Story
Nellie is a really good cat. She loves to stare out the window and sunbathe. She is good with other cats but prefers to be an only cat. She likes to rest but occasionally enjoys playing with toys. She’s not much of a cuddler but shows affection on her own terms by liking and rubbing on you.

Story
Meet Karaoke, the ultimate bundle of high-energy fun! This playful little dynamo absolutely loves wand toys and can jump and play for hours on end. With a personality that thrives in active homes, Karaoke enjoys being around both kids and other cats, making her the perfect fit for a lively family. While she’s still a bit shy and doesn’t always ask for attention, if you initiate playtime, she’s all in, ready to pounce and entertain. Karaoke likes to be held for a bit, but once she’s ready, she’ll wriggle free to get back to what she loves most—playing! She's nonstop fun and will bring endless joy to a household that can match her energy. Karaoke also has an adorable habit of curling up for naps on top of a large stuffed dinosaur, adding even more charm to her playful personality. After all that jumping and playing, she enjoys a cozy rest with her favorite plush companion. If you're looking for an active, fun-loving kitten who also knows how to relax in style, Karaoke is the one for you! Prior to adoption, all kittens are spayed/neutered, tested for FIV/FELV, vaccinated and microchipped. Kittens under 5 months old must be adopted with a buddy or into a house where there's a kitten-friendly pet. This kitten is currently in a foster home. To meet this kitten, please fill out an adoption application so that we'll have your contact information, and we'll get back to you as soon as possible. www.thedancingcat.org/adoptJanuary 15, 2025, 2:21 pm

Story
Tai is friendly and cuddly. She doesn't like to get picked up but does like to sit on people's lap or belly. She likes belly rubs, neck/head/ear work, and back scratching - she likes petting just about everywhere reasonable. She does her own thing and sleeps in the sun during the day, does meow lightly for lunch/dinner, and is very quick to cuddle in bed at night. Tai does do laser, string, and mouse/self play when she's safely alone (from her brother cat, see below) and explores and moves well. I think she's probably fine with another animals that don't attack her - she hisses at her brother cat (because he tackles her) but also cleans him at night. Sometimes her lower lip is pouty and it looks really funny. To summarize, her brother cat is constantly harrasing her. Since Tai is the most normal and unambiguously cuddly of the two I figure it'd be easier to find a safe home for her. Tai and Henri were sister/brother cats trapped for spay/neuter & vet care in South Brooklyn in late 2016. I adoped both of them from a animal rescue group in the beginning of 2017, and they've been living indoors with me ever since. Tai's brother cat is a bit larger and has a very active personality. He loves to chase and tackle her. I can't seem to tire him out, a few hours after play he'll go back to stalking her. This has lead to her avoiding the litter box and peeing in unfortunate places. I recently took them to the vet again, and they didn't find a UTI but agree that it sounds like it's the brother cat that's the problem. The vet has suggested behavioural counseling and psychiatric meds for the brother, but I don't want to go down that road. This has been going on too long, and Tai deserves a safe home. Tai needs to not be attacked or stalked by other animals. I think she'd do okay with other animals that don't pounce on her, except that she *loves* to watch birds with obviously murderous intent, so keep her away from them. Tai can be fairly independent, she'll usually sit in the window most of the day unless she's waiting for an offered hand for scrtiches or for food/treats. She's smart and I did teach her to hit pingpong balls for treats. Tai has had all the vaccines that the vet offered, and I believe she's not positive for FIV (I have her record at home but I'm 99% sure she isn't positive for anything like that). She was overweight about 6 months ago, but most recently she was on target for weight. She has had some FORL tooth reabsorbtion lesions. The vet said that's not necessary to deal with (since it wasn't affecting her behavior at all) but since I was trying to find her a new home I recently opted for some optional surgery and teeth cleaning to help with that. She wasn't terribly difficult to administer antibiotics to with a syringe, she's wiggly but not too bad. She has had a UTI in the past when things were really stressful around the apartment, so I make sure to put a tablespoon or two of water onto her food to make sure she's hydrated. All in all, she doesn't have any outstanding health issues except for the FORL, but that's not something that my vet said was necessary to deal with. Tai is currently living in Mountain View, CA 94040 More information & application [ts=1743303757&src=aap]

Story
Pickles is goofy, affectionate, outgoing, friendly, sweet, and snuggly, and loves tummy rubs and attention. He takes *very* easily to new folks and will be asleep on their lap within an hour of meeting them. As a senior cat, he needs more experienced care, but he is still active and spry. He's about 10 years old. Originally an indoor-outdoor farm cat, he's been an indoor housecat for ~4 years. He grew up around numerous other cats, he is best as a solo pet. Pickles has a sensitive tummy and will vomit on rare occasion. He also, on *very* rare occasion, may urinate on strong smelling/damp fabrics (We learned to hang our bathmats). Pickles also has dental disease and is missing a tooth from a prior injury. He would do well to have some further teeth removed. An ideal house for Pickles would be roomy, with places to climb up on and sun himself. Pickles does not scratch furniture if he has a scratching post. He loves mouse toys and catnip and will happily play with you for 20-30 min.
