org. Contact us by e-mail at aaloc@aaloc.org.

Story
Two young women approached the AALOC front door and rang the doorbell. With only one team member working that afternoon handling all the animals’ needs she was unable to respond immediately. When no one answered quickly enough the two women left the box with five precious female kittens and drove away. We are currently maxed out on space but how can you turn your back on these sweet little babies that no one cares about? We named these adorable, female cats after perfumes. If you’ve ever owned a cat, you know healthy cats smell delicious. They constantly groom themselves to keep their fur clean. Cats also use smell as their primary sense for identifying people and objects. Felines have over 200 million odor sensors in their nose. Compare this to humans who have a mere five million. Cats can smell more than 14 times better than we can so always be conscious of the smell of scented litter, candles or other items/people that might upset your cat. Besides, we think Estee, Chanel, Prada, Gucci and Tabu are very upscale cats. And we know they all need and deserve great forever homes. Please apply to adopt Estee (and one or more of her siblings if you can!) at www.aaloc.org. Once your application is reviewed and approved, we will contact you to make an appointment to visit us at AALOC to meet Estee and get to know her a bit. Donation of $100 for cat adoption includes spay/neuter, vaccinations, and a microchip. Applications require a veterinary reference and home visit. Story
Hi, I’m Cisco. I came to SBACC in July of 2011 with my brother Poncho when we were about 14 weeks old. We were both very frightened and went into foster care together. My brother was a bit more outgoing than I am and he finally got adopted. I am nervous around people I don't know and usually keep to myself. If I know someone, I may allow  petting, especially when it's quiet. I respond to quiet voices and I love treats.  I get along fine with the other mellow cats in my room.  I’m comfortable here and wouldn’t mind living out my senior years where I’m loved and cared for by a wonderful team of volunteers and staff.  Maybe if the right person came along, I could adjust to a new home, but after all this time at SBACC, it feels like home! Hi, I’m Lambchop.  I  arrived at SBACC as a kitten along with my brother and sister.  We were all very scared. My sister made progress and found her forever home, but my brother Louie, and I are still here at SBACC, we prefer the company of other cats to people. While we will sometimes get involved in playing with a toy on a string, we don’t welcome pets or being picked up.
