Story
This happy-go-lucky, full of life little guy is Rico and we believe he is a Cairn Terrier mix 22 pounds about 5 years old. Rico had a rough start when he came into our Rescue. It was determined he needed both of his knees replaced for him to be pain free. His recovery went very well. As a result of a successful surgery, he is now able to play Fetch, his favorite activity. Rico takes direction well and wants to please his humans. He is also respectful of cats. Would do best in an all-adult household or with children 10 yrs or older. He is good on car rides and comes with great house manners as well as being a first class cuddler. Are you his forever home at last? (An adoption fee of $400 is required.) Just let us know you're interested in this dog. We do our best to match families and dogs so everyone is pleased and the placement is permanent. We reserve the right to refuse an applicant if the home situation is incompatible with the needs of the rescue dog. Rescue is about doing our best for the dog. We do home and reference checks. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and are up to date with current vaccinations before being placed in their forever homes.

Story
Scrappy was taken in by the rescue after him and 14 other dogs were removed by Animal Control due to neglect. They were living outside with little care of human interaction. He was in rough shape with very little hair, covered in fleas, underweight with nails that had grown into his feet. He was terrified of people and his in the laundry room for a few weeks. Within a few months, he has blossomed. He has grown back hair and put on weight. He is all healthy, neutered, chipped, and up to date on his shots. He has learned to LOVE people and turned into a cuddle bug who wants to sit on your lap and sleep with you. He loves car rides and loved toys. He is great with kids. He is really working on his house training. He is dog reactive and would love to be the only dog. If other dogs are in the home, a slow introduction will be necessary Dog parks should be avoided as he will be protective of his person. He eats well and love treats. After his hard start, this little love bug deserves an amazing home with lots of cuddles. In the 10+ years I have been fostering, I have never met a dog so loveable. Story

Welcome Tommy to CCPAL Rescue. Tommy is a 1-year-old Cairn Terrier mix with maybe Schnauzer. He is very low energy and a little shy. His teeth are really white and clean as his adult teeth are just now coming in. He is the ultimate lap dog and weighs about 10 pounds. He is very content being held and is shy but bonds deeply. He came from a homeless person that had about 6 dogs. The homeless person had rescued all as strays. A good Samaritan stepped up to help and called CCPAL Rescue. CCPAL took in all the homeless person’s dogs except one she wanted to keep. We will be vaccinating them and spaying them to get them ready for their forever home. This boy is not a shedding dog and is very very affectionate. He would be fine around kids but I think her best home would be with a home that someone wants a lap dog and a quieter home. He would be a great one person dog. He will be great company and will not require too much exercise. A small condo type yard would work for him. He is good in a crate and with other dogs. He is more vocal than his sister Merry. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 400 and transportation fee is $200. Welcome Boscoe to CCPAL Rescue. Boscoe is a 2-year-old Cairn Terrier mix with maybe Schnauzer. He is a lower energy and a little shy. He has nice long legs so he would be a great walking companion. He is very content being beside someone and doesn’t have to be in your lap. He came from a homeless person that had about 6 dogs. He was found as a stray and kept safe by a kind person while they searched for his owners, but now Raisin is ready to find his forever home.Raisin is super sweet but understandably a bit nervous after all he’s been through. He’s great with other dogs and depends on their companionship for confidence. With time and patience, he’s already made strides in trusting humans—he now feels comfortable climbing a ramp to sleep in bed with his foster and even wakes them when he needs to go potty!Raisin is looking for a loving home where he can feel safe and continue to blossom.
