Story
Found all alone in Napa, Telly came to WCAL from an AT&T maintenance yard as an itty bitty baby who needed to be bottle-fed. You may have seen her on WCAL's social media! Telly is a petite little girl who is 100% athlete. There isn't a surface she can't reach! She's also smart and really fun to share a home with. Every once in a while, Telly even slows down enough to cuddle! She loves her humans and is an amazing young cat. Her foster family has nothing but great things to say about this beautiful and outspoken calico. We're looking for an adopter who agrees and won't mind providing a special diet and attentive care.We had some trouble weaning this little baby from a bottle onto canned food because she wasn't able to keep solids down at first. Telly was spayed and got a nose-to-tail sedated examination of her throat, esophagus, stomach, and intestines. No abnormalities or polyps or physical defects were found, but as she grew up a little bit, we noticed irritated red ulcers on her lips. Her vet confirmed with a biopsy that she's an extra sensitive girl who suffers from indolent ulcers (also called eosinophilic granulomas). These are not painful or itchy, but they can cause difficulty eating and we certainly don't want them to get infected or become a bigger issue for her. Luckily these small ulcers on the lips are usually caused by a food or flea allergy (both of which we can treat!) and this tracks with our observations about Telly's extra sensitive digestive system. She is now eating a special hydrolyzed diet and will need to continue monthly flea meds (even as an indoor-only kitty) to keep her feeling her very best. If you would enjoy sharing your home with an outspoken calico princess and don't mind feeding her a special diet to keep her feeling her best, then we have the kitten for you! This kitten is one of those extra special babies - the ones our volunteers have bottle-raised. Kittens raised by humans are extra comfortable around people and love attention. Since they didn't have the opportunity to be raised by a mama cat, they have zero street smarts and we are looking for a family who is committed to keeping them indoorsonlyfor life. Act fast if you'd like to have a WCAL bottle baby in your family. Follow us on social media for daily updates! Story
GiGi is sponsored by: Michael Snider SNAP Cats rescued GiGI from Palm Springs, CA. This girl is all Calico! And you know what THAT means. Sweet one minute; not so sweet the next. Age has mellowed her a bit, but she still has that edge that makes calicos, well, calicos. The perfect home? A calm, kid-free environment with a high perch and a window to watch the birds outside would be ideal. Oh, and wet food. GiGi LOVES wet food. Gotta have that! The right flavor, of course. Which varies from day to day. Of course. If you’re interested in May please fill out an adoption application at https://www.snapcats.org/category/adoption/catsforadoption/. Matilde is sponsored by: Alice Weigel SNAP Cats rescued Matilde from Mozambique, Africa. Matilde is a very sweet kitty. She’ll greet you when you come in the room, and solicit pets until it’s enough. She is a Calico after all. Matilde gets along well with other cats or will fit in nicely as an only cat. BTW: Please don't be afraid of FIV. It's nothing. Really. Slightly compromised immune system. That's it. Just like a FIV- cat, Matilde will live a long, healthy life if you take good care of her. Matilde's not aggressive toward other cats so there's no chance of her transmitting it. If you’re interested in Matilde please fill out an adoption application at https://www.snapcats.org/category/adoption/catsforadoption/. Thanks.October 15, 2024, 5:39 pm
