Once upon a time there was a very young kitten names Princess Buttercup, living on the streets of Oakland. She was alone and hungry. One day she noticed a couple of older cats nearby talking about how good their dinner was. She followed them until she saw where they were eating. She got so excited and went right up to the plate of food from the nice humans and then wham! hiss!! scratch! yeow! She realized she would have to compete with the other cats who got there first, so she tried to be friends. But it was hard on the street. Then suddenly - the humans started paying more attention to Buttercup. They noticed how cute and friendly she is and how much she likes to cuddle and purr. Buttercup discovered that courage didn’t always mean being the toughest cat at the food plate. Sometimes it meant waiting patiently. Though the streets had taught her caution, her heart stayed soft. After all, every true princess knows that kindness is her greatest strength.

Olive gets along with senior cats and younger cats in her foster home. She enjoys playing with small fuzzy critters toys and ball toys. Olive communicates with her foster mom when she wants attention with a meow or two and she allows being picked up but doesn't like being held for too long – she's Miss Independent! Olive eats a diet of Fancy Feast and Pura Vita kibble. She likes hanging with her orange tabby brother Leon. Olive was rescued after being dumped at an auto store. She may be a little shy at first, but is a very loving animal and deserves a home of her own. Olive gets along very well with other cats. She was born in March 2025, approximately. Miso was born in May 2023 and has a very sweet, affectionate nature. She loves to cuddle and be close once she feels safe, though she can be a little slow to warm up with new people at first. When she bonds, she bonds deeply. She has lived in a home with a young infant and other animals and has done well socially, but she has very strong needs for stimulation, attention, and outdoor access. In a previous home, she was able to go outside regularly, and it became clear over time that this freedom is extremely important for her well-being and sense of security. Miso would thrive best in a calm, attentive home where she can receive lots of love and one-on-one attention, ideally with safe outdoor access or a setting that allows her to explore and expend energy. She is sensitive and intuitive, and does best when her environment aligns with her natural instincts. We are looking for a home that can meet her needs fully and give her the space, consistency, and affection she deserves.

Gorgeous is a little heartbreaking panther. He's a boneless noodle-adjacent muffin making machine who will not be contained. He's chewed through his playpen a couple of times, earning himself a stay in a metal cage for now. He's clever, persistent, and ridiculously cute. He knows how cute he is and uses his advantage. He loves attention, he hates to be left alone. He would do well to be adopted with a sibling or by an attentive person. There are 5 kitties we are working to rescue in our neighborhood. We chose not to send them to a shelter so that we could be sure they got the attention they needed for socializing and weren't euthanized. Our neighbors are helping, providing stuff and support. They're doing well, but are still getting used to people and new things. Because of their outdoor beginnings, we believe they'll revert and disappear if let back outside.
